Two days ago I spilled a cup of coffee on our sofa and carpet, and it was time to get the carpets cleaned, anyway, so I went on Unilocal to find reputable carpet cleaners. I called Superlative, but it went to voicemail, and the lady didn’t call back for several hours. Meanwhile, I called Sparkleen, and Jeff, the owner picked up. He is a positive, energetic, Marin native who’s made this his family business for over 35 years. He’s a good listener and fun to listen to! He really knows his profession! I asked if they had any coupons circulating and he said no, but he’d give me a 10% discount. (So nice!) He also said they charge only 30 cents per square foot of actual carpet they will clean, and not by the room… which is way more FAIR to the customer! Jeff squeezed in our appt. for the next morning: Perfect! The two young men who showed up, Michael and James, (Jeff’s son and Godson,) were on time, but more importantly, they were SWEET, POLITE, PROFESSIONAL, ACCOMMODATING, and they did a FABULOUS JOB!!! (Note: This following segment is NOT about Sparkleen — it’s about North Coast Carpet Care…) Five years ago we had new carpet put in downstairs. Two years ago I called North Coast Carpet Care to clean it. Not only was their cleaner, Jon, and the woman who answers their phones incredibly rude, Jon permanently stained our carpets after leaving the pre-​stain solution on it for 4 hours! His truck-​mounted vacuum wasn’t working, so he left to go get another truck. After 2 hours, I called their office to ask when he was coming back and the lady snapped at me, saying he’d get there when he got here! FOUR HOURS LATER, Jon returned, finished the job, and I tipped him, feeling sorry for him as it wasn’t his fault the vacuum wasn’t working, although technically it IS his job to bring a working vacuum! Little did I know when pre-​stain sits too long it browns carpet fibers. A few days later I noticed big oval stains and called them to fix it. The rude lady reluctantly sent Jon back 5 days later. Jon aggressively ARGUED with me, saying the stains (that did not exist before his first visit,) were just part of a heavy-​traffic area. But it was obvious by the oval shapes, with clean areas inbetween, that his spraying caused them. To date, our carpets are still stained from that, and writing this makes me want to take them to Small Claims and have them replace our damaged carpet. ***Anyway, back to Sparkleen! James and Michael did an EXCELLENT job on the carpets and two sofas… and they charged me less than I estimated! So I gave them a nice tip! :-) You’ve got to give these guys your business, because in my 17 years of living in Novato and hiring several different carpet cleaners, Sparkleen is simply the BEST! :-)

This was a very good experience every step of the way. Everyone was courteous and professional from the first call to the last goodbye. The carpet looks great and we honestly feel we got more than a fair deal. I have no doubt we will be using them again. Thanks, guys!

I met Jeff (owner of Sparkleen) through a referral almost 16 years ago. My whole family, and many friends use them. Jeff has now passed the business on to his son and god son. They are very good boys! They are responsible, professional and do a great job! They are just a pleasure to have in your home. I trust them all, and if I cannot be home for an appointment, I have no problem leaving them a key and letting them into my home. This is the type of service provider I want to work with! I have had several incidences where there has a been a «carpet emergency» and they always work hard to get to your house as soon as possible. I implicitly trust their services.

From start to finish, this was a positive experience. Sparkleen has cleaned our carpets for many years and we have always been completely satisfied. This time it was equally as good as before. The owner (who books the cleaning) is very courteous and we easily got the date and time we would like. The friendly crew arrived exactly on time and were very efficient. The whole job took only an hour and my carpets look like new.

They did a great job including some difficult stairs and cleaned some spots on throw rugs too. Forget all the other carpet cleaning companies with their coupons and gimmicks. Sparkleen is a family owned local business that gets the job done at a fair price.
