Autohaus On Edens Sales

I purchased a car here only to have one of their employees total the car and hit three people who still have ongoing medical issues. When I asked them to buy my car back and get me a new one they would not buy the car back at what I paid and only would agree to do it, if I agreed never to sue them. Right so put the responsibility on the customer in the event the other party has ongoing medical bills. Let me recap, their employee totaled our car and hurt people. When I asked for a new car… GFY. Only care about their profit not customers or reputations. With tons of Mercedes dealerships in the area do not go to this one. GM is easily one of the worst people I have ever dealt with and I deal with them everyday in my business.
PS — car was also subject to recent Airbag recall and so I had to sell the car, guess what for a lesser value because of the accident and airbag issue. After airbag asked them to buy the car a second time and find me a new one… Nothing. Autohaus did nothing to remedy any issue. All the reviews on here that have positive experiences are because there was no issues. Have an issue with your car then write about your experience.

We were referred to this body shop from our automobile dealer. The shop was clean and well organized, The staff was very professional as the work was completed correctly and on-​time.
I would highly recommend this auto body shop for all types of vehicles; however they appear to specialize in German cars.

Just bought my new GLC300 from Autohaus on Edens. I loved the service, love my new car. Every salesperson was willing to help me when my salesperson was not around. Best of all I call for technical help and there is someone ready to assist me. Easy to get to and fair with their prices– what more can I ask for.

5 stars for a dealership is very rare. BUT… this actually deserves 5 stars. I am a small business owner and purchase cars for business & pleasure very often (about 3 – 5 cars every couple of years). I have dealt with many dealerships in Illinois. They all offer good service when purchasing a vehicle … but not many offer exceptional service AFTER you make the purchase. I purchased my first certified used Mercedes Benz from Autohaus in 2014. I ran into some minor issues and expressed my dissatisfaction– as soon as I did this I received a call from the Sales Manager Bob Ruscitti. He gave me an offer I could not refuse and I was a happy camper! So, being happy I sent my brother in: He purchased one ML new. and one GL used. both cars are solid and no issues. in 2015 I purchased a ML 63 AMG high end car. Had some issues and again Bob, Ken Dunaway (service), and Ricky (sales), all came to the rescue to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I am talking MONTHS of working together with Mercedes corporate, Regional reps, managers, and everything to remedy MY ISSUES. I truly felt like I was their one and only priority and customer. I have never felt such a caring group from a dealer! It really blew my mind and it made me loyal not only to the brand Mercedes but also to this specific dealership. The point is that this dealership treated me like a loyal customer from the day I walked in and purchased a 30K car and treated me the same when I purchased a 120K car… The sales rep ALWAYS texts me back, Bob the manager gets back to me no more than 1 hour later, and the service department always answers all my questions and concerns. I hope that all customers that walk in through that door get the same experience as I do. 1) I don’t want to look like a liar and inaccurate Unilocaler and 2) if you guys treat everyone like this you will be even more successful and in business forever.
This was my personal experience. Let me give you the layout of the dealership:
The dealership is kid friendly, bottled water, grade a coffee machine, awesome tea selection, and they usually have food on the weekends. There is no kitchen just a customer area. There is plenty of parking in front of the building.
Service department: Once you’re assigned a service adviser they have a great communication system. You can call, or receive text message regarding your vehicle or if you need to make an appointment. They provide brand new loaner cars and it’s always fueled up, clean and ready to go. They’re flexible and always work on your schedule. I am not kidding.
New car delivery: They go over the whole vehicle with you. They make sure that you know your vehicle before you get off the lot. They’re always willing to throw in extras when you’re purchasing a new car– they’re not nickel and diming you. My salesmen for the last transaction was Ricky Pena– Grade A person.
I hope you guys check these guys out. Easy to get to. Great to work with. And creating a business relationship with your dealer will always work in your favor.

