The new owners/management are doing something right. Went here for a birthday dinner tonight with medium range expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. Service staff was friendly and attentive. The fresh bread on the table was amazing. We ordered clams and carpaccio for appetizers to share, lamb chops, lasagne and tortellini for entrees. All the food was prepared well and delicious. We’re so happy with this cozy, bring your own local place and hope they stick around for a long time.

This BYOB place on Paris in Northvale just reopened with a new owner and menu. It is just down the street from us and so we stopped in to try and we have been back at least once a week since December 2015. The new owner is Lilo and he certainly knows his business. The first things that you notice are the white table cloths and cloth napkins that brighten an otherwise drab and small dining room. The menu is typical Italian with a nice selection of specials and the prices are reasonable, even for the special fresh fish dishes. I always start with a half dozen oysters($ 9.95) and then order one of the chicken dishes($ 16.50). I have been there 6 times and have worked my way through most to the chicken dishes and my favorite is the chicken Tuscany that has tomato and mozzarella cheese in an amazing white sauce. My wife has the stracciatella soup with extra cheese and one of the special fish of the day dishes($ 19 to $ 22) for a main course. Once again the sauces are amazing. All dinners come with a house salad, a side of pasta or vegetable and warm bread. If you go on the weekend Lilo brings in special Italian Bread from the city and it is wonderful. A nice dinner with appetizer, entrée and dessert will set you back about $ 25.00 to $ 30.00 and the food is what you would expect to pay twice as much for. Try this place soon because once the word gets out you will not get near it. PS: At the end of the meal the owner brings you a complimentary shot of Anisette. What a great way to end the perfect Italian dinner experience!

Went to this restaurant the other day. It’s really a pizza parlor with a back room. We ordered the fried calamari which was terrible — it was so rubbery. My husband ordered the linguini with clams which he said was not good. I ordered the eggplant rolatini which was good but on a whole would not go back.

Had a groupon offer so decided to try it. My partner ordered lasagna but was told they were out of it. So we ordered a pizza which I thought was extremely ordinary. Good crust but the tomato sauce might have come straight out of a jar. I had a Caesar salad that had a very light coating of something that barely resembled Caesar dressing. I wouldn’t bother returning there.

Great food, great people, great service! This place doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it should. The food is amazing! Italian restaurants, in this area, are numerous so it is refreshing to find a place where the food stands out. The owner, Joe, is friendly and professional and has always made the best recommendations for me(as I am indecisive). The cooks and wait staff are so attentive too! If you are anywhere near Northvale, it is worth stopping by IL Giardino!

Very good place for basic Italian and excellent pizza. Small dining room but perfect take out place too. Prices are excellent compared to other local places for comparable meals. Owner is Joe, he is very friendly and doesn’t take long to get to know him. Recommended to some of my friends and they are now regular customers.

This place is awesome! From the service, to the delicious freshly made food, and the neighborhood atmosphere, you can’t beat it. Prices are very reasonable. I go to this place for lunch at least 2 – 3 times a week and tried almost everything on their menu, never disappointed. They prepare food the way you like, workers are very polite and smiling. It is more like a East Village type of local place up in Northvale. Definetaly worth to try.
