I got a Core Individuation session with Matt and it was one of the most supportive and life-​changing healing experiences I’ve ever had. I have received work from dozens of healers, and this was extremely empowering of my autonomy and functionality. He was consistently respectful and sensitive, and it catalyzed great change in me. Highly recommend.

I found Matt through Thumbtack — I was desperate to find a massage therapist who could help me with my neck and shoulder — a flare up that went from bad to worse on a Saturday afternoon.
Matt is more than a body worker/​massage therapist — he brings what I believe is a rare intuition and skilled touch in helping a body, mind, and spirit heal. I know this may sound «woo woo» but a session with Matt is more than just a physical massage. The other reviews posted here on Unilocal from Keith, Dan, Dagmar, Jonah, and Eric say it all — and I agree with them 100%.
If you’re only looking for an «easy» massage and to feel better in the moment, don’t see Matt. If you are one who can embrace many treatment modalities, including Reiki and more, and can allow yourself to be open to healing «beyond the biolayer» as Matt puts it, then by all means, seek Matt for your next appointment.

Last week I had my first appointment with Matt at Harmonize.
I get massages on a regular base and was simply looking for a deep tissue sports massage.
Until I met Matt I was not aware of how much more a massage can be and how much more this bodywork can contribute to actually feeling better.
I am a runner, my muscles are always tense and for that reason I am pretty matter of fact when it comes to massages. I was seeking physical relief more than a spiritual experience.
Matt definitely changed my mind.
Within moments he located the problem areas and sources and treated each in a unique physically strong but somehow gentle, nurturing and soothing way.
There was no standard routine, no repetition. It felt as if he was communicating with every individual area, treating it accordingly and filling it with new energy.
I am lacking words to describe Matt’s methods and intuition but I am glad that Jonah and Keith described it perfectly in their reviews.

Recently I went to harmonize to get my body all balanced out. Matt worked on my body for about an hour and the end result was great. From my neck to my back to my feet everything felt more loose and balanced out. I would recommend harmonize any day if your trying to get your body working the way you want it to work.

Matt is one of my favorite body workers in the city. I’ve been to him several times and every time leave his office feeling completely relaxed body and mind.
His massage is very unique in that he uses several different techniques to create his own flow for each individual and their needs. Every time I end up in his care, he surprises me with a new technique/​modality to help with the end result.
He seems to always be learning and evolving which unfortunately most massage therapists don’t.
I really appreciate his passion for healing and genuine concern for each clients needs.
I recommend him to anyone that I know that is feeling off physically and/​or mentally.
Everyone needs a good body worker in their life and Matt is the man.

I was referred to Harmonize by a friend. I was complaining to my friend about a constant sinus issue, that most sprays and antibiotics didn’t seem to cure. My friend said, «You gotta go to Matt».
I was a little reluctant to seeing a natural healer, but I am so happy I did. I got an hour long body massage, and then Matt worked on my sinuses and my head. It’s been only 24 hours since I have seen him, but I honestly haven’t felt this good in a long time. Being sick and not being able to get well is such a debilitating feeling. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about.
I am definitely sold on body work and more of a natural way of healing, oppose to putting in some crazy pharmaceutical drug into my body.

Matt was clearly born to do this work. After the years he spent as a firefighter in Alaska and then studying with a Zen master, he’s now channeling his explosive energy into very thoughtful and effective bodywork sessions.
My session had a lot to it — guided emotional release, gentle holds, vice-​grip strong squeezes, assisted breathing, stretches galore. It had a deep and lasting effect.
And finally, Matt himself! Bright, hilarious, sincere and an all-​around badass. I am lucky to have connected with him.

First off, Matt Yerge is a phenomenal massage therapist. He is strong with a gentle touch and I always feel physical changes during and after each session. Matt doesn’t just do a typical massage. He moves you, stretches you and I swear it feels like he’s moving energy around my body sometimes.
Secondly Matt is an excellent person who is constantly educating himself and expanding his horizons. I’m always impressed every time I see him and I learn about his latest adventures in learning. I have shared with him challenging situations that I’ve been in and he has listened intently, asked more questions and helped me see things in a different way.
Lastly, Matt is a real mensch. I always know he’s got my best interests in mind. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone but especially to those people who want to do more than simple massage work. Those people who want to work on the physical, the mental, and the emotional are particularly well suited to Matt’s work. Go see him. Enough said.

This was my second time to see Matt and I felt the need to write about how much I appreciate his skill at energy work and massage therapy.
Matt spent some time really dialoging to understand the mental/​emotional component that was affecting my body, and I got the sense that it really helped guide the session. He creatively and intuitively slips between several different movements that could be identified as different schools of massage but somehow he synthesizes it into a unique style that is his very own and incredibly effective.
What really affected me was the subtle energy work that he did on me. I can usually tell that something is happening on that level when I get knocked out… and that certainly happened this time. I awoke form my session feeling open, vital with life coursing through my body.
I also appreciate the incredible techniques that he used around opening up my hip joints, an area that my yogi friends call «the emotional junk drawer of the body». He taught me some things that I could do for myself, and this has greatly helped. I’m a runner and those joints get sore a lot.
I definitely will be a regular with his work, and I’m so excited that he’s setting up a permanent location in the Castro.
