I did a walk in and went with JOSE. I went before with someone else for just a trim. But today full hair cut and color and style! He did amazing!!! I’ll be coming back and going with him! Super happy with my hair!

Worst experience in my life my hair is ruined, and 5inches shorter than when I went in!

I get my hair done by Crystal, she’s awesome, I have been coming to her for the last couple of months. I love the environment, everyone is extra friendly, and I never have a problem getting in, she is very flexible.

Crystal Blake attempted to do white/​grey hair on me. when I came in my hair was already a white blonde I just needed my roots done she bleached my roots twice and toned it grey but when I left I noticed my roots where really yellow so she had me come back a few days later. When I came back I asked if my hair would be fine bleaching it again questioning her to make sure my hair wouldn’t break/​fall out she said it would be fine. After bleaching it for a third time I ended up with hand fulls of hair coming out and a huge bald spot on the top of my head. She said sorry and convinced me that it can be covered. I had no breakage prior to coming to her and my hair was platinum when I first came to her. Do not use crystal if you want to go platinum blonde!

Love it, Crystal did a fabulous job, hubby went in and was able to make a same day appointment, i get off work at 4pm, appointment was for 5pm, needed color and cut… The hours on the door say close at 6pm, it took 3 hours, I thought she was going to start rushing (I’ve had other salons do it) but there were no complaints and was very patient and it looks amazing!!! Love it! Thank you!!!

Love it! Crystal did such an amazing job. I went from dark auburn to Ariel red and my hair feels and looks amazing! It’s super soft and it doesn’t look like there is any damage at all. I couldn’t be happier! Thank you!

Fuck this place i hope this places is happy for what they did i will never recommend that anyone ever go’s to this place where the owner no nothing about doing hair and how hard it really is my hair got so fuck up and im a guy the most easy hair cut u can do and they fuck it up and the new owner would do nothing about it so fuck this places plz listen to me and do not go there

Went to have my hair done for my WEDDING. My regular had an emergency and had to go out of town. So one of the other girls filled for me. It was a simple half up do with curls (not hard at all) Kaylee was the girl who filled in and after 90 mins of her doing my hair. And I saw it. I told her I don’t have much curls. Her response was «well you can take a curling iron to the chapel and re curl it» I didn’t spend $ 75 on my hair for my wedding day to have to end up doing my hair anyway. One of my bridesmaids had to spend an hour on my hair in the middle of the reception that is ridiculous. I did contact Kaylee about it and sent her pics of my hair and ask for either a full refund or some of it. And she took a whole day to reply to me. And when she did she said that she doesn’t give refunds but that she could do my hair for free next time. I told her why would I go back to you if you didn’t do my hair correctly the first time. I contacted my regular girl to let her know that I will no longer be coming to her or platinum hair studio! I would not recommend platinum hair studio!!! Especially for weddings! It’s the one day that you want your hair to look good for pictures and half of my pictures are going to be with straight hair!!!

Been getting my hair needs attended to for many years by Jennifer. I trust her completely for her advise and experience. She and her staff keeps up on the trends and my hair has been the strongest, shiniest, and healthiest in years. I don’t remember the last time my hair was this long. Best place I have found in years to trust with my hair. I go every 6 weeks and i don’t trust anyone else. She is like family to me.

I got very lucky my first time here I had Shayn do my cut and color. He’s awesome! He took my hair from a strange red/​blondish brownish color all the way to almost platinum. He is supper cool and makes sure your comfortable. The salon is really cute too. I already set up my next appointment with Shayn for my retouch.

Jaymee Galvan was my stylist! She did an awesome job highlighting and cutting my hair just in time for summer!!! She knows what she’s doing (being a color specialist). She was very professional and attended to my needs. I would definitely recommend her to anyone I know. Thanks Jaymee!!!

Had I read all the bad Unilocal reviews before going into this salon, I know for a FACT that I would have never tried it. Wow! Yikes!
I’m fairly new to Vegas and looking to try out different salons and stylists to find «the one». I figured Groupon would be the best way to do this because let’s face it: if they treat you well with a Groupon, then I believe they will continue to do so. I purchased a Groupon and made an appointment.
I was skeptical, as my GPS lead me down the other side of Craig Rd and I had to call and back track. There’s 30 minutes of my life that I’m not getting back.
However…
I had my hair done by Heather C. and had a great experience. We discussed what my hair needed and what I wanted done, and she got it right. I’m glad she suggested the upgraded conditioning treatment, I love it. My hair color came out perfectly and in record time. As long as Heather is doing hair here, I will go back. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Heather. Great job and soooo worth it!

