Specialties

New Road just finished. Special needs for breakfast? Or don’t want to leave for dinner. We are happy prepare any meal for you. Lori has prepared diverse menus from Chicken Yaki Soba to Pork Chops with garlic mashed potatoes. We have an organic garden which is used daily in our cooking. Our 5 chickens produce daily eggs for our breakfasts.

Need a massage, flowers, gift basket or spa treatment… let us know and we will have them ready for your stay.

Afternoon or High Tea available for small gatherings as well. Special amenities create a memory. Let us help you with those needs.

History

Established in 2009.

Twelve years in the coffee business, two terms as an elected official, and being part of a staff reduction prepared us for this! Actually, we sold the coffee business and we were ready for new challenges. We sold the San Diego house and bought house on a mountain. When we came to Oakhurst we intended to build our B & B. So here we are. 7/​10ths of a mile up the mountain with 3 great rooms. Each with individual themes. We are pet and people friendly.

We came to Oakhurst 3+ years ago to start our Bed & Breakfast. Now here we are — with an all new house and 3 large suites for guests to enjoy. Each suite has a view. Lori serves as host along with her husband Bruce.

«The journey is worth the effort» is our theme. Prior to moving to Oakhurst, we owned coffeehouses for 12 years of continuous operation. Our journey to our home took us from the urban comforts of San Diego to buying this10 acre property on top of a mountain. Building this new home was a labor of love.

The journey starts with the drive up our mountain. We are 7/​10ths of mile off of Highway 41. The bottom half is paved. Then you will pass through a gravel portion. We have just paved the top part of the road. Once you are here you will step from your vehicle and look to the mountains and know that you are in a special place.

We have ten acres to walk and roam. We are here to serve you. and respect your privacy. Come for Yosemite… but stay for the Rest!

Great hosts, Bruce & Lori made you feel like you were part of their family. They have wealth of knowledge of the area, made great suggestions to visit, terrific breakfasts each day and great view over-​looking Oakhurst. I’d stay here again.

Lorri and Bruce just made our Yosemite trip & the spring breaker wonderful! They are warm and nice people, and their aim is to make the guest as their friends in their lovely, cozy and gorgeous house locating In the half mountain. You can view beautiful sightseeing in your room and they have two very friendly and cute dogs, two mysterious cats coming around by chance to meet you:) if you are not a dog or cat fan, just let them know, they will keep the dogs in their room. It is a great place for couples and families, you will receive wonderful travel tips and enjoy Lorri’s tour guide:) I will definitely choose this hotel again if I ever come back to Yosemite.

The B&B is located about 30 minutes from the entrance to the Yosemite Park, so it’s about an hour drive to the valley. The B&B provides an absolutely gorgeous view. Nice comfortable patio chairs to look at lit up city miles below or stargaze. Super soft bed and warm covers. The drive up to the B&B is a little scary as it snakes up from the highway going steeply up with about 6 narrow turns. It’s best to make that drive before sunset as there are no street lights.
Bruce met us with a personalized list of «approved» dinner places and Lori sent us off with delicious homemade breakfast of sweet toast, fruit and a hot cup of a drink to go. Lori worked out a personalized Yosemite drive for us based on things we wanted to see. Her suggestions pointed us to some beautiful sights as well as maximized our time at the park.
Bottom line: given the long drive to the park, would try to book a hotel inside the park. However, if everything is booked, Yosemite Sierra View B&B would definitely be the choice. Would return again!

Lori and Bruce made our first trip to Yosemite just amazing. Amazing cooking, a beautiful house, and a perfect location made our three-​day getaway perfect.
We arrived on a Friday, and after six hours of driving, the dinner they prepared was just what the doctor ordered. they fixed us a wonderful dinner of barbecued chicken, tri-​tip, rice pilaf, salad, and a carrot cake for dessert. We sat on their back porch just watching the sunset with their two sweetheart rescue dogs.
For breakfast the next morning, we had French toast while Lori gave us a game plan for our first day in Yosemite National Park. We had all day Saturday to spend there, so we first went for a hike at Mariposa Grove, then drove to Sentinel Dome for a beautiful view.
The weather started to turn a little, so we ate lunch in the car (that we bought at Vons just down the street from the B&B). Visibility wasn’t so great for the view at Glacier Point, but we were able to drive into Yosemite Village and visit the museum and gift shops there to escape the rain.
The rain apparently snuck up on everyone — my wife and I smiled to ourselves when we saw bus after bus of drenched hikers heading to their freezing, soaked tents. We had a hot shower to come home to. :)

That night we went to the Southgate Brewing Company for dinner where my wife had some amazing fish tacos, and I had a burger bigger than my head. Definitely recommended.
I can’t recommend them enough. Such a wonderful experience, and we can’t wait to come back!

