THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. Seriously, first they ‘attempted’ to fail me because of my poorly installed radio. After I passed my emissions test, they claimed the space between the radio & my dash was a missing check engine light. I made them call their manager and find an image to prove their case… Over an hour later, they/​their manager found an image, and I was proven right (Like I don’t know my car!)
When they ran my car a second time, it supposedly failed. Since I passed the first test (!!!) I refused to accept the fail after all that time & arguing, and I left to run to a dentist appointment I missed anyway bc of these scammers.
IN THE END THEY SUBMITTED MY CAR AS FAILED WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE.
I HAVE NO RECEIPT OF PAYMENT OR DOCUMENTATION.

Mr. Ali was very courteous and professional. Sent me next door to have a free coffee. The first thing he did was inflate my tires, then the hook-​ups to the various machines. Finally, the price of $ 49.95 seems to be the lowest I could find. Will certainly take my 1995 Mazda Protégé there next year.

Very professional and fast. If the state makes me, I will absolutely go back. Location is odd but, the staff is exceptional.

‘MLK Smog Shop’ at first glance looks like a regular gas station situated on the corner of Martin Luther King and 55^th? unless it’s 52^nd. I stopped to get gas and noticed that it was also a Star certified smog station. I have something verging on a phobia about having a smog check (after all my car has 187,000 miles on it) but my registration was just about up and it had to be done and this seemed to be as good a place as any.
I didn’t make an appointment, I didn’t have to wait and you get free coffee. The technician ‘Puneet’ was personable, polite and efficient. The price is $ 61.70 + the certificate, but he applied a $ 20 discount bringing the total to $ 50 for everything which is about as good as it gets. I waited and although it passed the emissions, and visual (watch out ford owners) it failed because of the gas cap which was new. Had to order a better quality cap because the ones in auto parts stores simply don’t cut it. Thinking back I’ve had the same problem before.
They also offer a free re-​test and Puneet gave me his opinion as to whether it would pass or not. Based on that we went ahead and it passed really well. I’m so proud of the old gal. Lol. The smog result was electronically sent to the DMV so now I can pay the registration on line and it’s done… for another two years… thank goodness.
Anyway, this turned out to be a great experience and I definitely recommend this smog station.

The technician on-​site was most professional. He took the time to explain the difference between a Test-​Only smog check AND STAR Certified Smog checks. Moreover, he’s the first technician I’ve seen crawl under the car to do his visual inspection. AND, I received a «free» cup of coffee as well!
Additionally, the cashiers were friendly.
In short, an excellent experience on a dreary Wednesday morning!
By the way, the gas at Safeway is cheaper.

Got their coupon in the mail today along with my DMV notice, so I thought I’d try it out. No waiting on a weekday afternoon, the staff was very pleasant, and I was out in about 20 minutes. Total was just under fifty bucks — they give you the discount, coupon or not, plus you get a free fountain drink or coffee at the Super Stop station, of which this facility is a part. Docked a star for no indoor waiting area, which on a sunny day like today was not a problem; otherwise I’d have to browse the magazines in the Super Shop or cross the street to a coffee shop.