So I needed my hair cut & layered. I figured I’d go on Groupon to see what they have on there. I chose Platinum because I saw some of the reviews. Purchased the basic haircut, deep conditioning, & style package. Apparently these people frown upon Groupon. If you don’t like it, then get rid of it duh! Anyways, I have medium curly thick hair obviously. Definitely not what any of them are used to. Every time one girl would walk by me «OMG you have thick hair!» I know this ok thanks.
To get to the point the wash/​condition was just alright. The cutting/​layering, not the best at all. Stacy blew dry my hair & told me if I wanted it flat ironed it’d be an extra $ 30(I figured that’d be the style part). No thanks, I’ll do that myself for free. Overall, my layers are barely noticeable, bangs were cut way too short, and I walked out looking ridiculous.
If you have any type of thickness, curly, or ethnic hair just look elsewhere for a hair cut.

Stay far away from this place!!! they are more worried about gossiping and texting on their phones than actually satisfying clients.
The first time I came here last year I saw Megan and my hair looked amazing. Best hair cut I had ever had. So I decided to come back when I saw a groupon special. I figured why not I like this salon and I’ll save a little money. I bought the Groupon for full highlights and lowlights and called to book an appt. The receptionist informed me that Megan no longer worked there and Laudine would be doing my hair. I was a little disappointed but figured Laudine would be just as good but boy was i wrong. As soon as I sat in the chair and she found out I had a groupon she couldn’t care less about what I really wanted. She also asked me who I had previously had do my hair and I said Megan. She then proceeded to tell me some story about how Megan was stealing and she was a horrible person. I was shocked at how unprofessional she was being and how she was airing her salons dirty laundry In front of her client. From then it was all down hill. My hair is extremely thick and all I wanted was blonde highlights and burgundy lowlights to compliment my red hair. I explained this to her and she said she would make it happen. The foil job she did on my hair was scary. I could see the bleach coming out of the foil and running on to my lowlights. I pointed this out to her and she said oh you’ll be fine that happens. I spent less than 10 mins under the dryer for my hair to set before she started washing it out. In my head I knew what was going to happen but I didn’t want to think about it. She spent less than ten mins on my cut and did a half ass blow dry and style, because by this time her and the other stylist were so worried about what party they were going to she rushed everything. When I looked at my hair I was so dissappointed my highlights were uneven and the blonde had ran down into the burgundy now giving me pink chunks of color in my hair. I once again pointed this out to her and she said it’ll be fine after you first wash out thinking I was that stupid or something. I was so disappointed my hair was ruined. BELIEVE ME save your money and do not come here. The unprofessional ism and lack of expertise will do nothing but upset you. They don’t care about Groupon customers.
A little advice Platinum hair studio spend a little less time gossiping and talking trash about other stylists that aren’t around and a little more time caring about your clients. If you don’t like groupon customers then don’t waste our time by putting deals on there!!!

I paid sixty dollars, plus tip, to have stylist Tatiana M color my hair. I described what I wanted and she pulled up a picture. So her understanding was fantastic. Sadly her execution was abysmal. I ended up with three shades of purple hair instead of the grey platinum envisioned. Although we talked, by the time Tatiana offered to attempt to fix the job, I had more than a quarter inch of growth and had to fix it myself – which I did in one session, at home, with dye and a mix of toners. For six bucks.
I gave her the opportunity to make this right, and she didn’t jump on it. Moreover, the manager, and Tatiana, were perfectly wiling to take my money and let me walk out of that studio completely dissatisfied.
This type of service does not allow me to recommend them to anyone. Tatiana was great, but I had live with horrid hair and pay 60 dollars plus tip for the lesson. Perhaps I should have been more assertive. However, I think the words, «I am not happy with this work because it is three shades of dark purple.» are sufficient

I visited Platinum Hair Studio after finding a Groupon for partial highlights. I will say that I go to a salon approximately once every other year primarily because I never really seem to find the time, so keep that in mind if you’re reading this.
I had the partial highlights and a trim by Laudine (I hope I spelled that right). She was great. Definitely straight-​forward and a couple other people were asking for her advice while I was there. I had purple highlights done, which is a lot of work because my hair is naturally black and has to be bleached out before colored; she explained all that to me and it didn’t take nearly as long as I was expecting. Definitely recommend Laudine.
As for the salon itself, it was decorated nicely but there really was no separate waiting area, the couches/​chairs are near the door and register and also in the middle of the room. It didn’t bother me, but they weren’t horribly busy when I went there either.

