Gallery @ Noho Commons

After looking around at other apartment buildings in the area, it was clear that The Gallery @ NoHo Commons was the place for us to call home. Jen and her team really went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome after our long move to LA. The building, amenities, and apartment are well maintained and modern. Jen gave us an awesome tour of the place without making us feel pressured to decide — it was her hospitality and friendliness that played a huge role in our return and final decision. She was very helpful during the application process as well, helping to expedite our approval so we were able to move in quickly. The location is more than ideal, short walks away from the Metro, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, etc. Amenities include covered/​gated parking, in-​unit washer/​dryer, balcony, hot tub, pool, grilling area, gym, sound proof recording room, free printing, and security guards.
So far, so good — loving it here!

Absolutely love this place. First time I’ve felt «At Home» since being in California for over a year now. The staff consists of these genuinely nice people: Jenifer, Katie, Sonia, Monique, and Corey. Every time you walk in the door you’re greeted with a smile, and it’s very refreshing. :) The pool, hot tub, dance studio, and gym, are absolutely beautiful… Got to get that fitness time in. Oh and it’s also very well kept, whether it be landscaping, cleanliness in the halls, etc, it definitely meets the 5 star quality.

After an extensive apartment search I finally settled on The Gallery, mainly because of the location, amenities (read: in-​unit washer/​dryer) and cleanliness/​building condition. I had no idea I would also be getting amazing customer service. The staff here is extremely helpful and will go above and beyond to make you feel at home. It really made the difference with me moving from the opposite coast!
Special shout out to Jenifer Nagle. We did the walkthrough and made note of a very minor dent in the fridge. Just wanted to be sure it was doc’d so I wouldnt be responsible for it, and she made a joke saying she’d find a magnet to cover it. On move-​in day I was greeted by a brand new fridge AAAND a Welcome to LA magnet!

The Gallery at NOHO in North Hollywood is a great place to live. The staff is excellent and very responsive. We just renewed our lease.
I want to especially point out the great work that Jenifer Nagle, Rosie and Rafael the leader of the maintenance team as they all do a fantastic job.
The Community is well located and captures the essence of NOHO.
Thanks to a great staff and their ability to make it great to live here.

I love The Gallery! I just moved to NoHo from Arkansas and I feel right at home here! Everything has been wonderful! The only complaint is the false fire alarms that randomly go off every once in awhile, and my washer had a problem but it got fixed very quickly! Love this place

For an «upscale» building in NoHo, this place sure has some work to do.
This huge apartment complex is located behind the NoHo metro station, and has gated entry. The parking lot is huge, and the guest parking is found on the top floor of the complex.
The issue here is mainly the crowd that inhabits this place. It gets pretty loud at times, even in the middle of the night. This is something you would expect out of UCLA housing, but not out of an apartment complex in gentrified NoHo. The crowd here is not too great, and I’ve ran into some wannabe thugs here.
As far as housing, I’m sticking with the south bay. For anyone looking for housing in NoHo, be critical of what you see in this place.

The gallery is a beautiful place to live and conveniently located with everything you need within walking distance. The staff is helpful and replies quickly. Especially Jenifer Nagle! She’s the best. She’s incredibly helpful, friendly, and I will miss her as my land lord.

This place is really great with friendly neighbors and even better staff. I came from San Francisco in July of 2015 and I’m extremely happy with choosing this place after visiting this and many other «modern» buildings in the area. The grounds are well kept, there is security for the garages and the units themselves are perfect. My favorite amenity is the pool, accessible in the courtyard and also the balcony that my apartment has looking out toward the mountains. Did I mention the staff were amazing, too? They are always smiling, friendly and even deliver packages during the Winter Holiday. Maintenance is prompt and communication about issues is done in a timely manner with a satisfactory resolution. I wish every experience with an apartment was as good at this one. I’ll definitely be staying here for awhile.

If you enjoy constant noise at all hours of the night, the smell of marijuana, people running through the hallways, loud music in the hallways, unresolved maintenance issues, and unresponsive management staff than this is the place for you.
Initially I had written a great review about Noho commons but after being there for 3 months everything went down hill fast. This is not a place I would recommend or a place to have children.
For the price of rent, you’d expect to be able to come home to a nice quiet environment but that is not the case.

The complex is in a GREAT location, with everything in walking distance. And my apartment unit itself is in a very convenient spot right next to the elevator, stairs, trash chute, and my parking spot.
The maintenance staff is very efficient. There were a couple repairs to be made at move in and they came in immediately to fix them, no problem at all.
SOMEONE needs to regulate and monitor the pet trash can on Cumpston St. There’s SOOO much poop EVERYWHERE (grass and sidewalk). Good luck getting across the grass at night without stepping on some.

