We stopped here and got the family meal. Everything was delicious. Great chili, coleslaw and all the meat was tender. We will definitely be back next time we pass through.

My husband ordered the fish, shrimp and chips platter and it was all frozen food, the fish batter fell off and the fish was grayish and dry looking, I had the beef brisket melt but ended up with tri tip due to them being out of brisket at 6p.m. my tri tip was tender, but doubted it was ½ lb as was told when I ordered it. Not on our return to list.

Always a great spot to stop on the way back from Yosemite. Good bbq and the bread pudding is awesome!

My wife ordered the pulled pork, I got ribs. Pulled pork was good, a tad fatty but still good. I was disappointing in the ribs, aside from being a little cold the flavor wasn’t the best and they were kinda of tough. French fries were good as were the beans. I would go back again but avoid the ribs.

Stopped by for a burger and a beer… had an awesome brisket sandwich and a Red Stripe with cole slaw. Really really good! Daughters fries were hot and better than McDonald’s fries on their best day. Really tasty food. Chicken Caesar salad was fantastic. Will def revisit as not from oak hurst — great q! Happy Belly

Great find in Oakhurst! We got the half rack of ribs and the meal plate with tri tip and pulled pork and it was great! Also got corn bread, coleslaw, chili and garlic fries — which were all good! Highly recommend this spot!

Alice’s is the new iteration of Todd’s, and is just as good. They serve the food in a timely manner, and have a great variety of Southern and Cajun dishes. Rustic, fun atmosphere, good music! Don’t leave without taking home a slab of the bread pudding — it’s super awesome! Basic alcohol served: beer & wine.

Since I’ve originally reviewed this there is no reason for less than a5 star rTing. Food is always great tasting. Plenty of variety and plentiful amount of food.

Delicious pulled pork and Mexican Coke! Would like to see more variety in the sides. I ordered a side salad and a ¼ pound of their pulled pork. The salad was fine, but the pulled pork was very tender and moist and covered in awesome BBQ sauce.

The customer service is great, the food is perfect and I can’t wait to come back! I had the half rack of ribs meal, which comes with 2 sides and garlic bread. The ribs were smokey and tender, with just the right amount of homemade BBQ sauce. The garlic fries had fresh Parmesan cheese and parsley. I would have liked more garlic, but they were still awesome. Even the coleslaw was homemade and perfect! All in all, a great meal.

First, the restroom is disgusting. Bugs in toilet; gross uncleaned facilities and no t-p. Stay away. The service is poor. Grumpy girls with bad attitudes take orders, can’t recommend food b/c they haven’t eaten it and give off attitude. The place small, flies buzz the food but good tunes playing. The food is mediocre. Tri-tip is tender and cooked well. BBQ sauce is generic. Tastes bland. Chicken is poorly prepped. Tastes frozen and not charred or grilled or smoked. It tastes bland and watery. BBQ sauce again is watered down and tasteless. Cole slaw is straight from KFC. nothing interesting at all. This is NOT worth the stop. PRICESAREFIXED. Everything good is dollar extra even on a plate. Price is $ 15 and food value is $ 7. The value is not there.

My wife and I both got two meat plates with different selections so we could share. Everything was super delicious! And the staff was very friendly! They also have Togo, so if you are staying in a local hotel you can pop over and grab some take out. Overall completely satisfied and we will be back!

Our group of five went here after a long day of hiking. We were excited to try the tri tip and introduce our friends to a cut of meat they hadn’t had before. I decided to make a healthy choice and got the tri tip salad. It was DELICIOUS! Some of our group got the tri tip plate and I was a little surprised to see the tri tip served with a BBQ sauce on it. My husband and I prefer our tri tip without any sauce.(The tri tip in my salad was perfect — no sauce at all and very flavorful!) They got my order wrong at first, but quickly fixed it and brought me the right thing. The service was good, although you do have to stand in line and order at the counter. I wish we could have sat down and placed our order.

The best BBQ you can get and for a great value. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork sandwich, kids ribs, and chicken strips. Everything tasted great, because I sampled every plate! The brisket was melt in your mouth smoked goodness. The pulled pork was juicy and well flavored. If you find yourself on the road to or from Yosemite, like is, you definitely need to stop in and say hi to Alice.

The food is great and the help is helpful, they just have this one problem. No ribs. I have been here twice, two weeks ago and today, both times out of ribs.

Great service + huge portions(we’re tiny asians so.) A little bit disappointed that they ran out of ribs, but everything else was great! Beef Tri-tip was flavorful and juicy, and the Jambalaya was a little bit too salty for my taste, but just the right amount of spicy. Their cole slaw was also on point, i recommend that!!! Overall, this is probably one of the best restaurants in this area. Would come back!

*used to be called Todds* Alice’s after new ownership is still the same if not better. The place itself feels pretty rustic and lots of good ol stuff hanging on the walls. Clean as a whistle too. Service was great and food was cheap — 5 of us for $ 50 even I think it was. Our particular cashier was very patient with my grandma and let her take her time ordering with a smile. Got the food and my burger felt pretty standard at first till I tried my friends chili, which was AMAZING. Will definitely be back in groups or just me at lunch. Great service, clean and excellent prices for a TLD;R

Haven’t been to this BBQ joint in years. Waaaaay too long. When I checked Unilocal to see what time they closed today, I found they had changed ownership and renamed it Alice’s Cookhouse(formerly Todd’s). When I read the one and two star reviews, I was worried things had gone downhill. Boy was I wrong to be worried. I had a craving for ribs and was ready to order the Half Rack of Ribs dinner with two sides, but they were unfortunately out of ribs for the day. I ordered the pulled pork and brisket instead and got mac salad and coleslaw on the side. The brisket and pork were cooked perfectly and were just as tender, juicy, and smoky as I remembered them from my last visit here. I love the BBQ sauce they serve here; tomato based, with a little bit of sweet, a little bit of vinegar, and a whole lot of flavor. They put just the right amount on the meat so that it didn’t smother it and I could still enjoy all of that smoky goodness. They still have a jug of sauce(and ketchup) on a stand near the register if you like a lot of sauce. The coleslaw is similar to KFC’s slaw, but better. What really took the prize on the sides tonight, though, was the macaroni salad. The secret surprise I wasn’t expecting inside was dill seasoning. I’ve never had mac salad with dill in it before, but I am definitely a fan. Great idea. If that wasn’t enough, the meal also came with garlic bread. Big portions of mouth-watering legit BBQ, great customer service, and the best, hot-from-the-oven bread pudding I’ve ever eaten(picture included). Great job, everyone at Alice’s. See you soon! I promise not to stay away for so long this time.