Disappointed.
Problem: Address and number on Unilocal is outdated, poor customer service and poor customer recognition
Story: Drove 35 minutes to the location on Unilocal,called the salon (googled the # since Unilocal has the wrong one) to find out that Unilocal was outdated, no apology or empathy from employer on the phone, just asked if I wanted to reschedule. Drove another 30 min across town to make my 3:00pm appt. Again, no apology or empathy for me as a customer that drove an hour. And she confirmed that she remembered me from the phone call. Then told me there was a 25 minute wait. I canceled right away. The same lady from the phone and the front desk that I had been in contact with said «ok». And that’s it.
Wasted a groupon. I don’t appreciate not being recognized or valued as a customer from emotionless or employees that lack empathy.

My stylist is Mariana, I waited to write my review until I returned the second time.
First time to Platinum was using a groupon and I was able to schedule an apt for the same day. Had a great experience is a sweet heart and did a great job working with me to get the cut I wanted.
I returned again to get my second cut and again great experience, the scheduling always works well for me always she’s always ready on time and I havent seen people waiting around for their stylist either.
This time we did something an little different with my hair but also great cut. She’s great about working with me even when I don’t have a picture and keeps checking in with me on length/​framing/​bangs and all that.
I definitely recommend studio, thanks again!
Oh and before I forget its very inexpensive compared to other places, I think its a good deal for a great cut.

One star, only because I have to give one.
My mother in law comes into this salon to color her hair and speaks wonders of this place. I was in need of a salon to do my up-​do as I was a bridesmaid and wanted my hair to look polished.
I am new to the North Las Vegas area so I went ahead and felt comfortable with calling the salon to set up a consultation time with whoever was available on the time/​date requested based on my mother in law’s comments. I was given an appointment with Mariana, who seemed great on the phone. I showed up to the consultation appointment & the hair dresser was not there. I was told by a different stylist that Mariana was probably on the way. 20 – 25 minutes later, no stylist and the other folks there didn’t acknowledge my presence. This should have been a red flag from the beginning but I thought I would give the salon a chance.
I went up to the counter to grab Mariana’s business card. Her cell phone was printed on them so I was able to text her and ask if I should come back at a later time. I had a quick response asking if I was the girl coming in for an up-​do consultation? Really? As that text came through, a different stylist walked out and introduced herself as Bianca. She let me know that Mariana was ill & she apologized for not realizing I had arrived as she was coloring someone else’s hair and was actually expecting me. I sat down and looked at a few pictures and we had a great conversation. I explained what I wanted, and I was comfortable again, thinking I was in good hands.
The day of the appointment I arrive and Bianca was busy finalizing a coloring appointment that ran late. She was upfront about it and she knew that I was on a tight window to get out of the salon to continue with my bridesmaid duties. She offered the hand of another stylist who was free (did not catch her name– fair skinned, younger Hispanic girl??). I went ahead and said yes just to get my hair done; trusting that this new person knew what they were doing. Boy was I wrong!
I asked for a half up/​half down do. (Curled on bottom, with some hair twisted back and placed under a poof). The stylist curled my hair just fine, but when it came to the poof/​top part of the do… it was HORRIBLE. She could not get the poof done properly and rather than making my hair look smooth and polished, it looked uneven and rough as if I had been playing with my hair at home. It felt like a nest was sitting on to the top part of my head; heavy and tight with hairspray. The curls however, were falling fast because she didn’t use enough hairspray. She was great at pinning my poof and kept focusing on that, but never with smoothing the front out; I even had some hair sticking out like a horn and all she did was tuck it in and set it with hairspray!
This had to constantly re-​fix the top/​front and I should have complained when I noticed all the other stylists kept staring at me with big eyes– as they too seemed to be in disbelief that she could not get it right. I finally felt disappointed enough to where I just agreed that it looked good because I needed to get out of there. I kept my cool and paid — heck I even tipped her out of courtesy! I knew the bride had a hair stylist in her hotel room so I had to rush over to squeeze myself in and get the atrocious hair-​do fixed for an additional cost.
However, lesson learned. I am NEVER coming back here whether it be for a hair do or for coloring. I was bounced around from the start, and when I was finally taken care of, it was a disaster with someone who clearly didn’t know what they were doing. I wish I would have shared all this in person with the manager but I had bigger duties to take care of than make a scene at a hair salon. All other patrons, beware!
