Springhouse Gardens is a retail garden center and landscape design and installation company which specializes in unusual and hard to find trees, shrubs, evergreens, and perennials well suited to central KY. Since 1995, we have created a peaceful, park like shopping experience where customers can discover the best plants for their own gardens and get inspiration from our two acres of beautiful display gardens. History

Established in 1995.

Springhouse Gardens was designed by owner and Landscape Architect Richard J. Weber to inspire and educate gardeners. The rustic nature of the former tobacco farm has been preserved and complemented with tree, shrub and perennial plantings. The 6.5 acre site highlights numerous stone features, an old barn and farmhouse, and other natural features such as a spring, wet weather stream and two sinkholes which provide a wonderful canvas to showcase a wide variety of native and other garden worthy plantings to demonstrate how these plants adapt and grow in central Kentucky.

Business Owner

Richard J. Weber is a native of Lexington, KY and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. of Landscape Architecture. He also completed a 10 week summer class at the world renowned Longwood Gardens, and went on to get a Masters Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has been a gardener for nearly all his life and always dreamed of having a garden where people could visit and be inspired and be able to purchase all the cool plants that they always heard about, but could never find. Springhouse Gardens is the culmination of that dream.
