Madeleine Kirsh opened the world’s largest vintage showroom in a 10,000 square foot space. She created a wonderland of fashion with different vignettes showcasing designs from the last 100 years. The thousands of pieces on display are personally chosen by Madeleine and represent the quality of clothing throughout history. With tremendous international publicity the store has become a meeting place for the worldwide fashion community. On any given day you may run into an A list celebrity, a stylist «pulling» for their next shoot or a leading designer looking for inspiration for next season’s creations. Although VOGUE called it «Miami’s best kept secret,» C. Madeleine’s is best described as one of ‘the fashion wonders of the world’. Now Madeleine has decided to take her concept worldwide and opened an e-​commerce store which features treasures just as fabulous as those found in her N. Miami store.

In 1998, Madeleine Kirsh opened her first store in Palm Beach County, Florida. Madeleine’s reputation as an interior decorator had been built on her love of the unusual. By combining this with her vast knowledge of fashion, she quickly developed a loyal following and the store was an instant success. With business thriving and a growing international clientele, it was inevitable the next step would be a move to Miami.

An amazing 10,000 square foot space was found on Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach. The free standing building had great parking, was conveniently located and large enough to fulfill Madeleine’s dream — the world’s largest vintage showroom. C. Madeleine’s was born. She took the space and truly transformed it into a wonderland of fashion with different vignettes showcasing designs from the last 100 years. Probably the best vintage designer store in the world!
When you walk into C Madelines you know something magical is happening there. Never before have I been lucky enough to see such a collection and find some rare museum quality designer items. The only thing I can say is if you know designers and appreciate fashion, you will fall in love with this store. You can get lost in the different era’s in the store and come out with pure fashion gems … That no one else will ever have.
Some pieces can be expensive but they are collectors items that you will have for life.
And If you are lucky enough to meet Madeline you will fall deeper in love with the store. The vogue like looking fashionista has big black glasses and always looks like she has stepped off a cover of a magazine. Sweet, kind and the most educated in designer vintage I have met.
I own a luxury concierge company, deal with celebrities every day and have a show called Luxury Lifestyles on NBC and I was and remain a true fan!

Years ago I was stunned and amazed by this wonderland of vintage clothing. At the time I was an art and antiques dealer. I would come across vintage clothing many times. So, I turned to C. madeleines to consign at least 100 items.
To make a long story short, I was ripped off by this woman. My many attempts to be paid for items sold and to eventually get my possessions back were futile. I lost thousands of dollars worth of items because they «couldn’t locate them». I fought with them for a long time and gave up. I was going through a divorce and leaving the state, I didn’t have it in me to get my items back.
Yes, beautiful items, maybe you just purchased a piece of my stolen clothing. Never, ever consign with this woman. They conveniently misplace things.

I have been bringing vintage clothing to C Madeleine’s for several years now, and I am totally satisfied with this establishment. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. The owners are very nice. While I only visit when I am consigning because I live over an hour away, I still enjoy looking at all the fabulous finds that are throughout the store. I absolutely love the vintage jewelry that is there and there is quite a bit. I want it all! The prices might be high for some people — this is not a thrift shop or a regular clothing store, but there is something there for everyone. The clothes and purses are magnificent and always appear to be in excellent condition. Unfortunately, like in any store, customers can inadvertently damage or dirty something and not tell the staff. It is impossible to monitor every piece of clothing in a store this size. Do go and see for yourself the wonderful jewelry and clothing. You will not be disappointed. In every big city there is always a vintage shop that is huge and loaded with fabulous stuff, and C Madeleine’s is one of them.

This place is insane; in every sense of the word. The store is huge and finding «gems» are hard and tricky. The layout is not aesthetically pleasing. Some of the staff are helpful; others not so much. Their staff seem unhappy. They give you a tour if you’re not familiar with the place but it is an eerie environment. Actually I knew a girl once that worked there and left because the owners (husband and wife team) were quite bipolar and condescending in their ways. I’m sure the turnover of employees is quite high. They overprice their merchandise. Therealreal has much better merchandise (selection, prices, website, customer service etc). I have also heard numerous complaints from consignors similar to the ones expressed here. Their merchandise is usually damaged (dog pee/​poop, torn, worn, dusty, falling apart at the seams. you name it). I’ve shopped there a few times while in Miami but haven’t been back because I will not support a business that operates in the manner that they do. You may be able to find a «gem» if you look really hard and have about five hours to spare. The name of this store should just be shortened to C.MAD. That is actually what you will find; madness.

