History

Established in 2009.

Wag A Tail Pawsitting began in 2009 with only one client-​Max, a Portuguese Water Dog, for whom I pet sat for. He barked uncontrollably, lunged at other dogs, bit people-​including yours truly– and got skunked! With all that being said, I still enjoyed my time with this trying soul.

Today, Wag A Tail has a client base of about 60 dogs. It is a full-​service company offering dog walking, pet sitting, dog training, pet transport and the like. At Wag A Tail, we don’t just look after your dog, we make connections!

As founder of Wag A Tail Pawsitting, I have worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds and histories: some happy, some horrid. I am APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers) certified mainly using Clicker Training but also offering other teaching techniques all based on positive reinforcement. I studied dog behavior and canine body language to better understand their social cues and what they are trying to say. I have learned a lot, mostly from the dogs. They truly are remarkable teachers. The greatest lesson I have learned is if you wish to have positive relationships and live in the moment-​think and talk «dog.»
