History
Established in 2003.
Afterguard Sailing Academy is the last and best of schools started by Captain Mary Swift aka SwiftSwan, dating back to 1986.
Afterguard has collected a fleet of 20 stable, easy to sail training keel boats, 10 small boats, 3 power boats and 1 catamaran. Some are fun for racing while most are simply sweet to sail. Most of the boats are berthed at Central Basin where our Afterguard office is located. The Cat operates from Treasure Isle Marina.
Afterguard’s class list includes a full set of ASA (American Sailing Association) courses plus a list of Only-at-Afterguard fun skill-builders geared so there is something for all sailors, new-bees to old-salts.
There are 2 club options, Bare-boat or Skippered Charter choices providing many affordable ways to get out on the Bay.
Afterguard Sailing Academy is structured with a non-profit at it’s heart. We provide for credit courses during the week, during the school year for high school and college plus offer M-F youth summer camps
