Our retreat is designed for artists, writers and nature lovers to allow work and/​or relaxation. The Suite is a private apartment with its own entrance so guests may come and go at their leisure. Our grounds have walking trails and picnic areas, and guests are provided with the nature trail pamphlet describing the local flora and fauna. The owners are naturalists with extensive knowledge, and informal classes can be scheduled for first-​hand information on the local plants and animals. A luscious gift basket is included, with local breads, pastries, jam and honey. Our talented baker can deliver hand-​made pastries to the home at the request of the guests (menu and prices are provided). We are minutes from Bass Lake and 20 minutes to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. We want your stay to add luxury to your time in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

History

Established in 2013.

The owner’s established the retreat after buying the home in 2012. Both John and Katherine hold degrees and love the mountain areas. They have lived in the Oakhurst area since 1979 and desired a place where people can enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Business Owner

John moved to California after growing up in Denver, Colorado and spending his youth in the Rocky Mountains. He was so impressed with the beauty of Yosemite on his first trip there, he decided to stay. He currently works for the National Park Service in the park.
