Newberry’s is like woolworth’s, the storefront is still around. this store probably closed around 1997 when the parent company went bankrupt.
in it’s latter days, they had a security guard at the doors, just like
capwell ‘s had.
in my yourh, i spent time browsing the aisles here. they had a cool fish department. most times, i was at the lunch counter, drinking up sundaes or dishing down banana splits. gramps paid for some of it.
