It was ok, the pastrys i got were kind of stale and the filling was pretty much non existent. If it was fresh and they actually put filling inside, it would have been amazing. It tasted like it had good flavor. Its clean enough and the staff is nice. But I dont think I will go out of my way to go to the Bakery alone. I live in Granada Hills, so its a small drive to here, but I’m willing to drive to Burbank or Glendale for Portos then to go back here.

I’m so sad this the location I always goto and now it’s closing down. I was shocked to find out on Tuesday that Gelson’s was closing the doors this Sunday and that Viktor Benes was closing in 2 weeks. The employees just found out that morning so they were shocked beyond belief. I was disturbed to discover the news because this world is not what it used to be. :(I wish all the employees the best of luck and hope that the company can place you in another location to help support the hard work that was put into it by your hearts. I will miss you guys and this location. Bye bye delicious Éclair.

Love this bakery! I have had the napoleon and it is sooooo good. I also had in Encino at Viktor Benes Bakery which was not very fresh tasting. :( Viktor Benes Bakery in Northridge is super good.

$ 12.95 for a pumpkin pie? I think not. $ 17.95 for a box of bite-size holiday cookies? I think not either. $ 60 for a decorated birthday cake?! I REALLY think not!!! They’ve got a good selection of coffee drinks, but I only go there because the line at Starbucks around the corner is often so long and it’s so noisy in there that I just want a large decaf and go(and it’s 25 cents cheaper at Viktor’s and Starbucks often runs out of decaf). I needn’t mention that this place is inside Northridge Gelson’s, but the staff at Viktor’sare verrrrry European — they look German or Czech. Their customer service skills leave a lot to be desired but I just want the coffee and that’s it. One time I didn’t have any cash and had to use a credit card to pay for the coffee and the old lady really seemed bothered that she had to take the few extra seconds to run my credit card. I won’t ever buy bakery items from there, even though they look spectacular.

I love Viktor Benes! I’ve been eating the delicious pastries and cookies from this bakery(located in Gelson’s) for years. It’s pricey but totally worth it. Trust me when I say splurging is necessary when it comes down to Viktor’s goods.

My first time at Viktor Benes was around lunch time today. I dropped by to this bakery to buy some crème brûlée for my girlfriend’s birthday. It is located INSIDE the Gelson’s market, just in case you can’t seem to find this bakery around that area. I purchased a loaf of ciabatta bread, and 3 crème brulees. First things first, the crème brûlée. It’s usually hard on the top because of the solidified sugar that’s been flamed. This is not the case here in Viktor Benes. When I got the box with crème brulees inside, the sugar was already melted and getting drippy. Yuck!.. or so I thought. I decided to try one, and boy was I in heaven!!! The crème brûlée mixture was sweet, flavored with vanilla to the right amount and it was just so good. At $ 2.50/ea, I’ll definitely be coming back here for crème brulees again. The cibatta bread was good too, but nothing too much to write about.

Mmmm. Great bakery inside Gelson’s Market. They always have a ton of items(large and small) on display that are all sooo tempting. I’m a huge fan of all the mini-deserts. They’re great when you feel like a small treat for yourself or if you want to have a variety of deserts at a party. I LOVE the Apple Danish… it’s perfection. They also have great fruit tarts and eclairs. And the cookie selection is fantastic — tons to choose from. I could eat a million of their chocolate lace cookies.

went to this bakery after my disaster at Pastries by Edie. my fiancé had a cake for his b day(I didnt try it) and heard it was awesome. I know Benes makes great stuff. but i digress. I explained what happened at the other bakery. He sort of said the same thing. I talked with Daniel. He was great. He gave me some awesome ideas, and got me thinking about things I never thought about. He even recommended that I go to the WLV Bene’s since my wedding will be in westlake village. he said it would save me some money. imagine that. he told me that my cake topper, may be a problem since it was blown glass. he said there is a possibility that someone could bump the table and the glass thing would shatter. he said that happened to a wedding in brentwood, they had to toss the entire cake since there were shards of glass in the cake. I never thought of that. I am thinking of using this bakery, I was just very happy with his attitude and his ideas. it made for an informative meeting. highly recommend. I know that my fiancé’s cake was supposed to be very good and decorated very extravagantly. My fiancé’s family was most impressed with Daniel, the bakery and the cake of course

I would have given Viktor Benes Continental Bakery 5 stars if the ladies who work here were friendlier… As I was taking pictures of the wonderful pastry selections, an elderly lady with an unfriendly tone of voice would like to have a word with me. «Excuse me.» «Yes?» “Why are you taking pictures?” «Oh, I’m gonna write a review on Unilocal.» The lady didn’t respond with a smile. Instead, she turned to her co-worker to whisper something. Her facial expression didn’t show that she was happy that I was going to write a review on her bakery… I don’t know why… I love clogging my arteries with the pastry here… I would never bash their desserts. The rest of the staff members here don’t smile, but they’ll give you what you order. Fair enough. Parking is never a problem since this bakery is located in the Gelson’s Market, and it’s in a big plaza which provides a big parking lot.
