if i could give this place 0 stars. i did a groupon and i was supposed to get a cleaning, x rays, and exam. i was told by the reception that they accept children and they would accept my insurance as well. fast foward to appt date, they did a very limited exam on my daughter we were looking to get a cavity filled. they did not do the x rays and the cleaning was with a toothbrush. then we were given a bill for work needed for $ 600 dollars stating that my 5 year old needed a root canal. when i asked about what insurance would cover, i was told that they could get in contact with anyone so they just wouldnt accept my insurance at all so i would have to pay out of pocket fully. i asked to be refunded and they denied my refund and said that they could do an xray, but not the one that would be accepted at other offices for review so we could get treatment elsewhere. then julie hung up on me. avoid this place like the plague.

Dr Thakker is an excellent Dentist! I want to validate my review: I am a chiropractic physician, have a bachelors of science in human biology and am an extremely hard-to-please healthcare consumer. Making your appointment is easy; Dr. Thakker has excellent hours that even the most difficult schedule can work around. The practice is easy to get to and is conveniently located in the O’Fallon-end of Shiloh off of Frank Scott Parkway. When you get to your appointment, the staff is kind, knowledgeable and helpful with the simple paperwork. There has almost never been a wait and my appointment was always taken on time. When I sat down with the doctor, I feel that she explained things very well to me. She diagnosed a few cavities that I knew I had(The first dentist I went to wasn’t all that great so I went to Dr. Thakker as a second opinion) and from what I remember, they were the exact same teeth. I really appreciate having everything explained thoroughly in a way that I could understand(dentistry is a whole other world for me!) The procedures were all very non-invasive(compared to the nature of the procedures) and I had relatively no complications. She gave me excellent advice on how to take care of myself after treatment and recommended followup so I can make sure everything went okay. Billing was simple enough and just as pain-free as the procedures. I have not learned to expect great things from dental offices from my past experiences; my experiences with Dr. Thakker and staff have really improved my opinion. I would recommend children, tweens and teens, young adults, middle-aged adults and elderly.

I pondered whether I should write this review or not. Fortunately, I didn’t have to make the decision as it was made for me. About 7 months or so ago I went in for a cleaning and much to my dismay I was told I had 5 cavities. In the first 30 years of my life I had none, but now I have five. That should have been my first indicator. About a week after my first round of cavities being filled the exact spot of one cavity became extremely sensitive to cold or heat so I go back in. Her explanation, my gum has receded some so that was causing the sensitivity on the top of my tooth in the exact spot she filled my cavity. Right, so she puts something on the exposed part of my tooth to help and within 2 days it had all fallen off. Several weeks later I went in to have the remaining 3 cavities filled, only I was told they were filling 2 cavities. After I paid and was about to walk out the tech come rushing out informing me they hadn’t filled one of the cavities and wanted to know if I wanted to come back in and start the process all over again. I think not. So by this point, I’ve decided that I will never set foot in this place again. Now, a full 6 months after my last treatment I get a bill in the mail saying I have an unpaid balance that is over 90 days due. First, I paid my balance in full after my last appointment so why do I all of a sudden have an unpaid balance. Second, how is this the first letter I got concerning this. This insinuates that I’ve got at least 2 other letters and have not bothered to pay up. I had thought this place was suspect early on but this was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. On Tuesday I’m going to go in on my lunch break, pay my past due balance and walk out of that place and never go back. I hope that if anyone is looking for a dentist reads this and avoids this place like the plague. If you are looking for quality dentistry work and a professional experience, please look elsewhere.
