The workers were super easy-​going and helpful. They wanted us to get out on the dunes and start having fun as soon as possible. The paper work was only a couple pages (barely) of signatures and only a short 8 minute video! We probably spent only 20 minutes inside until we got our ATVs. The ATVs they rented us were in great condition when we went out on the dunes. My boyfriend and I paid less than $ 150 for two hours. Two hours was the perfect time for us that time, but we may do more just because we had so much fun! Highly recommend for even a last minute idea!

Equipment is good. Takes forever to do all the paperwork and watch a video. The guy was nice and all, but a little to
Chatty-​Kathy for me. Took 45 min to finally get in the rZr. If you rent here you have to have a lot of patience.

We looked at their sketchy maintenance records to try and decide whether we needed to consider the optional drive belt insurance.
No help.
They said if you don’t over rev in low gear it won’t be a problem. Insurance is for teens who rodeo their buggies in low gear.
Took my family of four (wife and two small girls) out in a 4 seat RZR. Drove sensibly. Never even shifted into low gear. Within 20 min the drive belt broke and we were stranded for an hour until they came out to get us.
Apparently they sell drive belt insurance because they don’t maintain their ATVs properly.
Tried to charge our cc $ 250 for a belt without our consent. Explained the situation to the female supervisor while the mechanic provided errant static (not very intelligent) and she agreed to remove the charge. Took too long because she was not very customer oriented.
Then after we left they recharged our cc for the belt. Saw the xtra charge the next day and called. Spoke with supervisor and a female owner. Both couldn’t care less about ripping us off since we were no longer in the area.
Had to sue to get our money back.
Liars and cheats. Don’t get suckered in by the family photo on the brochure. These are not nice people. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. Find another rental group … Anyone else will be a better experience.

We had a large group. Rented 2 4 seater 800’s and a 2 seater 900. Reserving was easy and clear. We arrived on time to find one of the 800’s we reserved was unavailable because the people before us were lost. We waited an hour for them to return.
Their first plan was to put us in an 800 with leaking radiator fluid. I was not play with this. When I stated this I received nasty comments from the staff that they could fix it and it would be fine. If it was an easy fix and it was fine, it should have been done when they realized the other Razor was so late.
When I requested the upgrade to a 900 at their cost. They did not want to. When the owner showed up randomly. He didn’t understand why they refused to do it and said «take care of it and get them out of here!!»
Otherwise the equipment was well maintained and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable. They will not refund you as stated in other reviews so I would book a day earlier in your trip so if you need to reschedule you can.
Helmets are included I the price.

Jennifer and Jacob have given us such fantastic customer service!!! They are so welcome and kind. They explained everything so thoroughly and thoughtfully. They played with my kids, made great suggestions and offered great explanations of all our questions. We are so happy and content with the customer service of this business!

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. They were very generous with the time, as my husband took each of our two girls out into the dunes.
The area can be a little difficult to navigate and the map and directions could be a little more extensive.
We would love to come back for a longer ride. We would use Steve’s again!

Steve’s customer service is awsome! We screwed up our reservation and then needed to change the dates. Steve’s staff straightened out everything for us and the event became the highlight of our vacation. Once onsite the staff was every bite. As helpful in person as they had been over the phone. The rental helmets gloves and goggles were in excellent condition as were the ATV’s we rented. The trip to the dunes from. there shop was a quick fun ride. This location offers great access to some unique trailsi and dunes. We have rented at other locations, but this experience will bring us back to. Steve’s every time!

Great, personal service. I went in with 2 flat tires and he fixed them free of charge. I had sand in the tires and tires on the wrong rim and he fixed everything. Steve fixed my issues fast and let me get back to our vacation riding the dunes.

My son, The Tax Deduction, was stuck with me for a weekend at a barbecue competition in Coos Bay, Oregon. I made time to get him to the beach and show him other things but my main interest was at the competition but lets face it, for a 8 year old, this gets old fast. I’m lucky that he copes well, but you can tell when he’s not happy. So at the end of the weekend we scheduled along with my brother a few hours in the Oregon Dunes with a Polaris Razor four seater. Now, the Tax Deduction knows I race in the dirt a lot but I’ve never had him out in a race car on a real road, and I’m not about to either for now, but this would give him a taste for off road and it was a great, cheap way to find out if he likes it.
We arrived that morning at Steve’s ATV Service on Highway 101 to smiling helpful staff waiting for us with our reservation. We filled out paperwork and watched a short video for our safety and then fit our helmets before being introduced to our four seater. The staff was very helpful in answering all my questions, telling me works well and what doesn’t on the dunes and gave us pointers on how to get over the first set of taller dunes. Also, they told us how to get out to the beach, which was the Tax Deductions favorite part.
The four seater was well used as you can imagine a rental would be, but the important parts worked great, the seat belts, the engine and the brakes. We traveled quietly along a railroad track until we got to the entrance to the dunes and then we let it loose introducing The Tax Deduction to some serious sandy fun! We bopped around the dunes while I got used to what the Polaris could do before headed out along a major washboard road to the Pacific Ocean.
The two hours flew by all too quickly but The Tax Deduction had a blast and it topped off a great Father/​Son weekend thanks to the great staff and machines at Steve’s!

