La Quinta Inn Oakland Airport Coliseum

Very enjoyable stay. Staff was very friendly and very helpful especially with our flight delay and late arrival… thank you Karma (F/​D). Property was clean and safe. Full included breakfast was very helpful to our budgeted travel. Thank you La Quinta for a great stay and Go Raiders!

The hotel is clean, reasonably quiet, and parking is good. It’s within walking distance of the stadium complex. The elevator is really slow. The neighborhood isn’t so, uh, «attractive.» And all night there was a dog whining and howling in the area. A sad, pitiful sound. There was a big beautiful white German Shepard behind a locked gate in a factory yard across the street, I suspect that was the crying dog. So sad. This hotel takes dogs! Wish I could have sheltered that crying dog on a cold, rainy night in Oakland…

I was so pleasantly surprised. The accommodations were clean and more than basic with a mini refrigerator and microwave in each room. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but more importantly the Inn provided a tasty continental breakfast and free shuttles around town (within 2 miles of the Inn). The free shuttle to and from the airport as well as any location nearby. It was awesome, especially considering the location.
Would definitely recommend this location for those wanting to stay near the airport or near the oracle arena. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby l.

Super thin walls! You’ll literally hear every noise the person in the room next to you makes. I could clearly hear every conversations, and the sound from their TV like the wall was made of cardboard.

Our trip was a budget trip and La Quinta offered a good rate. We expected to get what we paid for but were pleasantly surprised. Early check-​in was no problem; when we asked for a cab, they offered to shuttle us instead (unfortunately, we were going farther than their regulations allowed — still, what a nice offer); the room was wonderfully clean and comfortable; the front desk crew was friendly and efficient and the continental breakfast was fresh and well-​maintained. With its proximity to the airport and Bart, we’ll be back next time we are needing to save a few dollars.

Had to stay here because it’s one of the only hotels by the airport that I could find that would allow dogs.
Pros: WIFI was strong and worked fast. They allow dogs. The free breakfast was decent. The shuttle to the airport was on time. The maids were friendly.
Cons: Very shady area. A mix of normal and Shady guests. Did not feel safe walking in the parking lot to potty the dogs and actually came across a dead cat out there on the curb. The hot tub was broken. The hallways were really hot (no airflow) and reeked of marijuana smoke (shady guests). Our room smelled like stale cigarettes and heavy perfume. Several food delivery places would not deliver to here (shady area). The elevator takes forever (better off taking the stairs).
Would not stay here again.

Very clean and modern room. They have a shuttle to the airport, but I didn’t use it. Parking is gated, but fills up quickly at the end of the day (more in the back, but the front is way more convenient). Flatscreen tv, comfortable bed, all the basic amenities you might need. I’d definitely stay here again.

The room was great. very clean and comfy beds. the 2 days that i stayed the housekeepers clean my room so that was great. The one thing I didn’t like at all was how much money they take out for I guess «security» reason. I am so glad I took extra cash or else I would have been broke on my vacation. It upset me that that they didn’t tell me until i saw my bank account. It took about 4 days to get my money back. it was a good room but wouldn’t go back.