I was selling my vintage designer merchandise there. First year was nice experience I thought. This year it really got out of control. You can’t get your money paid for months. Every time I would call they would say call next month and so forth. Michele, who seems to be in charge of the phone answering would be very arrogant and rude to you.
I requested my collections to return back to me. What a surprise when I came to pick it up! It was not all in place. I am sure some was sold, but I was told to come back for the rest of it in a few weeks. They question you when you ask for your money to be paid and if it’s sold they wouldn’t even mention to you.
Frankly speaking I thought this was the best store in Miami. Not any more.
Still didn’t get my remaining merchandise back, didn’t get paid for what ever wasn’t returned not any one contacted me as I was promised.

There website states they are open on Sundays from 12−5pm. When we arrived they were having a «yard sale,» which I guess means the store is not open just the yard sale portion. (It was raining the day we went) when we walked in the front door there were just racks and racks of clothing. We go to the end and found we were blocked in and when we asked how we get to the other parts of the store they said it was not open. (Even though the website says it was open – no mention of a yard sale) there were more employees crowding the door so you could barely get through. Overall not a great experience and was in and out in under 5 minutes

Something about a yard sale and getting rained out. Looks like they had a lot of cool stuff. Shame they don’t seem to have their 5h1t together.

Stay away from C Madelines in North Miami Beach. They have an attitude problem
and the management, (owners Richard and Madeline Kirsh) are unprofessional and do not do business in a professinal manner. They have LOST $ 500 worth of items I brought in to the store to sell and refuse to reimburse me for the lost and/​or stolen items. They bully and yell at clients. The very clients who support this business.
Beware of giving them anything on consignment, you’ll be lucky to ever see your money or get your items back! After reading other reviews on Unilocal, I see now that I am not the only one who has had this experience with C Madelines.
DO NOT SUPPORT BUSINESS OWNERS WHO HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOU OR YOUR EXPENSIVE ITEMS!!! Take your things elsewhere… there are much better consignment stores in the Miami area who would never dream of treating their clients like garbage. I rate this store ZERO stars!!! They don’t deserve any stars, not even 1 !

Consigners Beware. I tried to consign an Herve Leger bandage skirt which (not surprisingly) did not sell for the inflated price of $ 500. When I finally got it back, it was dirty and they had cut the Herve Leger label cut out, so now I can’t even sell it on my own for a decent price. After complaining to some friends, I hear this happens a lot and I was lucky to even get my pieces back at all.

They have a TON of clothes but the cost is ridiculous if you ask me. $ 200 for dress that isn’t even a designer dress! Idk it was a bit costumy and if your producing a movie/​music video/​documentary, you get the point, then this place is for you but not if your an average joe looking for something cute to wear.

This is a huge store and they have a lot of very interesting vintage pieces.

It’s really like you just walked into a clothing and accessories museum but you can touch the items on display. I’m not sure where or why some reviewers are calling this shop a «thrift» store. Cause it’s NOT. What it’s good for is inspiration, or if you are looking for a really special piece to wear to a special engagement of some fabulous sort. You don’t come here looking to stock your closet.
The ladies at the front counter were super helpful and even gave us a quick tour of the areas where merchandise is grouped. Total delightful way to kill some time during crazy rain.

C. Madeleine’s is truly a hidden gem. Gems from all eras you will find in this unassuming place. From the hustle and bustle of Biscayne, you will barely notice it. Once you enter through the doors it is a dress-​up play land for adults.
You must leave your purses and packages at the door. They give you a key to a locker to keep your junk in their trunks safe. They do not allow photography so keep those phone cameras in check. I was very politely asked to not take photographs. Apparently many designers come here for inspiration. I can see why. It is a breathtaking place full of history. I can just imagine all of the stories behind each garment. Pretty awesome.
Kevin was our guide. Perfectly coiffed and manicured he walked us through the entire store. Everything is sorted by eras. The men’s section is rather sad but who cares? We were ladies looking to get our fancy retro on.
The 40s was my favorite section. The swimsuit section was so fun. I loved those retro suits that hugs curves back when women had curves. We tried on a couple of feathered chapeaus as we strolled through the 20−30s. The ethnic section was quite rad and we found an umbrella hat that my friend Bean bought in Thailand for about 50 cents. At Madeleine’s it will cost you about 45 bux. But hey, a girl’s gotta eat.
They have a couture section with dresses that will cost as much as a compact car. The Chanel section is incredible. From shoes to dresses to glasses and what looks like Jackie Kennedy’s wardrobe, you will absolutely adore the walk through memory lane.
You will absolutely need a sugar daddy to afford almost anything in this gorgeous collective. Try here

