The Learning League was founded on the principle that all students can achieve their highest potential when they are challenged, given the tools to problem solve and the space to think creatively. We want to help students become independent thinkers and lifelong learners.

We train qualified and responsible high school students to become coaches and, by doing so, The Learning League offers an affordable education program that builds on skills and supports higher order thinking.

History

Established in 2012.

The Learning League is a community education company that hires, trains and mentors highly qualified high school students to become tutors for the Oak Park/​River Forest elementary and middle schools.

Within a year through word of mouth alone, we have grown from 5 sessions a week to over 130 sessions a week! Please check out our website and read what your neighbors are saying about the Learning League.

Meet the Business Owner

Sandra A.

Business Owner

Sandra Arguello is an educator with over 15 years of rich and diverse classroom experience, including; 5 years of international teaching, 5 years of teaching in inner city schools of Chicago and 4 years as a teacher in District 97, Oak Park.

Sandra is an education advocate for children and Oak Park families. She continues to pursue her passion for education and her belief that all children should be given the opportunity to be challenged to think critically through her community based tutoring company, The Learning League.

With her diverse experience in education and her commitment to students, she hopes to make a significant and valuable contribution to the community of Oak Park/​River Forest by training and mentoring high school students to become leaders in their community through tutoring and mentoring our elementary and middle school children.
