Needed a eucalyptus tree and pampas grass removed, the roots and tree stump grinded, and the debris hauled away.
I got 6 different quotes. Juan’s was the lowest. He said it would take about 3 hours to get it done. He said he would be at my house between 9 o’clock and 9:30. They were at my house at 9:30 at the appointed date. They were done in about an hour. They did a wonderful job. I certainly will be using him again and will certainly be referring him to other folks.

I recently had called Juan tree service and another company for some bids on cutting down a very large tree in my backyard and two in front yard. Juan came right away same day while the other company made me an appt for 3 days later even though I said I needed to have the work done ASAP. Juan gave me a good quote and said he could do it tomorrow 10:30 am. I called the other tree company back and cancel them right away. Juan came the next day right on time as promised and completed in the job in the time frame he said he would. He even helped trimmed some small trees for my mother. He cleaned up well after his work. I am amazed at how well the three men worked together as a team and they were so efficient.
I recommended my neighbors across the street to ask him for estimate on cutting down their problem trees. He gave them a good price too so he got the work done for them the next day at 7 am. Next day I saw their truck and in 2hrs my neighbors’ two very tall trees were gone. My neighbors were so happy they thanked me for the recommendation!
I would definitely use Juan tree service again in the future.

Found his card at my front door one morning as I was leaving to go to work. Called him. Juan came same afternoon to give me an estimate on trimming 14 HUGE Queen Palm Trees in my front yard. Gave a VERY FAIR estimate… These things are near 30′ tall!
After further thought, decided to remove 9 palms and have the stumps ground due to overcrowding and slip hazard from the «fruit».
Talked to him yesterday to confirm the change. He said «no problem, we will be there at 8.» They were here on time and ready to get on the job. In the morning, since they were here, we asked for an estimate to remove a peach tree in the back, a bush at the gate and a 6′ Yucca in the front yard and have the stumps ground. He said he would do it all for the same price — Seriously? My jaw dropped!!!
They work so well as team as each person on the crew knows their job and knows it VERY WELL! Within 6 hours they were finished. I am still amazed at the cleanup job they did. SPOTLESS! Also they asked me if I would like some of the stump grounds for mulch. I pointed to a flower bed in the back yard, and they not only filled it, one of the guys weeded it FOR FREE!
HONEST, PROFESSIONAL, ON TIME, FRIENDLY, AND GET-​THE-​JOB-​DONE!!! You would be nuts if you lived in OC to call anyone else!

Removed three trees and trimmed another for affordable price. They did a great job including the clean up. Would definitely recommend to others.

Scheduled an appointment over the phone. He repeated to give him a call if I needed to cancel and the he would do the same. On the day of appointment he neither called or showed up. I called him 45-​mins later he stated he forgot and couldn’t come till possibly later in the afternoon. I couldn’t wait for him to figure if he could or couldn’t come that day so we scheduled it for a few days later. He should up earlier than expected. Although during his visit, it seemed rather rush with no real time to ask him questions.
Called him to ask him follow up questions. He didn’t call back. I called him back, the called back 1 to 2 days later.
Then hard to schedule a day to conduct work. He won’t set a date. Stated he could call me day before if he would do it later in the week.

Having partnered with a neighbor to cut back pine trees that are overhanging our two backyards from an uncooperative third neighbor (owner of the pine trees), we accepted bids. Having seen the property in person to make their original bid, Juan’s Tree Service quickly changed their quote to $ 100 more than before immediately after getting hired.
The work itself was getting done at the $ 100 upcharge, when Juan’s Tree Service started haggling with our neighbor again to get more money for the job already in progress. They threatened to quit the job without completing the work as contracted.
While the cutting itself was done to completion, in the end, our neighbor had to pay an additional $ 40.00, bringing up the charges $ 140.00 from the original agreed upon bid. We split the bill with our neighbor, so it was an extra $ 70.00 for us.
My husband was angry at the treatment of our neighbor because Juan’s Tree Service did not contact us to discuss the «upcharge» and just expected our neighbor to swallow the extra cost on his own.
This is a bait and switch tactic that undermines the whole process of getting bids in person in the first place. This is a very poor way to treat customers. They should have just given an honest bid in the first place, and they likely would have still earned the job, without this poor review to go with it!

Juan just left took down a huge mesquite tree. great price fast and friendly excellent clean up i highly recommend them… I’ll have them back to trim some cypress trees… Thanks again juan.

I needed work done in my front yard as I let a tree get way to big. Looked on
Unilocal and found this one rated high so I gave them a call. Juan came out and gave me a quote that seemed a good price so we scheduled a time. They showed up on time and did such a good job I ended up having them come back and do even more on my backyard. Cleaned up very well, hailed everything away, Hadley yards looking great for Thanksgiving. Recommend you give them a call if you need some work on your trees.

