Top End Performance

I have to say I cannot tell you about the quality of parts or work that TEP Provides. Only because I did not get that far. I dropped my bmw engine off to get a quote for a rebuild. After a week of back and forth via email, I was still no closer to knowing what work it needed or the price I would have to pay. Instead I was given useless information about the price of small items that TEP said I needed.
I was finally quoted a price for the rebuild which was too steep for me. I requested my engine back and I said I would pay the cost of inspection and evaluation.
When I arrived to pick up my engine, I asked to see a comprehensive list of work that my engine needed since I was paying for an inspection and evaluation not babysitting my engine. I was not given one.
In fact upon my request I was yelled at, accused of stealing from them, accused of not paying for legitimate work, personally insulted and threatened. I eventually grabbed my parts, threw them in my trunk and drove off.
Never have I encountered a shop owner so disrespectful, condescending and arrogant as Steve at Top End Performance. I was in fear of my safety. I plead you, NEVER buy ANYTHING at TEP. Do not give them a single penny of your money.

I could write many pages of text describing the incompetence, negligence and downright fraud I encountered after I had the misfortune to buy a «Big Brake» kit from Top End Performance, but I will try to make it short. Here’s a short list:
1. The people who answer the phone at TEP know nothing about the kits they are selling, but they don’t tell you that. Instead, they give you incorrect information.
2. They told me to grind the rotors to make them clear the heatshields. I later figured out that the correct solution is to trim the heatshields. Grinding the rotors caused brake failure when the seal blew out; fortunately it happened during brake testing so there was no loss of life.
3. They told me to plug up one hole in the rotor and run a single line. This causes the brakes to appear to be working normally, until you try an emergency stop, then you experience brake failure. Luckily I found this out during testing so there was no loss of life.
4. They did not know what car the caliper was from that they sold me. Totally clueless.
5. The kit is incomplete, and the instructions are wrong. Following the instructions leave you with a non-​working brake system.
I could go on and on about the endless lies and refusal to accept responsibility for their product, but I’ll make it short and say «Please don’t ever buy anything from Top End Performance!»

Wow, poped in here today for a Weber set screw and left with not only the replacement part but 2 filters and a whole lot a questions answered. Steve’s wealth of information helped me realize not only what I needed for my carbs, but more importantly what I do not need. Great company, and I look forward to coming back.

These guys are a parts supplier for the restoration of old classic BMWs. They advertise a replacement radiator for the old BMW 2002 model as an aluminum radiator for this model, a potentially valuable item because these models need extra cooling capacity. However, what they shipped was the commonly-​sold BMW 320i plastic and aluminum radiator which is not a direct replacement for the 2002 part. When I shipped it back to them, they didn’t issue me a credit until I complained to my credit card company. Then they subtracted a restocking fee in spite of the fact that they shipped a product that was not what they advertised. In short, they LIE! Don’t waste your time and money with these guys.
