STRIDES will get you to train at your utmost potential! STRIDES Human Performance Institute was started so individuals young and old could train and unlock their inner strength and potential. Youth athletes looking to improve speed, agility, quickness, strength and power have made varsity squads, gone on to play at collages and universities. Adults have seen amazing results whether it be loosing weight, completing Tough Mudder competitions, recovering from injury, or just looking for that high intensity workout that won’t get them hurt. Our clients and members have been able to accomplish all this through well design annual training plans, education, and consistency.

History

Established in 2004.

STRIDES HPI started with its sole owner, Len Haggerty, looking to train athletes after completing a Masters Degree in Exercise and Performance. The first group was a local youth middle-school girls basketball team. In addition, STRIDES incorporated the training athlete approach to training adults, but in a more functional training method, the first to do so in the Pioneer Valley. As word spread, more athletes and teams started training at STRIDES, in addition, local College and Professional athletes. STRIDES began teaching Sports Pump, a high-intensity, functional training, adult group class at the Northampton Athletic Club. With the success of the youth and the adult services STRIDES was granted its own 575 sqft area inside the athletic club. In 2009, STRIDES relocated to a 2000 sqft facility with astro turf, Olympic platform, multi-station power rack, with all the training toys one could want. Present day STRIDES is still in this location with 2 additional trainers, Jeremy and Sean.
