We go back and forth on this place. It’s really close to home, but not the highest quality. The price is a bit steep for its location in my opinion. I am astounded they’ve stayed in business. There are barely and cars any time we go, or when we drive by as we get into the interstate. We have always had great service, and the food is ready right away. We typically order 10 – 12 corn tortilla steak tacos with a side of chips and guacamole for our family of 4, and each time we have food leftover.

Had lunch with a friend here today. Not a single complaint between either of us. Chips were warm and lightly seasoned; salsa was fresh tasting and good. Friend had the lunch buffet and declared it perfect. I had the steak fajitas and was blown away by how good it was. Ordered two medium house margaritas and was amazed at how big they were. We also got an order of chips and salsa to go. Between all that the bill came to $ 35. Just finished off the leftover fajita mix and wish I had more. Oh, and the owner came around a few times to make sure everything was okay. And, the server was also quick and attentive, and that’s why he got a $ 10 tip! I’ll be back soon Mazatlan.

My husband and I found on Unilocal on way home from vacation. We shared a combo called«the El Combo»! It was fabulous! Every item was delicious. Don’t let me forget the start of hot fresh chips with unique fresh salsa! And then the perfect end: correctly made fried ice cream!!! Wonderful!!! And we are quite picky!!! We totally recommend. We will definitely come back! Special note: it was a Sunday night and well staffed, good food, and service; not always the case in some venues!

We went 7÷11÷15. First with the only negative, they need to do landscaping. The outside lot has no curb appeal. There are weeds growing like mad from the main road up to the building making it look closed or closing and not well taken care of which probably mAkes people not go there and that would be a shame. Inside its really nice and clean great décor. Very great atmosphere. The server and owner were very nice. The chips came and were warm and fresh and good. The salsa was great. On the table there are 2 bottles if habanero sauce, red and green, if you want to make it hotter but it was perfect for us. We both ordered different food and it was great. We had no complaints about the food or service or prices. We just had soft drinks. The food and décor was very authentic. I highly recommend this place and will be bringing many guests here. There’s is a nice bar and dedicated bartender and I saw a TV in the bar and one in the dining area but there may be more as I didn’tgo in the bar or look in the whole dining area

Authentic!!! Hardly! The salsa was so bland we added hot sauce to it. My tacos were supposed to come with rice and beans but only beans were served. My friend asked for the cheese sauce on the side for her meal– nope, slathered all over the food. The only redeeming quality– the margaritas were good!

The atmosphere is great and the décor is amazing! The food was very middle-of-the-road. I was both surprised and concerned when it took less than 10 minutes to get our food after we ordered it. I had the 3 burrito plate and it was satisfying but by no means was it amazing. The food could use a bit more flavor and spice. The margarita selection is vast and it tasted good.

WOW! Loved this Mexican restaurant. My fiancé and I ordered a Mango Margarita pitcher and loco nachos. AMAZING! I was worried the margarita would be on the weak side because we ordered a pitcher… ITWASNOT! ha. It was soo good. We took our time, sipping our cocktails and enjoying the HUGE plate of nachos. Our server was very nice, professional, and gave us space. When we were ready to order entrees, he was right there to take our order. After the nachos, we were having trouble making room for anything else but wanted to try at least one other dish. We ordered the Owners Special(and for the life of me I can’t remember what it was called) but boy was it DELICIOUS! and did I mention the bottomless chips and salsa? Needless to say, we will definitely be going back!

This place was really awful. The parking lot is horrible and has no lighting whatsoever. It was next to impossible to back out of my parking spot, and the lack of lights did not help.

We went here twice, just to make sure that the first bad experience wasn’t the exception to the rule but it’s not. Margaritas — ordered regular margaritas on the rocks and got some slushy watered down version of something that was orange in color… not even close to anything that had lime juice in it. I thought I would take a sip before sending this thing back and it was watered down to the point where it was obviously melted ice, like something that forgot to be served to someone else and had been sitting for a very long time. Chips and Salsa — just plain bad tasting. Over salted chips were served probably to make up for the horrible tasting salsa. Dinner: My husband had some sort of chicken flauta dish and it was bland, meat overcooked and dried out and greasy shell on the outside. I had a burrito and it was the same, bland and greasy. It seemed like the mole sauce on the top of the burrito was out of a can. The servers seemed very confused and forgot about us often. Everything about this place was just not good except maybe the festive decorations.

The worst Mexican food EVER. We ordered guacamole and it came to the table brown and ice cold. Obviously was made earlier and refrigerated. The worst part is we came at happy hour and had a ½ pitcher of margaritas. It had no alcohol in it!!! I would never go there again.

