Thank God for people like Bill. He went over and beyond to give me the best and fastest service possible. He even came in on a Saturday morning when they’re normally closed to allow for my car to be dropped off. He is extremely friendly and communicated throughout the process. My car looks great and it was finished much quicker than other places I’ve been to. I can’t recommend this place enough. Go, you won’t be sorry.

This place was great… the service was friendly and courteous. I got into a minor accident and need to have my front bumper replaced. They went above-​and-​beyond by fixing some other minor cosmetic issues as well. They also cleaned years of build-​up of tree sap, dirt, street dirt, etc. off the hood of my car… hasn’t looked that good in years! They also gave me a discount off of their original quote.

I am updating my review for Bay Auto because I just cant rave about them enough. Sadly, I had to go for more repairs on my car after a freeway fender bender. The car ending up being «totalled» according to my insurance company :(
Cindy and Bill helped me navigate my with through all the insurance info and communications. And gave their advice on getting a replacement as well. I trust them and their knowledge and work is incredible!

Brought my car in there to get an estimate. The insurance totaled the car out, meaning they didn’t get to do the work on it. Despite that, just the little things like when I came back to take out my personal possessions they were very friendly and helpful. When I went searching for a new car, they offered to do a preliminary inspection — 5 – 10 minutes to look it over to see if it had had body work — for free, since I was «a client» — but one that hadn’t had work done there. My experience: Most body shops do pretty similar work, so the difference is in the attitude. Theirs is tops.

My car was faced with some pretty severe aesthetic damage as I backed it out of a parking lot one day. Being a woman, I am often times hesitant to take my car into auto body shops for the fear of being ripped off and taken advantage of. I consulted Unilocal and found Bay Auto Center, and am happy now to also give them my highest remarks.
Excellent service, fair pricing, and reliability you can trust. Each time I came here, they offered me a complimentary bottle of water. Gary made sure to keep me in the loop of when my car parts would arrive so I could schedule to take my car in, and gave me a prompt follow-​up when everything was finished.
His Team did an excellent job with the repairs, and my car now looks good as new! I am very impressed by their attention to detail and quality customer service; they even took the time to clean the interior and I was also offered to take it back in in another two weeks for a complimentary wax!
One note that the location of this place may be a bit hard to find, but it is well worth it. Once you do find it, it’s actually really convenient and close to the freeway. I would recommend Bay Auto Center to all Bay Area residents. They are the Baymax of the auto repair shops: I am fully satisfied with my care.

This review can be summarized in a single word: «Wow!»
This is how all businesses should run – meticulous craftsmanship, fast turnaround, excellent customer service, and great communication and follow-​up.
Craftsmanship: Wow! I honestly can’t say I enjoy getting into a fender bender. But I can honestly say my baby – a 2013 Audi Q7 with all the trimmings – emerged from Bay Auto a better automobile than she was before the accident. Seriously. They used authentic Audi OEM parts. The post repair auto detailing made her shiny and squeaky clean like she was brand new. They evened cleaned the floor mats underneath the folding seats (which haven’t been up in months)! And polished and waxed the wheel rims!
Communications and follow-​up: Bay Auto gave me regular updates as to when parts were expected, when they came in, and when (what time not just what day!) my baby would be done.
Customer service: Wow! Everyone at Bay Auto is extremely friendly and helpful, particularly Bill and Cindy. I brought the car in, gave Cindy the claim number, and she took care of the rest. Bill actually gave me a ride to work after drop off on one occasion. Cindy even arranged a rental car for me and arranged for the rental car company to pick me up and drop me off! During my last set of repairs, they found the alignment was off and did an adjustment. They even commented that I might want to have my brake pads checks; they were getting a little thin.
Did I mention that each time I show up at Bay Auto, someone gets up and personally meets me at the door with a courteous even deferential bow and offers me a cold bottle of spring water? And they asked me to «do them a favor» and bring my car back in two weeks for a complimentary car wax?
My car has unfortunately been something of an «accident magnet» of late. In addition, her interior shows the chronic stigmata of three children and a shaggyshedding dog. But Bay Auto does such an insanely meticulous job of post repair cleaning and detailing, I ALMOST look forward to the occasional minor fender bender. My Audi always emerges from Bay Auto looking better than new!
I am always very pleased with how clean the car is after I pick her up. They wax the car, polish the chrome, wheels, and interior and thoroughly vacuum all the floors and seats. About a week after picking my car up, I opened my hatchback for the first time in several weeks. Instead of finding the usual clutter of my three children, I found a spotless meticulously vacuumed interior. But check this out: Sitting in the back of my trunk I was surprised to find a brand new cardboard box labelled «Audi Service». I thought the shop must have accidentally left a box of replacement parts in my trunk. But opening the box I found that Bay Auto had gathered the toys, clothing, and schoolwork scattered throughout the car by my kids and neatly organized their stuff into this clean box! The clothes were even folded! How insane is that?! Like I said, Wow!
I think every small business owner should get their car repaired at Bay Auto. It would be an educational experience on how to delivery a really quality customer experience that is sure to breed years of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