I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, but the Yosemite Sierra View B&B was amazing and completely exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, but still spotlessly clean and with maximum privacy.
The drive up the very steep hill is worth it for the amazing view of the valley that you’ll have from your room. When we arrived, we were greeted by Bruce and the dog Booboo, who is by far the sweetest and most well-​behaved dog I’ve ever encountered. Our room was huge, with an amazing view and a big patio, where we could eat or just hang around after a long day of hiking. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was nice and hot.
The amount of privacy was great. The guest rooms had very secure locks on them. Bruce and Lori were always available and easy to find, but never intrusive. Even though there were other people staying at the B&B, we couldn’t hear them.
Breakfast was simple but delicious and satisfying. Each day, there was an egg dish, fruit, and toast. As an added bonus, they had REALLY good coffee, and I consider myself a coffee snob. As others have mentioned, there is a chicken coop on the property, and all the eggs for breakfast come from those chickens. There are also a couple of cats that live with the chickens, but as far as I know, only the dog is allowed inside.
Bruce and Lori were very sweet and friendly without ever being creepy. They were more than happy to sit down with us in the morning and help us plan out where we should go hiking, where we should eat, which roads we should take as we were leaving, etc. They really went above and beyond what I’ve experienced at other hotels.
If you’re spending time in the Yosemite area, I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It was the perfect place to retreat to after a long day, and I hope I’ll have the chance to stay there again someday.

It’s been a year since we stayed at the Yosemite Sierra View but I wanted to say how nice the place is and how friendly Lori and Bruce are. The place is very quiet/​secluded and away from Oakhurst (but only by a few minutes). The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast tasty. A great place to stay.

This was the best B&B we’ve ever stayed at, hands down. I’ve been here before on another trip up to Yosemite, but this time I wanted to take my girl friend. We stayed in the suite and experienced one of the best nights of sleep we’d had in a long time. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quiet, clean and private. Bruce and Lori were excellent hosts, making sure that all of our needs were met. The breakfast was delicious as well.
The drive from there to Yosemite was nice and close. We were able to spend the whole day there. I would highly recommend this amazing B&B to anyone heading into the Oakhurst area for Yosemite or anything else. The view of the Sierra mountains from this location is impossible to beat. You wont want to leave.

We stayed at Yosemite Sierra View Bed and Breakfast during Labor Day weekend and had very pleasant experience.
It’s kind of tricky to get there, but once you find this beautiful B&B, you will know it’s totally worth it.
Lori and Bruce welcome you with bright smile and treat you very nicely. They have organic vegetable garden and chicken in the backyard where you can have BBQ dinner if you wish. We asked them to prepare beef and chicken BBQ dinner. They went out to buy
food and cooked the whole BBQ dinner for us. They also provided us soft drinks, beers and wines. Beef was tasteful and tender and chicken was juicy and well marinated. We were surprised because they charged us very minimal for all the food, drinks and services. Their breakfast using eggs from the chicken in the backyard was really delicious too.
The room we stayed at, The Woods and The Dog Patch were very clean and nicely decorated. After long hike in Yosemite and delicious BBQ dinner, we slept like logs.
If you are a dog lover, you will love booboo and if you are a cat lover, you will love Lesa and Asia.
Yosemite Sierra View Bed and Breakfast will be on the top of our list when we visit Yosemite again.

I had the chance to stay at Sierra View B&B this previous weekend before our hike up Half Dome in Yosemite. Right away we were treated with a meal specifically made with our activity in mind. It was loaded with nutrients and made from many items from their own private garden. Right away it was obvious that the owners were accommodating our needs to make our trip as successful as possible. Not only did they provide a great meal, they also let us in on specific facts about the hike that would provide to be very useful.
Each of the three rooms had a distinct style. We chose to stay in the pet friendly room, which had tile flooring rather than carpet or wood. The full sized bathroom was reminiscent of a plush cabin.
I would recommend Sierra View B&B to anyone who seeks a great view of the sierras (as it is literally built a bluff on the top of the mountain), and expects quality service from an accommodating staff.

Stayed here on my first trip to Yosemite. Beautiful place and the view is incredible. Owners are extremely pleasant and accomodating, and need I say fantastic chefs. Will definately be back on my next trip!
