McQuillen Tech is an IT consulting firm specializing in Macintosh computers and other Apple products and technology. Based in Oakland, California, and supporting the greater San Francisco Bay Area, we provide support, troubleshooting, training, networking, needs assessment, implementation and general IT consulting services. While we are Mac specialists we are comfortable working with and integrating a wide variety of products from the industry’s top vendors. Whether you are a small business, a large company, educational institution, or an individual, we are here to help.

History

Established in 1999.

McQuillen Technical Consulting was founded in 1999 by Harry McQuillen, and at the present time is a sole-​proprietorship. For larger projects we hire specialized subcontractors or other consultants, but most of the time you will be dealing directly with Harry. Compared to some larger shops where you may have a different consultant every time, we can more easily grow to know your business inside and out.

Harry, an Apple IIe user from a very young age, got his first Macintosh, a 512k, in 1984. He went on to write the New York Times best-​selling «10 Minute Guide to System 7» at age 17. After getting a B.A. from Amherst College in Modern European History he moved from the East Coast to California and entered the computer industry where he worked for several companies including Sun Microsystems and Adobe. After spending much of his free time troubleshooting Macintosh and other technical issues for his friends and colleagues he decided to found a Macintosh oriented IT consulting business.