One of the absolute highlights of my trip to the pacific NW was taking one of Steve’s ATV’s out on the nearly 6 miles of Oregon sand dunes and spending the afternoon tearing around and exploring the incredible environment.
First of all, renting an ATV is a lot of paperwork. Know that, upfront, you’re in for at least 20 – 30 minutes of paperwork and informational videos. But after all of that, you are set to rock and roll in what is probably one of the most unique experiences you can have in the Northwest.
The pricing is fair, there’s a lot of insurance you can choose to opt-​into and there’s a hefty deposit they stick you with (but that you get back) if you crash the ATV or do some catastrophic damage to the thing. We were a little worried about that but trust me, these things are practically invincible and you shouldn’t worry nearly as much as you may feel when reading all the potential charges.
Back to the dunes. They’re incredible. There are miles of hills, trees, wide open spaces, lakes, obstacles, and ramp-​like nature to explore. It’s truly an amazing experience.

No reservation needed, they were able to accommodate our big group. Gave us great directions with maps. Had a blast riding on the trails and beach. They had a lot of different bikes and buggies to choose from. The staff were very helpful gave us lots of safety tips and went the extra mile to make sure everyone knew how to handle the vehicles before turning us loose on the sand. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a thrill. Even if you have never ridden.

This is a well-​oiled, experienced operation. The reason for the one star is the failure of the business to adapt to sand conditions.
During weeks of little rain, the sand becomes dry, loose, and requiring of additional horsepower to negotiate passage.
My 8 year old boy and I spent roughly $ 100 for an hour’s rental of two machines. Mine performed fine, but my boy’s 90cc rear wheel drive ATV got stuck more than a dozen times IN FLAT SAND.
We were warned before we departed the facility that the machine was underpowered for the sand conditions ON STEEP HILLS, but provided we avoided these hills, we’d be fine.
This turned out to be patently untrue as the machine became stuck, despite experienced operation (i.e., aggressive throttle control) by my boy, on even very flat sand.
I called the office to request an upgrade to a 125cc machine at the 15 minute mark, when, having spent more time digging out the machine than riding, it was becoming apparent we were in for a miserable hour. The request was denied.
No refund was offered. And in truth, we requested no refund due to the aggressive information campaign the business engages in to circumvent these requests (a good 20% of the required 10 minute video is devoted to this scold).
So we returned the machines early, drenched in sweat from the cardio of digging out the machine more than a dozen times, having never before spent $ 100 for an hour of such misery.
Suggestions to the business include: 1.) not allowing such underpowered machines to be rented in dry conditions. 2.) considering a less militant approach toward refund refusal. This approach lets you keep the $ 100, but costs dearly in word of mouth.

Fun adventure while traveling up the Oregon coast. Employees were friendly and helpful and the rates are comparable to other companies in the area. Best part was we were able to walk in and rent a dune buggy right away with no reservations! Another establishment nearby required reservations which is tough when you are a tourist passing through and not planning every adventure ahead of time. All the equipment supplied seemed to be well maintained and in good working order.
The only reason I didnt rate this business a 5 star is the maps they supply are ridiculous and its super easy to get lost and hard to find your way back. The roads and trails throughout the dunes and beach areas are very poorly marked if there are signs or markings at all. Thank goodness for IPhone technology to assist with mapping and nice park rangers and other riders for giving directions for directionally challenged people like me. Maybe a small GPS device could be offered for rental fee when renting a dune buggy or atv? Overall it was a fun experience riding the dunes and the beach and I’d definitely recommend to anyone wanting an adventure while traveling in this area.
P. S. Dont fall for sales pitch that you need to buy minimum 2 hours to go to the beach it’s only like 10 minutes away so an hour of time is plenty to go to beach and back if you dont want to do a full 2 hours. And of course if you dont get lost :)

I love going here. The owner is very nice, and they have great clothes, shoes, and purses that you cant find anywhere else in town. Plus I love going and ridig on the dunes! I love this place.
