came here by mistake, thought it was the hong kong chef, oh well, i didnt have time at lunch to pick another place. walking in the place is standard hole in the wall. when i got there it seemed like i was their first customer, all the items were very neat. aww. ordered orange chicken and chow mien. standard stuff, orange chicken was good, tasted like they used real orange flavor but who knows. if you’re hungry stop by, prices are cheap and the food is alright, not bad enough to throw away, not good enough to run into traffic naked screaming about how good the Chinese food is here, and yes i was hungry 20 mins later so pretty authentic.

Very rude upon entering, terrible customer service. They have fresh food advertised made to order on their menu yet they didn’t want to make a fresh batch/tray of chop suey to include in my to go combo and I wasn’t even offered double on the item I did get and they just closed the lid, gave me one scoop of one item. Upon noticing that there was no fortune cookies, soy sauce, or hot sauce in our bag we asked for some and they said they didn’t have any when there was straight across from us behind the counter. After paying we did not receive a thank you or good bye. Will not come here again.

Hong Kong Express is within walking distance from my family’s home. My family has been going here for years. The owners are really nice. We walked here tonight for dinner. For a small place, buffet style the food was fantastic, really good flavor. They made the War Wanton soup fresh while we waited. We also ordered Orange Chicken, Shrimp Chop Suey and Vegetable Chop Suey. The Chop Suey was made fresh while we waited. Excellent. And the fortune cookies were really fresh.

Food was good but I guess I’m behind the times. I ordered a lot of food to go. I picked it up and asked where the fortune cookies were? The response was, «Fortune Cookies add $ 10». You’ve got to be kidding me. Get home with all the quests waiting — Hey where’s the Soy Sauce??? Where’s the plastic flatware? At this place I guess you get only what you order — everything else is extra. At any other place its FREE. There are plenty of other places around that are just as good and they still give cookies, napkins, soy sauce and something to eat the food with. I’ll be going to one of those.

Worst Chinese I have ever eaten. The food looks like it’s been under the heat lamp since it opened and the chow mein tasted rubbery. The prices are really cheap but you’re getting cheap food.

Ewwww… I dont know if we got there at the wrong time, but me and my bf had such a bad experience. The food was over-cooked, noodles were soggy, meat was extremely tough, broccoli was limp, and even the rice was very hard. We went back for a refund, but the lady who charged us denied us the request. It seemed like old food that was just sitting under the light from the night before. Not recommended.

I really enjoyed the orange chicken! Finally a place near me with good orange chicken! And the lunch special is a great deal half & half, one item, egg roll, and a drink 4.99CASHONLY though! the only negative comments I have are if you come early they only have a few item options and the lady could have been a tad nicer !! A smile wouldn’t hurt! Other than that good flavor happy tummy !

I’ve lived in the area for about 5 years and I love Chinese food! So I’m always looking for a great place to eat. I’ve tried other places around the area and I have to say that this place is the best. The chow mein is great and I love the orange chicken. I’ve tried other places but they just don’t compare!

One of my favorite Chinese fast food places. It’s a small place but the prices and food are excellent. I wouldn’t really eat here though, it is small and like someone else said it can get pretty hot in here. The food is great though, and also if you order a regular plate with two sides you get a free small canned soda. I’m not sure if they still have that deal going on but if they do don’t forget to tell the cashier or else she won’t give you your free soda.

I’ve tried a lot of Chinese restaurants and this is by far my favorite! Everything I’ve tried is delicious and they make cream cheese wontons fresh when u order! This is wayyyy better than the one at the quad.

This mom and pop shop is around the corner from my house. This place has the tastiest chinese food. The orange chicken isn’t «gummy» or sweet, the kung pao is good, the veggies are always fresh and the soups are made on the spot. Lunch specials are about $ 4.50 and 2 item combos run about $ 5.50 or so. The owners are super nice and they always have 2 – 3 parking spots reserved for their diners.

The business address listed via Unilocal is incorrect-I tried to correct the address listed, but no corrections are made by Unilocal’s URL! Hong Kong Express’ correct address is 11405 Imperial Hway, Norwalk, CA90650 Phone Number-562.462.1483. Please look at my pics to view where Hong Kong Express is located because the address listed via Unilocal is incorrect. You will visually see that Hong Kong Express is not on Firestone or the numerical address listed via Unilocal. Rarely, do I go into a strip mall shopping center to eat, but Hong Kong Express made my lunch fresh from scratch. The seafood chop sui with steamed vegetables and steamed rice was absolutely delicious. Hong Kong Express’ menu is simple, but freshly made on the fly unlike other corporate Chinese fast food restaurants where you never know how long the food has been sitting on the hot plate steamer. Hong Kong Express is a Mom and Pop type of Chinese Restaurant where you know the food is made the true Chinese traditional cooking.
