Description

Specialties

I’m a licensed psychotherapist in practice since 2000, specializing in therapy with adults and teens, as well as parenting coaching and couple counseling, tailored to your unique needs and goals.

A compassionately attuned, unconditionally accepting collaboration is my priority with you. I offer you an experience of emotional safety, deep listening and understanding, and hope for real growth and change.

I hold a deep respect for the sanctity of the therapy process and the therapeutic relationship. When you confide your story to me, you can trust that your confidentiality is protected.

I can help you realize these benefits of psychotherapy…

*improved self-esteem

*healthier, more satisfying relationships

*healing from loss and grief

*support in understanding teen issues

*more effective parenting skills

*support in moving through life transitions /clarifying life purpose

*improved stress management

*more effective communication and coping skills

*increased self-awareness and personal growth

*reduced family conflict /recovery from family of origin issues

*relief from depression

*relief from anxiety

My approach to healing is holistic, humanistic, strengths-based, psychodynamic, and relational, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. In working with couples, I draw from Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, as well as the work of Drs. John and Julie Gottman.

I welcome diversity and embrace a social justice perspective.

History

Established in 2013.

I’ve been practicing as a psychotherapist since 2000 and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (license # MFC43291). I’ve enjoyed working with children, teens, adults, couples, parents, families, and groups representing a wide range of diversity. I’ve worked in community clinics, schools, and in private practice.

I do not solicit testimonials from former or current clients; the Code of Ethics of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists considers it unethical for LMFTs to do so. It is entirely your choice as to whether or not you wish to review my practice.

If we engage in a therapeutic relationship, it’s my hope that we can candidly discuss your experience of our work together directly, in person. Cultivating your most authentic voice is an important and empowering process in therapy. I’ll encourage your feedback periodically throughout our collaboration, and accept it with humility, unconditionally.

I bring to my work humility, respect, and a genuine interest in the uniqueness of each client. My style is down to earth, non-pathologizing, and interactive, with healthy doses of humor. I appreciate you as multi-dimensional – feeling, thinking, physical, spiritual, and social.

Continued growth, both personally and professionally, is a high priority for me, through regular and ongoing consultation, continuing education, training, and self-reflection.

I’m a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and a member of the East Bay Chapter of CAMFT (EBCAMFT).
