I’ve moved out of Oak Park but I continue to use this practice because everyone there is so friendly and great at what they do. They’re good with getting you in on a pinch, and Dr. Manus in particular is very accessible, down-​to-​earth, and really listens and gives really sound feedback. She makes you feel totally comfortable.

Sadly, I have moved out of the area and will no longer be seeing Dr. Manus. I have been a patient of hers at Lake Street Family Physicians for 13 years and the thought of having to find another doctor is daunting. Dr. Manus is patient and will listen to every concern you have no matter how small, and she is extremely knowledgable. I like that she doesn’t over-​prescribe medication, and always lets me know about different courses of treatment. She is sensitive and kind and just a wonderful person. My mother and brother have also been patients of hers and were similarly pleased. I cannot recommend her enough.
The reception staff is efficient and if I have a health concern and am unsure of whether to get an appointment a nurse will always call me back that day and normally within an hour or two. They also will not hesitate to tell me if I don’t need an appointment, which is great because it saves me the hassle and $ of having to come in. I have never had a billing or insurance issue and despite having changed insurances several times every PPO I have ever had has been in network. Note that this office does not accept HMOs, however.
Sometimes there is a bit of a wait between the time when you see the nurse and when the doctor comes to the room. But usually this is not the case. In 13 years of visits (about 3 times/​yearly) I only recall them running very behind on a handful of occasions. Overall the wait time has been consistently reasonable, and I am usually in and out of there in under 45 minutes.
Parking is somewhat inconvenient as it is everywhere in downtown Oak Park, but there is a village parking structure nearby that is free for the first two hours on week days.