Great service. Called Juan and he came out the same day for an estimate. Work started 2 days later. Estimate seemed fair for all the trees that we wanted removed, so we didn’t compare.
The 6 – 8 trees were of varying sizes from small to large and it came out to about $ 1400 including stump grinding for a few of them. When he did his estimate, we wanted a tree removed that was next to sprinklers. He said that he wouldn’t do it because he was afraid he would mess up the piping. Very honest of him, but the sprinkler was messed up anyway, so we let him have at it. Overall, no unexpected damage, and he cleaned up well.
Lastly, they were kind enough to do us a favor by trimming all the vines that were all along our adjoining neighbors fences. This seems like a small feat, but the fences spanned the whole yard AND was fully covered!

I called Juan on a Friday and left him a message that was never returned. I called him again the following day and it took several attempts before I finally was able to speak with him. He scheduled me for an estimate on Monday at my home between 2 – 2:30pm. It’s Monday and I leave work early to meet him at my house but he doesn’t show up. I call him several times and leave him a message but I don’t hear from him. VERY BAD customer service!

I called Juan Clean Off & Tree Service to remove a dead tree from my backyard. Juan arrived promptly to provide a very reasonable estimate, so he got the job.
His crew arrived the next day to cut down the tree, remove all the remaining roots, and haul away the debris. It was obvious that the workers all knew what they were doing and they were done in an hour. You would hardly know that a tree was ever there.

I tried calling the top four local services on Unilocal for removal of an ugly Bottlebrush tree which had started leaning after a recent storm.
One of them, incredibly, did not answer and had no answering machine. Another said they could have a guy out to my house for an estimate in four days. Obviously, neither was going to get my business.
A third business sent a man out the same day, but wanted $ 400. Then I got connected to Juan, who arrived on the same day for an estimate — and was $ 150 cheaper at only $ 250, including stump grinding.
Juan and his crew arrived on time the next morning, and did the whole job in under an hour. Juan was very cautious about a nearby cable utility box, and his crew skillfully avoided disturbing it.
His crew did a nice job cleaning the surrounding area as well.
Faster and cheaper than competitors, and did nice work, too. Highly recommended.

Thanks to Juan and his crew for doing an amazing job on trimming our pittosporum in our front and backyard. We have two types of pittosporums and Juan and his crew were able to cut down the ones in the front and trim and shape the ones in the back. We called Juan and he was very personable, has a great spirit and just an all around great guy. He came out the next day and checked out the job and gave us a reasonable estimate which also included hauling away the debris. The crew did a great job and they were very professional and made sure to clean up all of the debris and was also kind of enough to haul away some existing bushes that I had cut down.

My mom’s been having a lot of work done to her house recently and part of the renovation is redoing the landscaping. We cut down some old bushes/​trees that had been in the front planter for at least the last 30 years. We needed the stumps removed.
Called Juan on 9/​18, he went to the house same day, quoted a price that was $ 150 less than my first quote, and was very professional speaking with my mom. Since I had already read the reviews on Unilocal,and after seeing the quote, I recommended she do it. Juan and his crew were at her house this morning and are already done. Professional, courteous, efficient, thorough, and reasonably-priced…it doesn’t get any better than that.
I hired Juan and his experienced crew to remove a wonderful 15 year-​old Chinese Magnolia tree that had simply grown too large and was damaging the adjacent concrete driveway and walkway slabs. He presented me with a reasonable quote along with evidence of an authentic Contractor License that was a) in the actual name of his company and b) for the category of work to be performed (Lic # 780 426).
Too often in the past I have been provided license numbers by prospective contractor only to check the California state Contractor License website only to find that the license was for another business and/​or a totally different category (e.g., the roofer that gave me a license number for an interior decorating company).
They arrived at the appointed time as promised, with all of the proper equipment and manpower necessary to handle the job appropriately, and set to work immediately, First, they removed the river rock in the vicinity of the trunk and set canvas covers over the rest of the planter and then tackled the tree itself.
Chainsaws growled for a surprisingly short period as they cut the tree into rather large limbs for the chipper. The chipper wasn’t nearly as loud as others I have heard in the past. Nevertheless, it made short work of the entire tree — I would estimate less than 10 minutes.
What really impressed me was the thoroughness with which Juan had the stump removed. I was expecting them to simply grind the stump itself to a foot or so below the surface. Instead, he went three feet on either side and at least two feet deep to remove virtually any trace of residual roots. At this point, Juan knocked on my door and invited me outside to inspect the results before he filled in the hole. As he explained, he wanted to make it such that I could i immediately replant.
Cleanup was also quite professional with great care exercised while replacing the underlying weed mat in the planter and placing the river rock on top. Several brooms then went to work, leaving only a handful of debris/​dirt for the leaf blower, followed by a final hosing off. The appearance afterwards was that you couldn’t detect in the slightest that the tree had ever existed, let alone that a work crew had worked the area.