I went back here to have my headlight fixed. Turned out to be a weird electrical problem that was easily solved. AND they vacuumed my car! That was really nice (and only a little embarrassing :). Note to self: clean car more often).

My AAA agent recommends this spot every time my Prius needs «surgery performed.» They are fast and reliable!

I live on a street where cars zoom down with no regards to how small the street really is. Of course, one morning I was about to leave my house when I noticed that someone hit my parked VW rabbit on the driver side front bumper. It bent the bumper so that the front driver side door was getting stuck on the panel.
I found Bay Auto Center via Unilocal and came in for an estimate. Cindy is great with keeping me in the loop and handling all the insurance side. They gave me great service and my car looked great upon pickup. On top of all that, the repairs came out even cheaper than I was expecting. WOW.
I recommend this shop.

I went to Bay Auto Center having previously had great experiences at their servicing location on Oak St (see my review also on Unilocal). While I only had a small job to do — replacing the tail light on my VW Golf I had a very good experience. They gave me a very reasonable quote that was actually less than what VW quoted me for the part alone. They said they would call me when the part was in and they did, I was able to go in the next day and get the part installed.
The shop is located in a bit of a difficult to get to location unless you are not coming off 880 Northbound in which case it is right there, but hopefully your GPS can get you there. Installing the new light took exactly the amount of time they said and while I was waiting in their clean light reception I got a bottle of ice water. After installation they also washed and vacuumed the car for me, what’s not to like?
Overall a very positive experience but hopefully I wont have to come back again right?

Slow start, good finish. My car got hit, and I was covered by the other car’s insurance, State Farm. Bay Auto Center was the closest repair center approved by State Farm, so I went with them. I was told that Bay would call me to set up an appointment, but they didn’t so I had to call them, which was a bit of a surprise since when I brought the car in they didn’t seem to have a lot of other jobs to do. So my initial impression was that they were not particularly marketing or service-​oriented.
Once I got my estimate and dropped the car off, however, their service was excellent. They arranged the rental car, kept me informed about how the repairs were progressing, and when I could pick my car up. They also waxed the whole car and offered to do a finishing wax in a couple weeks if I wanted to come back.
Overall, I thought they did a good job and would recommend them.

Cindy arranged a rental car for us and she didn’t have to do that.
During the 2 weeks (less than the 3 weeks initial estimated) that my car was in the shop (after a hit and run) they fixed the damage from that accident, as well as damages from incident a few weeks prior. All of that involved coordination with multiple insurance companies and a whole lotta BS — but they just sorted all of it out with no problems.
I will use BAC for any auto work I need, as long as I live in the bay area.
They *DO NOT* mess around :)

These guys did a great job and were friendly, professional, and fast to boot.
I came here because they are one of the preferred locations of my insurance company and I will gladly come back again. Cindy was great with communicating timing and cost and they did excellent work. On top of that, they were nice enough to give you cold bottled water on a hot day (it’s the details!) and they returned my car freshly washed and vacuumed. As another reviewer noted, they even offered a free wax in 2 weeks, and I received a follow up call to make sure everything was fine with the car.
Dealing with car stuff is no fun, but if you have to do it, you should do it at Bay Auto Center. I will gladly haul out from SF in the future to see them– but hopefully don’t have to see them too often!