I moved in at the beginning of December and I absolutely love it so far. Jen in the office has been so welcoming and friendly with everything. She wasn’t working on our move in day, but Sonia was extremely helpful. All the ladies in the office are great.

The amenities are really nice. I’ve used the gym a few times and there is a decent amount of equipment in there. Other tenants are usually in there, but it’s never crowded. And there’s a dance studio. The pool is really nice. I can’t wait until it gets warm and I can check it out.
The only problem I have is that there is trash EVERYWHERE. I am always finding beer bottles in the stairwell, in the hallways, by the elevator, and in the garage. There don’t seem to be any trash cans around the community, which I think would help. There are only trash chutes on each level of the garage. But even the trash rooms are usually overcrowded with trash bags from people too lazy to drop it in the chute.
Overall, I have really enjoyed living here and think it is the best pick over all the other places in the area.

I moved into the Gallery in October of 2015. My experience has been a great one. Here are some key points:
1) Katie and Jen in the office are fantastic. They are very nice and extremely helpful. They truly want you to feel like you are at home and they do everything they can to make it that way for you.
2) Maintenance. All places need upkeep and repairs. Period. That’s not the issue. The issue is how are those repairs done? I have been impressed with Rafael and his crew. The repairs are not just temporary fixes, but true repairs. They want to do it right, and they want you to be pleased with what was done. They have stated that to me directly, and have followed up when I thought something additional was needed.
3) Amenities. I comparison-​shopped a lot before deciding to live here. This place brings a lot of things together that other places don’t: in-​unit washer and dryer, refrigerator, gas stove, garbage disposal, attractive appliances, balcony, window blinds, and package pickup (they keep your packages for you until you can pick them up). You don’t have to spend anything additional to make your place livable. It’s also more modern, which I prefer. As others have said, the common areas also have wifi, pool, hot tub, dance studio, gym, sound studio, and computers/​printers. There is also a complete online system for paying rent, putting in maintenance requests, getting package notifications, and receiving other notifications (like when food trucks will be coming by!)
4) Convenience. Things within a 10 – 15 minute walk: grocery store, drug store, post office, the Metro Red Line and bus terminal, three dentists, several doctors, urgent care (right around the corner), a bank, two gyms, three coffee shops, loads of restaurants, a theater, and a great little bar. Most of the time, I just walk wherever I want to go. You can live here day-​to-​day without a car, and I do.

Moved here from West Hollywood and absolutely love this place. Great neighborhood, love the amenities: Pool and workout facility are great, and this place has a dance studio! I mean, I don’t dance, I never use it, but how many people can say their building has a dance studio! What really won me over is the office staff. Katie & Jennifer are amazing, so incredibly nice! There’s a good sense of community here. Can’t wait to meet more of my neighbors. If I had to pick one area of improvement I would say I think the fixtures could use an upgrade. Would prefer better quality tubs and sinks (in terms of material and small size) but maybe I’m just being picky ;). By no means a deal breaker. I love my apartment and am happy to call it home :).

I moved into the Gallery around February, 2015 and the ladies of the gallery (Katie, Veronica, and Jen) have been nothing but helpful.
I had some air-​conditioning issues during this summer and the staff were prompt about resolving my issue. Just like any other place that I have leased there are its ups and downs. I can confidently say that the Managment here has been one of the best that I’ve dealt with. Indeed, there are some improvements the complex can work on like its tidiness and security. I can see through the past months, the team has been working on making those kind of changes.

This is by far the worst apartment complex in North Hollywood. STAY AWAY!!!
If I could give zero stars, I would. Here are some of the horrible things that I had to deal with while living there.
1. Homeless guy sleeping in the stairwell. If you enjoy being scared to death at 6 am because a homeless man is banging on the stairwell. Apparently I was disturbing his sleep. go ahead and live at the gallery.
2. The fire alarm goes off almost weekly in the middle of the night.
3. Loud tenants
4. Random people walking around the complex who clearly do not live there.
5. Dog feces EVERYWHERE. Who knows it may be human as well.
6. The stairwell smells like urine.
… the list could go on for a while.
All these things might be manageable if you were planning on paying $ 400 for a 1 bedroom apartment, but paying $ 1800+ you would expect better. They do a great job making the place seem nice from a surface level. They have a pool, Jacuzzi and gym… but what’s the point of having these things if you don’t even feel safe using them.
Unfortunately, I fell for the things that they claimed to offer. I hope you don’t do the same. I ended up wasting $ 1800 a month for rent and being completely miserable while living there. Save your money and live at one of the other complexes in this area.