One star because the room was clean… and that’s about it. Customer service (if you can even call it that) was a joke. I personally wouldn’t stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do so either. Came for a wedding and this is where they had booked the rooms for the wedding guests. I used to work at a hotel so maybe I’m more picky because I know what great service should look like, but I also travel for work and know what to expect. This place fell below expectations as soon as I check in. For the price– save ur money and stay at a motel 6 because that’s this place is equivalent to. Or spend your money at a nicer hotel where at least you get what you pay for in like this RIP OFF HOTEL!
The lady at the front desk didn’t ask me how many keys I wanted, she didn’t tell me where anything was (pool, ice machines, fitness area, elevators, how to get to my room, ect.). She did tell me what time breakfast was like 3Xs though. The elevator is seriously about to die, takes forever! And it’s super slow, trust me take the stairs (if you can find them). I’m not even sure they applied my corporate discount because they never gave me a receipt, at which most if not all slip under your door on the day of check out. Then that night we came back from dinner and pull into the parking and were stopped by their security guard. He starts questioning us about where are parking pass is, how we should have one, why don’t we have one, we can’t park here without it. I’m thinking WTF what parking pass?! Apparently the useless woman that checked us in was supposed to give us a parking pass and she was supposed to take down our car info. So now at 11:30pm we’re being detained from parking because someone couldn’t do their simple job upon check in. The free breakfast was «eh» the eggs were always out and the breakfast sausage was GROSS literally soaking in a metal tray of oily fat! Eww! The only non bread other thing they had was coffee (not good) and small apples. Finally we get to leave, we check out again, no copy of my stay record was offered… A few days later I called (Thur) at 8pm because my husband thought he left his sunglasses in the room. I call 3Xs before someone answered. never went to voicemail… And a woman answers and I explain… We forgot something and if she could check list and found for the glasses. She asks me to hold (2min. On hold no problem). While on hold I assumed she was looking for the item however she didn’t ask me for any details? But anyway she gets back on and says to call back in the morning because she doesn’t know where the list and found is?! Who doesn’t train their employees about where things are in the hotel!!! That just shows lazy management and I guess what’re can I expect than lazy employees, right? I asked why do I have to call in, again?! A good employee would explain the issue and apologize and offer to take down my number and details about the item and then say I’ll have someone check in the morning and follow up with a call. But of course the girl was clueless! She wouldn’t answer my question, about why I had to be the one to call back, so I asked her again and she hung up on me!!!

Very disappointing. The elevator is very rickety so upon entering the hotel and heading to your room there is reason to be concerned. When we entered our room we wanted to store snacks in the mini fridge only to find out that it doesn’t work. As a family, we needed more than the customary 2 sets of towels. So, when I called the front desk to ask for more sets of towels, instead of sending them to my room the operator invited me to come get my own towels. Can’t wait to experience the «complimentary breakfast.»

Two things and I’d give this hotel another star: One, OUTLETS IN THE LAMP BY THE BED. For the love of God… people live and die by their cell phones and cell phone alarms. I’m always annoyed when hotels don’t have outlets right there on the bedside table. No I do not want to reach behind the dusty bed to plug in my phone and then the cord barely reaches. Two, butter. Not margarine (which they don’t have either) but real butter. They have a waffle machine and bread and toasters and no butter. However, you can smear fully hydrogenated sugar disguised as peanut butter on your toast.

I stayed at La Quinta for a little over a month while waiting for my apartment to be ready. I thought the hotel itself was extremely nice, the rooms were remodeled very nicely. The beds/​pillows were extremely soft and comfortable, the bathroom was large and nice, the common areas were very clean and nice as well and the complimentary breakfast was great. The front desk were very accommodating and extremely friendly, especially Maribelle! She always made sure I used my points as well as making sure my extensions were easy breezy. She was extremely friendly and helpful! I dealt with Maribelle/​Danny the most, but the other ladies were just as helpful and kind (I wish I remembered all of their names!). I can actually say the customer service there was 100%!!!
The Cons:
1. Housekeeping is a bit lax, depending on who you get. The first 2 weeks the housekeeper was incredible I would come to my room and it would be immaculate. I was so impressed i left a 10 $ tip and a note (which she never got but that’s another story) The housekeeping becamw dratistically worse after the first 2 weeks. Half-​assed, they didn’t want to clean. Then there was a struggle getting thing replenished.
2. The elevator always smelled gross and was dirty and janky. You just knew at any moment you could be stuck on it.
3. There was never an accessible working ice machine.
4. Cable is a joke.
5. My phone never worked, so i couldn’t get wake up calls.
Despite the things that were wrong, I truly enjoyed my stay and felt comfortable. And I would totally stay there again if I ever had to, and also recommend to others.

This place was really nice. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, bed comfy and the décor was modern and updated. I was on the 3^rd floor where it was pretty quiet. Dennys was a 5 minute walk away. I really enjoyed my stay. Oh, and they had breakfast from 6 to 10 am. No complaints here.

