Specialties
We are an Oakland immigration law firm with a practice focused on services for immigrants who have had a criminal arrest or conviction at some point in their life. Our services for those immigrants include marriage– and family-based immigration, naturalization, deportation defense, and immigration advice on pending criminal charges.
We also believe that attorneys have a professional responsibility to provide pro bono (free) services. We gladly fulfill that responsibility by offering a free monthly naturalization clinic. At that clinic we screen immigrants for eligibility to naturalize to U.S. citizenship and help them prepare and file their N-400 forms. We also help with requests for waiver of the government filing fees, where appropriate. The clinics are on Saturdays by appointment only.
History
Established in 2004.
Scott A. Mossman is an immigration lawyer who has practiced immigration law exclusively since 2003. In 2006, he began to emphasize the representation of immigrants with a criminal history because he shared office space with several criminal defense lawyers. In 2009, he joined a ten-attorney criminal defense law firm as an «of counsel» immigration expert. He also regularly provides consultations to other criminal defense and immigration attorneys.