First time here, can’t say I was impressed, probably won’t be back. Beer selection was limited. Had the Nachos Locos, cheese sauce was slimy and tasted like Cheese Whiz. I will say, though, that the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was festive. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The margarita happy hour is an excellent deal, but even when it’s not going on I still get a margarita because they are very good. One of my favorite meals here is the pork plate, but know that if you order it spicy, it will be spicy! Overall, this restaurant has an enjoyable atmosphere and good food.

Nice to have a Mexican joint on the far south side of the metro. Food isn’t great but ok and the margaritas are superb.

Possibly the most blah Mexican food we EVER had. It was also a bit over-priced compared to other Mexican restaurants. Being some of my favorite cuisine, I eat and cook a lot of Mexican food. The Herradura margarita on special for $ 6.99 was not good. Even though I had no expectation of getting a fresh lime juice margarita, I had to give it a try and ordered my usual, on the rocks with salt. I could barely finish it. The fake mix was nasty. The salsa was watery, sweet with little to no spice. It looked like tomato sauce. with some small pieces of leafy green stuff that I am pretty sure was parsley instead of cilantro. We had 3 entrees, each disappointing. The chicken was dry in 2 dishes. The beef tips used in the other entrées appeared to be steamed or boiled as it was gray in color. No browning whatsoever. My entrée was enchiladas with poblano mole. The sauce was very watery and sweet. It had no spice, no complex flavor. Traditionally, enchiladas are made with corn tortillas but this dish was made with flour. Not so authentic for a restaurant with authentic in the name. A choice between corn or flour tortillas is not even offered during your dinning experience. There are far too many items on the menu. Most entrees did not seem to be that different from others on the menu. I also noticed that most dishes came with just a side of rice. In my experience, both rice and beans typically standard sides with your meal. They offer beans as a side for an additional $ 2. Over-all, I would definitely pass on this place. It lacks flavor, authenticity and value. Service was just ok.

First time here today. Not a Fan: the Salsa. Upon sit down, as most do I try the chips and salsa. My first thought«It’s too tomatoey» as in YES I know salsa is made with tomato but there is a difference between real tomatoes and canned tomato sauce flavor. I ask the server, is the salsa made here? He says yes, and they start«fresh» with big CANS of tomato. This is a very bad start. Why would any Mexican restaurant make salsa from canned tomatoes? Not a Fan: the Menu and the Burrito. In the mood for a burrito and dig around the overly lengthy, wordy menu looking for lunch specials only seeing dinners… eventually I get to the burrito section. Several of them are described as having(what I feel is not a way to serve food) processed cheese sauce poured over them. I’ll take real cheese, thanks. So I select a burrito that doesn’t say there is cheese«sauce». Although, it does say that bell peppers are in it so I ask the server to leave those off.(this is not a fajita, it’s a burrito and I don’t need bell peppers to over power everything) It comes out with what I thought would be the guts & stuffing of the burrito scattered on top of the tortilla. But what’s inside if the beef and the peppers that I didn’t ask for are on the outside? I cut it open, there are a tiny bit of beans, I see rice and more peppers. I just don’t get this preparation. A burrito is usually something you can pick up with your hands but this never could be. Oh and guess what else? Some watery appearing type of cheese sauce with a processed overly salty feeling. Just what I was trying to avoid. They did bring out a new burrito sans bell peppers without me even asking for it. Then they over compensated the plate with an unnecessary abundance of onions. So many onions I spent more time dissecting them from the rest of the food than actually eating. Everyone’s done eating and I’m picking out onions wondering why I’m here. As a different server sits in the doorway constantly looking at our table where I am the only one eating as if he could not wait for me to finish so that he could come over to clear the plate. NOTETOSERVICEPROFESSIONALS: Do Not Stare or Hover at your Guests While They are Eating. Or at All for that Matter. It Is Creepy. Maybe they do have«some» good things on the menu. My co-worker guys at the table seem to like the tacos. Those came hidden in foil, with no sides at all. But they also liked the salsa… I don’t think they’re very judgmental with food. I wouldn’t come back here unless someone else from work insisted. Very disappointed in the overall quality of the food today. Real food — fresh food, please.

Great place! Excellent, fast service. Loved the Texas margarita, the potato enchiladas and the white cheese dip. The tortilla chips are well done which make for a slightly toasted flavor. I only wish the fajita veggies were grilled a little longer so that they are softer. The flour tortillas did not taste homemade.

I have gone here almost every weekend for the past month! I love this place. It is very close to home and the food is great. I have eaten the quesadillas and just recently fell in love with the spicy shrimp plate. It is perfectly seasoned!