My car was totalled by a basement flood, and I was shopping for a replacement. I couldn’t decide between a particular BMW model and a particular Mercedes model. This place helped me select the right car.
I went to Autohaus on a Saturday in typical clean but casual weekend garb driving the econobox rental car that the insurance company «prescribed» to me. Before I went, I had already done much research and knew exactly which car I wanted to consider. So I went straight to the car, looked around, and asked for a test drive. That was when the experience started.
The salesman’s attitude was extremely condescending and rude. I know I may not have looked the part of a Mercedes owner, but that was not for him to judge. After a lot of humming and hawing, he told me that he didn’t have the particular model in stock. That was a lie as I saw one in the lot. And when I enquired about the factory delivery option, I was told that Mercedes owners are busy corporate leaders and business owners who don’t have time to go pick up their cars in Germany and that I should forget about it.
That nailed it for me. So I went next door to Fields BMW, test drove the BMW model that I had in mind, and bought it. Unlike the salesman at the Autohaus, the Fields BMW salesman didn’t take issue with my appearance or my rental car. He was only ecstatic to tell me all about factory delivery and helped me work through all the logistics. It just happened that I am a busy business owner and I am willing to take the time to pick up my new car at the factory. It was all that I could do to not buy a car sitting in the Fields BMW lot and drive it to the Autohaus and thank the guy for helping me decide on the BMW.

I’ve read the reviews from other customers, which only makes me even more grateful to have now had three great experiences here at this dealership. The first being with Roosevelt in sales and twice with Ed in service. Of course, I’ve had interactions with others as well. I don’t have all their names, but they were all very helpful as well whether it’s from showing me how to use some of my vehicles features to greeting me and asking me about my service issue before handing me off to Ed.
The only reason I would give them 4 stars would be because of the waiting room experience. Regardless of the «end» of vehicle brand, I’ve just had a much better feeling of satisfaction at other dealers such as Fields BMW and Jennings Chevrolet. At those places, there are far more work spaces, free food, and just a real feeling like they want you to be there.

I live in the city yet have purchased my last several Mercedes in Northbrook at Autohaus. I would never again buy a car from any of the two Mercedes dealers which are actually closer to where I live again.
From purchasing to service Autohaus has always performed in a way I would hope a dealer not only would but should! Mercedes is a luxury car not something one has to have! I have been treated fairly year after year.

Have been working on a deal with Al Mondello. Al has been great in communicating and responding promptly Although we have not yet reached a deal, I look forward to completing it once inventory arrives.

I picked up my slightly dented Rav 4 last Friday the 13^th, March 2015 and it looked as brand new as the day my husband and I purchased it! 2 Vehicles purchased in Park Ridge– would NEVER buy there again!!! Horrible Customer Service!
It pays to go out of our way to be serviced by Northbrook Toyota– these folks know the true definition of Quality Customer Service!

Flew in this morning to buy a car for my mom from GLORIA. Handled all paperwork over email and every detail was prepared for me before I arrived. Almost daily communication. I spent just about 15 minutes in the dealership to pick up the new ML350. The also had the best price in the area.
Highly recommended.

These guys are pretty polite when you are buying, but when it comes to Service– to say they drop the ball is an understatement. Just look at the two sides. On the Sales side, you are politely greeted, it is clean. On the Service side, you are treated coldly, waiting room is filthy and smells, the coffee bar is truly gross– This is what you get for spending 65K + on a new vehicle?
Dropped my car off for a simple taillight recall fix. Had to wait an hour and a half. When I went to pick it up, they tell me battery is dead and I need a new one for $ 325. I drove in just fine and car had no trouble starting– too much of a coincidence for me. How do I know what happened once I left my car in their hands? Tom Lood told me they could jump it, but tomorrow morning it won’t start. When I balked at the unplanned purchase and expressed my suspicions, he said he could charge it overnight to see if there was any life left in it. Next day, Sales Manager, Tim Portee, said battery ‘is fine’ — it tested as «Good.» He apologized and admitted the situation was not handled well (and that Tom Lood has been on their radar), but when I told him I lost my trust in them and would be taking my car elsewhere for Service, he seemed to ignore my statements and acted like he couldn’t care less. Obviously, they lied. I purchased two cars from the owner of Autohaus. Now they have officially lost my business forever. How idiotic of them! And over such a small inexpensive fix. Very disappointed!