This place is continually going downhill. Similar to other reviews, there is trash all over the common areas. The trash disposal area is usually filled with trash that people do not throw away. The stairwells are littered with trash and tend to smell like cigarette smoke or urine. Oh and of course there are the alarms. Fire alarms go off 1 – 2 times each week on average because some idiot plays around and pulls the alarm. The alarms tend to go off during the week between 2 and 5am. Terrible if you have to work. I have had several nights of broken sleep. Filter out the Unilocal postings by date and you’ll see the reviews going downhill. It’s a shame, for $ 1800+ dollars a month we (the tenants) deserve better. I challenge management to step up to the plate and resolve these issues!
Until then DO NOT RENT HERE. At some point you will most likely regret it.

08÷23÷15: Thank you Megan for your response. Comments/​suggestions have been made with the management already. Please review the questionnaires that are routinely sent. Lots of feedback was provided. Suggestions include strategically placing trash cans in common areas so trash won’t be left on the floors (or at least less of it). Also, placing speed bumps in both buildings would decrease the chances of a car accident. Some of the tenants/​guests really fly around the parking structure.

I live here — so I have to give it a good review.
But this place deserves it — except for the apartments — which are small for the price. But the grounds are great — and I mean GREAT!
There is a heated pool — multiple hot tubs, a central garden plaza, a gym, a business center, an internet café, a dance studio, a sound studio, free coffee, a beautiful business friendly lobby with couches and tables for meetings, an office with a staff from 9 to 7, a BBQ park, — lots of security, and it is in a great location.
Who cares that my apartment was constructed out of the discount bin at Home Depot.
I love this place.

I have lived here for a year and a half and This has been an excellent place to live!
My girlfriend and I moved here from a total slum and this place is the complete opposite. The staff is extremely professional. They respond to work orders within a day or two (from my experience) and they inform residents far in advance of any work being done to both the property and the unit. My apartment is clean, quiet, modern; in my opinion it is perfect. I WILL say that we live in a top floor outer unit that is far from the main entrances, which is WHY it is so quiet and has no foot traffic from non residents and guests vs. having a unit on the inner areas (especially by the pool), so keep that in mind if you want less noise and strangers walking by.
We are moving out due to relocation reasons. Otherwise, the gallery has been a great place to live! i highly recommend it.

I’ve lived here about 1.5 months now. Here’s my overall experience/​observations in a nutshell:
PROS:
— Nicer, newer apartment complex
— Right across from the metro station (my roomie takes it to get to work)
— In NoHo arts district
— Burbank airport is 10 min away
— Washer/​dryer in EVERY unit (HUGE plus for me)
— Kitchen appliances all included, and mine are in great shape (fridge, oven/​stove, dishwasher, microwave)
— Beautiful apartments
— Gym, dance studio, computer center, pool, hot tub
— Gated parking garage + GUEST PARKING (top level of garage = HUGE plus for me)
— Pet friendly ($ 500 deposit + $ 50/​month pet rent)
— Food truck parked outside the complex every Wednesday evening
— Elevators
— Back gate = perfect for moving trucks
— Really nice and personable leasing staff
CONS:
— EXPENSIVE. Apartments are basically $ 1800+
— I seem to find a lack of security here. I never see security guards anywhere. It bothers me that people see me going into the parking garage and they follow me in because they don’t have a remote. Sketch, much?
— Stairwells smell like pee
— Often smell pot lingering in the hallway, and I have a feeling the potheads in the building may the ones to blame for the fire alarms.
— FIRE ALARMS, FIRE ALARMS, FIRE ALARMS. This is my BIGGEST peeve about this place. I have lived here for 1.5 months and the alarm has gone off 6 times already. Basically almost once a week. My roommate and I nearly had a heart attack the first time it went off because we thought there was a legit fire and we literally evacuated the building with my cat. We soon figured out that as the fire alarms kept happening that they were all false alarms and only last about 1 – 5 minutes each. WHY THE HECK are the fire alarms going off so frequently? It goes off in the ENTIRE complex too (300+ units) which is really frustrating. I cannot stand it.
— Every time I open my dryer, a huge puff of lint flies in my face. I have to wipe down the entire opening of the dryer because it’s covered in lint. Probably have to report it to maintenance.
— Because there is washer/​dryer, it takes the place of a coat closet and I could really use the extra storage space.
— LOUD MUSIC. I haven’t had as big of a problem with it recently, but when I first moved here the music was really just extremely out of control. Because my apartment faces the courtyard/​pool, the noise just bounces around throughout the entire courtyard. The music blaring is extremely obnoxious and lasts anywhere from 10am to well past midnight.
Overall, I am definitely happy that I live in a nice apartment complex instead of getting some sketch ghetto apartment off of Craigslist, but I still not completely happy with the place. The fire alarms are by far my biggest complaint. It really needs to stop happening so frequently. Also some of the tenants there make me feel uncomfortable and look a little sketchy. I have a year lease so I’ll be here for awhile. Will write an updated review in a few months.
