Firestone Complete Auto Care

I’ve been taking cars here for years with consistent results. When repair work has been needed, I have always received an accurate estimate without any unwarranted upsale along with timely completion of the work. The staff is always professional and positive.

I got an inspection and oil change about two months ago. I dropped my car off around 9am and they called me at about 1:30pm telling me what my options were and that it would take them about a half hour to finish it up. I feel like they explained everything clearly and let me know what I should do immediately and might need to do later on. This experience was good, but this morning I called about a weird noise my car was making. They told me to bring it by and someone would look at it. Sure enough as soon as I brought it by someone was able to help me. Ivor immediately knew what was wrong and helped me out. So thankful that he was able to help me so quickly. I was really expecting to have to leave my car there for the day.

As a young female, I feel like many other females can relate when I say mechanics usually treat women with a condescending tone when it comes to car repair, but these guys never make me feel ‘lesser’ or try any of that unnecessary flirting to trick me into getting more work done on my car (unlike other car repair shops in the area).
I’ve gotten routine repairs done as well as bringing them a tricky starter/​transmission problem, and I have gotten a fair price in return. (not cheap, but fair compared to other shenanigans other car shops have put me through)
I’ve been here over three times, and I feel comfortable and relieved to know I have somewhere reliable to take my car.

Took my truck here for a state inspection and oil change. They called me and said I needed a new left outer tie rod end and that my power steering was messed up. I drive this truck 35 miles each way to work every day and have never had a problem with the power steering so I told them I wanted to see the problem.
1. When they brought me into the shop they first told me that I had to wear safety glasses. I wouldn’t have had a problem with this if the employees were wearing them instead of having them sitting on top of their heads.
2. I stood at the front of my truck and the technician (if you can even call him that) got in the cab and started the engine and turned the wheel all the way to the right to the stop and said that the squealing that we heard was the problem. Yes the squealing that happens when you crank your wheel all the way and hold it there apparently isn’t normal. I told them to put the tires back on the truck and I would take it somewhere else.
3. I went into the waiting area and talked to the manager about what had just happened and all of the sudden the story changed. He said when the tech «pulled it into the shop» the power steering «gave out» on him an that the kid that was telling me the squealing was the problem was wrong. I told him I wanted to go for a ride and have him prove it to me. The guy that was actually doing the inspection got into the truck and we drove it around the lot. We took it out around the shopping center where he said he drove it and had the problem (before this he said the problem happened as he was pulling it into the shop). He stopped in a parking spot and cranked the wheel all the way to the left and some how did something and made it hard to steer. I told him to take it back to the shop and put a rejection sticker on it and I would take care of it.
4. The mechanic told me that it needed either a power steering pump or a new rack. And he would start with the new pump and see if it fixes the problem. I guess they just expected me to go for process of elimination rather than good old fashioned troubleshooting.
I left Firestone and on the way home at every stop light I went full range on the steering several times. When I got home I sat in my driveway and continued with full range steering checks for about 15 minutes. I could never duplicate the problem.
I have never had any problems with this truck and maintain it very well. If there truly was a problem with it I would not hesitate to fix it because I rely on it to take me 70 miles every day. I do not know how the tech made the steering act up but I am absolutely certain there is no problem with it.
I will never be going back to Firestone again for anything and once I replace my tie rod end (they wanted $ 80+ for the part, I got it for $ 13 online) I will go and spend another $ 16 for another state inspection somewhere else rather than the $ 1 they would charge me if I brought it back to them. Never never never again.

Being new to Unilocal,and the area, I had my setting on my Unilocal app to default to searches within close proximity vs. best rated. Nonetheless, I happened upon this location due to a flat tire situation. The staff was friendly, but quickly informed me they «had a full plate that day, and could I come back tomorrow?» I had a flat tire, which needed immediate attention. It was clear they did not want my business.
So thankfully, with the aide of my Unilocal app, I was directed to a competitor, nearby, that was glad to help and send me on my merry way.
I gave a 1 star, primarily because the staff was courteous.

Ok I did an online estimate through THEIR WEBSITE for my specific car type — and with 4 new tires they quoted me and promised me 263. Then I took it in. Got a call «your rims are 1 inch bigger, you need to get the 100 per tire tires not the 50 ones quoted in your estimate». WTF. I was pissed so they told me they’d give me a free tire and only charge me for 3 — so they get 1 star for that. Then they called back later and told me I needed it aligned also for $ 50 (since WHEN does this NOT COME WITH YOUR NEW TIRES!!?) I won’t go back here. I hate places that lie and put back end costs on you like this. Sad because I only went here in the first place because it was the most reasonably priced estimate. I see now that is just a deceptive marketing scheme to get you in the door. I wonder if my husband would have gone in if they would have treated HIM this way.

For a franchise mechanical shop — this place is the tops. Having come from a family where all the men worked on cars regularly, i find it quite hard to spend money on have my repairs done. As life has moved on, I’ve found myself in a position where my father and grandfather are really not available… So, I found these guys.
What a great bunch of fellas. They are extremely polite, attentative, informative and they work their tails off and live up to their word.
As long as I’m in this area all my cars will be going here for repairs! They’ve earned my business and my respect.