Bought a new C class from this group yesterday.
Kevin James was the salesman that I dealt with. I have never had such a positive experience buying a car before.
I stopped in on my way home from work told Kevin the car I wanted and what options I needed to have, he found the exact car on the lot. Told Kevin what I would like to pay and he came back in about 5 minutes at a price that was very close to where I wanted to be, it was fantastic, and the experience was very pleasant. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes, told them I would be back in a few hours to do paperwork and take delivery of the car.
When I showed up in the evening Kevin was there to greet me, he finished cleaning out my trade in and brought me a few items I would have forgotten had he not searched the car. He then turned me over to a nice woman who’s name escapes me now, she went over my car in incredible detail with me and was sure I understood everything about the car, she then gave me a tour of the facility which was in great condition.
The guy who did my paperwork could not have been more organized, I sat down, he explained everything to me and wanted to be sure I understood everything. No hidden fees or cost, everything was exactly as Kevin and I had agreed on. I was in and out of financing in under 10 minutes. Walked to my new car and drove home.
I will for sure be recommending this place to friends and family.

I personally love service and selection here. I live hour away and come here for my cars. I bought new 2014 E350 sport earlier this year and new GLK 350 last night. I was well taken cared of from beginning and they even stayed after hours for me! No one mad or giving me strange looks. Cars are always ready to go and paper work was fast and easy. No hidden fees… everything is up front in your face. I send all my friends here and no bad feedback from them.
Trust me. i am not one to recommend people if its not good enough for me.

This is our 4^th Mercedes from Autohaus on Edens. We have been very happy so far. Our sales person Conrad is very nice and really works with us to give us the best deal he can. Bob R has always been great to us. If we need service we always book a loaner with no problems.

Autohaus on Edens always surpasses my expectations in every way. We have purchased 3 Mercedes there, and each transaction was perfect! Their service department is stellar, especially in regards to Ken!
Kevin James has been our sales person for each of our cars, and we will look forward to having him help us with future sales.
Cannot say enough about this dealership!

I been going to autohaus on edens since 2008. Bought new ML and new E350 here. And have had my c class and sel serviced here also.
But tonight I had the worst and disturbing experience as a customer/​client/​consumer ever… really!!!
I swear this is true… no exaggeration.
5−20−14, 11am dropped off my wifes ML 350 for service A and new wiper blades.
7pm went to pick up ML. I paid cashier while valet pulled ML to garage. I noticed a crack in shape of upside y about 10 inches on windshield.
This is when I met EDMUNDO (service advisor). He was getting ready to leave so he wasnt to concerned about me standing there waiting for help. I had to ask him to help me, that im picking up my car but theres a crack in windshield. He didnt seem too happy, he wanted to leave. We walked over to my car and right away he said it was from a chip and their not responsible so call insurance, that they will do it for free.
I stated most cars have little chips you cant see. And why would the tech not say anything about a huge cracked winshield when he was putting new wipers on… because there was no crack at the time. And when I brought the car in 7 hours ago… there was definitely NO crack, especially a 10 inch crack in windshield. He replied it doesn’t matter, their not taking responsibility. EDMUNDO was getting annoyed that he knew what he was talking about and I didn’t. We were both kinda getting frustrated with another. Then he told me to call Ken (another service advisor, worked with him before, his excellent). Then he said he was done and went back to his desk in service room. I was left standing there like an idiot. So I followed him to his desk and demanded to see a manager. EDMUNDO said their was none.
This is where it gets disturbing…
EDMUNDO suddenly slams his fists on his desk as hard as he can, with a raging look on his face yelling, «GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!!!» Again he yelled, «GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!!!»…I was shocked, couldnt believe what was going on.
Gary, another service advisor ran over from his desk when he heard EDMUNDO going off. Right when Gary came over, EDMUNDO charged me but Gary got in the middle and blocked him. I was so shocked by his actions, I said, «wow, you gonna hit me??»
Gary was yelling,“go home ED, go home ED”. I BET THIS ALL GOT CAPTURED ON VIDEO. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE VIDEO. I felt like I was at a used car lot in the 80’s fighting over a mellon.
To make story short, EDMUNDO went home while Gary was apologizing for his actions. Gary called over a sales manager (al). I explained to him it was much more disturbing seeing EDMUNDO go off then the cracked windsheild. I asked him and he gave me 2 names…1) Tim Portee (service director) and 2) Mark Tames (gen manager)
I see Mark Tames responds to some complaints. I will email both of them to view this review and hope they respond to this odd experience I had tonight at AUTOHAUS ON EDENS… i will also call district manager for usamb and corporate, im curious how they will all respond… as ridiculous as this all might sound, I swear this is all true.
Also I am looking to buy new ML soon and my dad looking to buy S class but I certainly will stay far away from AUTOHAUSE ON EDENS to buy or to service my vehicles to avoid employees like this.

