Whatever your budget, style, personality, we can help you find the right design.

History

Established in 2008.

Welcome to our site. My name is Kathy Cryer, and I started this business as my ‘retirement job’. My son, Richard Cryer, joined me in 2011. Our goal is two-fold. First we hope to enhance your quality of life by preserving your memories, one frame at a time. In addition, we hope to raise the public’s awareness and appreciation of local art and artists by collaborating, volunteering, and sponsoring many artistic endeavors throughout the San Fernando Valley.

As the local owners of The Great Frame Up, we want to be your preferred custom picture framers. We invite you to come by our store and check out the framed samples of some of our work. With our state of the art technology, we are able to create some of the most unique designs in the area. We can frame anything, and we are up to the challenge. .. . family photos, sports memorabilia, kid’s art, ticket stubs, needle art and much more.

Meet the Business Owner

Kathy and Richard C.

Business Owner

This mother and son team brings a long list of experience to the business. Both were raised in the San Fernando Valley, but have traveled extensively. They both share a love of photography, and creative ideas.

Kathy has an appreciation for finite details, and perfection. Richard is great at putting things together and provides comedic relief.

Richard’s experience includes 15+ years of home improvement /hardware retail experience, as well as 5+ years of home repair and minor construction. He loves music, video games, and photo editing technology.

On the flip side, Kathy has 35 years of experience in the financial industries, including auditing, commercial lending, and management. Her creative abilities began early in life, and have provided enjoyment ever since. Besides the needle arts (embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and tatting), she learned heirloom hand-sewing techniques and quilting. In addition, she has designed and constructed clothes for herself and her family members.