The people here were really nice (Cindy and Gary were the ones I met). Gary even gave me ride back home at around their closing time! I was able to get my windshield frame repaired (rust due to a shitty job by a now defunct company) and the windshield replaced for a VERY reasonable rate and had the work done in about 2 days (mostly due to insurance ****ing up my coverage)
The workmanship is amazing! The glass is crystal clear and properly placed, the rubber gasket was replaced and is aligned flush with the glass (it was squiggly before — probably another present from that last contractor) and the car doesn’t smell of urethane adhesive. I was also surprised to see my car washed, waxed, tire shined, and interior vacuumed/​cleaned. They also cleaned some of the oxidation from my headlights to boot. 0₀ I can’t praise this place enough!

Amazingly helpful people here. They will really work with you to get your car fixed as cheaply as possible. I didn’t have insurance coverage for my accident so they tried to find parts not from the manufacturer to lower the price. They’re also pretty lenient when you want to leave your car there while deciding whether you want to get it repaired or take it somewhere else. Overall, best place to fix your car I’ve found so far (only taken it here).

No one likes to deal with auto body shops. It’s time consuming, it costs money, it’s just plain no fun. Thankfully this one was paid for my the at fault party, but it still cost me time.
I picked my car up after 3 weeks in the shop, most of this due to Allstate taking their time inspecting the car for initial and secondary repair needs. Once the final go ahead was given, BAC had this done in a week.
I walked in and could not have been happier with the job done. It looks and drives exactly like it did prior tot he accident. I will recommend this place to everyone i know. In fact its been a week since i got my car and i’ve already directed a co-​worker there for an accident he got in last night.
Lastly, they washed and waxed the car and asked me to bring it in in 2 weeks for another complimentary wash and wax. In his words, «to keep the paint protected and lasting for the life of the car.» They also have a lifetime warranty on the repairs they performed, which definitely keeps me at ease from worrying that the car will never be the same after a collision.

I don’t normally bother writing reviews… but after my recent experience at Bay Auto Center I felt that I would be remiss not to!
After several bad experiences with incompetent body shops over the years and the usual inconveniences of dropping off the car, etc. I was dreading having my car repaired after a hit-​and-​run accident. However, from the start the folks at Bay Auto Center were fantastic! They were tremendously helpful in driving me to and from my house in Oakland for the drop off and pickup! They did a great job on repairing the damage on my car. It looks great! They told me to bring the car back in two weeks to have the car rewaxed!!!
What I loved about these folks was that they said to call them if anything didn’t seem right. I picked up the car on Friday afternoon. On Monday morning they called me to check to see if everything was ok and to make sure that I was happy with the job. Wow! Wow!
Great work and great customer service!!! I would recommend these guys to my friends without hesitation!!!

This is a great shop! Nice people, ethical and capable. They helped me get the stripe details back on my Buick, when I needed it done in a pinch. Every bit as good as their sister mechanical shop on Oak Street. I went out of there smiling, and I will be back!

I came into this place last year, when my Lincoln Navigator got broken into. Bill was extremely helpful and really took time out to make sure that he was aware of every little bit of damage cause be the break in.
They worked with me to make sure everything was covered by the insurance, offered me options for other things I wanted done while my truck was there, and gave me really good advice regarding dealing with my insurance company.
Not only was my truck finished early but they also repainted my entire bumper and did some other unrelated spot work, FOR FREE. I would recommend this place to anybody that needs body work done. They will take care of you.