I hate to give this place even one star.
Went in after a not great experience at the Benz dealer in the city, decided to give this place a try.
Background: I’m in sales as well and my demographic is high-​end residential customers who are the top 10% of income earners in Chicago. So, I know a little bit about sales and how to treat people.
I’ve been really excited about the new entry level CLA class that’s coming out and you have to order it and I was ready and excited to take the plunge and pay all up front and wait for my baby to come in (or pay deposit and pay rest when it came in… however they wanted it… I wanted this car)
I was greeted by a salesman named Roosevelt. He was nice… at first. Eventually, I realized I knew more about this car than he did and while he was printing out the options for me, he was a jerk when I asked him what the standard equipment was (as I have always driven Lexus and Toyota, I’m not familiar with what’s standard on Benz, let alone a new one that’s not hit the floors yet). He told me no one asked for that before. Ok, sorry dude, but no need to tell me that.
Here’s the kicker: he told me that the Benz dealers and salesguys DON’T LIKE THE CLA AND DON’T WANT TO SELL IT OR SEE IT OR HAVE IT COME IN. Yep, he said that about a product his company is promoting ALL OVER THE PLANET.
Mercedes is being very smart by adding an entry car to their lineup, promoting it on twitter, facebook, and even with an instagram contest: all to get in younger buyers who think Benz is an old person brand. Wake up sales guys: the elderly population is the biggest in US history and in 5 – 10 years they will be dead, in nursing homes, or not driving anymore and you will need NEW BLOOD. Mercedes has realized this and I was really excited about it.
I said something like, yeah, it’s cool cause they are getting in younger people who will get booked on Benz and in a few years will buy a CLS or an S Class. Good move, Mercedes.
He says to me (and I am not adding anything here, just his exact words):
«Yeah, you’re not our customer. They’re not out customer. We don’t want those customers.»
Um…ok, wow. Wow. Seriously. Ouch. Man I feel like dirt and now this entire experience has soured. And I drove out here from the city for this? I was ready to order one!
Lastly, he tells me they can’t give me a firm price on the car and he prints out an estimate of $ 99,000 for this car that starts at under 30K and probably tops out with every feature around 50 or 55K absolute max. I asked him if he could get within, oh I don’t know, 30 grand of the cost and he said no.
I thanked him for his time and left.
I called the manager and he was not really any help and made some excuse about the pricing.
I called the city Benz dealer and talked to the manager (Karen) and she said that was weird and that they are ordering them for customers and giving them the correct pricing.
Who the heck knows. Maybe they should have me train these guys on how to sell, how to treat people, and about their own car that’s coming in.

I had the same experience as Griff but this time the guy who ran the shop is a Peter. The rental program is good, I got a new highlander to borrow while my wifes sequoia that was in to get fixed. State Farm disputed an item on the appraisal so Peter fought for me a little harder than I would expect and that was appreciated. The car was done nicely, in a reasonable amount of time and they earned every bit of the 4 stars.

Bought a new car from them at the end of 2010. The bargaining experience started out great and fair. Took a couple of hours and when it came to signing all the paperwork, they tried to tack on an extra percentage point on the financing. The finance manager snapped at me and said «It’s only a difference of about $ 45 a month». Strange and nasty in her tone. I got up to walk out on the deal, then they conceded.
Several months later, my new car got hail damage. Brought it back to them and their body shop and it took five weeks to complete the job. Several calls to them were not returned (what business does that?) Had to refuse it twice, once for several missed spots, and once for heavy swirl marks. While it was in the shop, I decided to have them do a service A on the vehicle ($ 400, whoa). Took another week, and they would not update my software. A couple of warranty claims went untouched, but I ran out of energy to dispute it further. Just wanted my car back.
Sent two email to the owner while all this was happening, no response.
Plenty of other places in Chicagoland to get a Mercedes, I cannot recommend anything about this dealership.