OK, this the type of place you have to stay in, not one you choose for vacation purposes so lower your expectations a few notches. My floors at home were being refinished, so I needed a place to crash with my kid and my dog. My preferred hotel (Homewood) was booked til midweek, so we stayed here a few nights. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and could tell it had been remodeled within the year so so. The common areas were clean but need some maintenance. The breakfast was adequate. My only complaint is that the room doors slam shut really loud so expect to woken up.
The neighborhood is a deadzone so if you have a car grab dinner/​movie/​window shop on Park drive in Alameda which is easily accessible via Doolittle Drive by the airport.

If you can’t so nothing else you can keep the rooms clean. It bothers me that people take shortcuts to do a job. Girls hair all over the bathroom floor is sick. Just because its Oakland doesn’t mean you have to have low standards.

So much potential! This location has nice grounds and the one room that we’ve had here is very nice for the price. However, over the course of two years, we’ve stayed here four times and always get the same room. This is either a stroke of lottery busting luck, or they profile customers. Considering the variety of on-​line ratings, I’m inclined to believe that some rooms are substantially better and cleaner than others. We’ve always been happy with the room they assign us.
The common areas, such as the hallways and elevator are dirty and not in the best of repair, yet the lobby and breakfast are spotless and nice. The pool has substantially improved and is being maintained much better than before.
Breakfast is included and its substantial: waffles, biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs as well as the more traditional lighter fare.
With just a little effort, this property could be 4-​star.

Literally the worst place on earth. I’m actually sitting in the hotel room as I write this review so it’s truly insider information.
The day I checked in my front passenger rental car window was smashed with a brick and my suitcase was stolen. No joke. This place is in the hood. It literally wasn’t even 20 minutes before I had been the victim of a crime.
It gets worse… Ganesh or Ramesh (the manager) was completely unapologetic. He had literally no empathy or sympathy whatsoever. He didn’t offer any sort of attempt at righting anything. When I specifically asked what he would do to remedy the situation he half heartily offered to compensate me one night. That didn’t happen so that was an outright lie. But the lying gets better — he was reluctant to burn me a copy of the security camera recording. He said it «skips» so that there was no clear imagery of the crime. My hunch is that he deleted it and that it’s an inside job.
It gets better… he asked me if I was going to call the police? When I said yes, he said that he wouldn’t help me anymore because I was causing problems. Insane. Then he told me to stop telling other guests what happened. I never once lost my temper or raised my voice. I was actually very polite but this manager is literally one of the worst people I have ever met in my life.
The next day housekeeping didn’t clean up my room. The rooms aren’t particularly clean to begin with but come on, way to just be horrible in every way.
So, I got to pay to have the window replaced ($ 160) and had no housekeeping at all. I also had to buy 3 days worth of new clothing and toiletries ($ 200) and I will have to replace my MacBook ($ 1200). And I had to pay the full hotel rate. Stay away from this place…
Hallways smell like weed. Lobby smells like a swamp. The place is lousy at best. If I could leave a negative rating I would.

I had low expectations after the mediocre reviews (but booked for the cheap rate and good location for my purpose) so imagine my surprise when this was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in!!! I have NO IDEA what everyone else is talking about, this place far exceeded my expectations!
I was in town for The Black Keys concert. Because of car trouble we rolled in later than expected and thought we were going to have to catch a cab to make it on time. Nope, La Quinta had a FREE shuttle that took us to the arena and back! What a great surprise!
The room itself was beautiful! Lovely dark granite in the bathroom, big comfy clean white bed, very up-​to-​date modern furnishings. It was stunning! I took a hot bath just to enjoy the place a bit more.
Also, I wasn’t expecting breakfast at all and when they told me there was one I assumed it must be continental. No, again! Hot eggs, biscuits and gravy and two waffle makers!!!
Plus, very friendly helpful staff and computers and printer for use in the lobby. There was even a pool, jacuzzi and fitness center (though we didn’t get the chance to use them.)
And this was one of the cheapest places in town AND walking distance to the coliseum. It was beyond perfect!