The Happiest Place on Earth! For fashion lovers like me, there is no place like C. Madeleine’s… The biggest and the best collection of clothing, accessories and jewelry from the beginning of the 1900s all the way to contemporary designs.
I couldn’t be happier in the 4 hours I stayed in the store on my first visit. I was able to find the most amazing original vintage pieces that I simply can’t describe with words. They carry vintage Dior, Galanos, Halston, Thierry Mugler (my favorite!), YSL, Chanel, the list is long… The prices compared to New York City prices are nothing for what you are getting, so I couldn’t recommend more…

Unfortunately for C. Madelines, there’s this great thing called Etsy… oh and if you’re ever in San Francisco on the first Sunday of the month — the Alameda Point Antique Fair. Why do I say that? Well, I’ve started to amass a vintage clothing and hat collection. I was very excited to come here as vintage is hard to come by in Miami…
Well, I found some things that are virtually the same thing in my closet — actually one thing was precisely the same (cashmere and mink cardigan) and the prices were 3 to 5 times more expensive than what I purchased the item for — and in no where the same shape. So while there is a huge assortment of vintage clothing, I found many with stains, tears, and generally overpriced.
I don’t know if I would buy anything from here because I’m afraid that I would be being ripped off… maybe I’m just picky.

Great vintage store and the best in Miami! It doesn’t look like much (or as big) from the outside but prepare to enter the history of fashion and spend hours going through it! C. Madeleine’s offer the best selection of all different era’s and items from furs, dresses, shoes, and gowns to umbrellas and costume jewelry. Great selection of vintage designers– Chanel, YSL, Pucci, DVF, etc. They also have a section for men. Staff is friendly and prices are steep. But really what vintage store with everything in mint condition wouldn’t be? You must go!

According to a verifiable source, he’s been spotted at this curator of all things vintage. Just sensibly flipping through the selections looking for inspiration for his own line.
My eyes have never witnessed a place so thoroughly packed with high quality vintage clothing and accessories. It’s practically the Tiffany’s of vintage. And by Tiffany’s, I mean a sort of place where you walk in bright eyed, inspired, and knowing that your taste level has somehow been elevated because of your visit. And by TIffany’s, I also mean that it’s a place that you’ll have to make a marked financial investment. But I’m ok with the prices here. These are investment pieces. Garments kept so pristine, grouped by era and color. This is not a raggedy thrift store or a hipster’s Beacon’s Closet. This is a homage to our past fashion sensibility. A sensibility that we’ve sadly lost in modern times.

To echo Noelle’s sentiment, this is FASHION HEAVEN! I’m an avid vintage shopper and I have never seen such an amazing collection of important pieces together in one space. It’s like a museum of fashion with garments and jewelry going all the way back to the victorian era. There are some real TREASURES to be unearthed here.
Now please note that these pieces are very iconic and for the most part the non-​labeled gowns and dresses range from $ 200 to $ 375 so it’s definitely not a place where you’ll get dirt cheap vintage. On the other hand she has scads of Valentino, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Pierre Cardin, Thierry Mugler, Sonia Rykiel, Versace, Bob Mackie and more for very reasonable prices.
I literally spent 3 hours here and the first hour I just wandered around in slack jawed amazement. I wasn’t ready to drop $ 600 on a gown, but if I have an event, I’ll definitely fly here to purchase something.
In the end I perused her «basement» section which had some great Lacroix, Sisley and other pieces on sale and scored an AMAZING 50’s party dress for around sixty dollars. VICTORY!!!
This is gonna be a stop on every one of my Miami trips from now on. It’s probably the best vintage store I’ve ever been in.

Here quantity trumps quality. I appreciate fashion and its history and those who know me know I love a good bargain but will also pay top dollar for a rare piece. This is not your average «thrifty» thrift though, hence the emphasis on the word thrift.
A very similar belt I bought at Fly Boutique on Lincoln Road for $ 20, the overprized C. Madeliene’s was asking for a very high $ 80. OUCH!
My boyfriend came across some Kuna Indian (name of the indigenous people of Panama) «Molas» art which would have perfectly match one at home he picked up for $ 20 while in Panama. C. Madeliene’s price, $ 450.00. At first we thought she said $ 45 but nope, it was no mistake. The price was negotiable but in the hundreds. Someone with no knowledge of the piece would be majorly ripped off.
Yes, the place is by far the largest vintage store I’ve visited so prepare to be overwhelmed with loads of accessories and clothes. They carry both men’s and women’s clothing and I am sure those who dig find, but can’t guarantee the price will be right. The best place for your wallet may just be the locker they make you store your purse in because price and quality are no match here.
