The décor is charming and histortic!
I LOVED the bar and the sky-​view lounge on the 18^th floor. Check-​in was a breeze and everyone was very nice.
Our room was great; very cute, comfy (awesome beds), and quiet until about 5am when the a/​c started making weird noises; we let the front desk know when we checked out. We were in 501 and there was a slight strange smell but it was easily looked over by my friend and I. old hotel smell possibly. The room chocolates and welcome letter were a very nice touch.
Ice was in a bizzar spot but oh well.
A big highlight is the continental breakfast! Very tasty with many options: waffels, eggs, potatos, breakfast meats, and more. Definitely in my top three best continental breakfasts!
If you have not checked out the Giacomo yet, when visiting Niagara Falls, put it on your list!

The hotel is beautiful and the location is walking distance to the Canadian side. However, the bed and the pillows were uncomfortable. It was too hot out not to use the a/​c but the noise from the a/​c was so terrible I hardly got any sleep while staying here. The good views of the falls are on the Canadian side, as are the better restaurants. We saved some money staying here though.

This was probably one of my bad experience. Seemed like a lot of Artificial etiquettes while they did not bother it was a Hazard to have a dysfunctional bathroom .
My grief kicked in just as we checked In while the hotel staff wasn’t considerate enough to give my 2 rooms next to each other as most hotels do this by default.
My bathroom had a Very Wierd Shower. As soon as I turned it on it Almost Burnt me with no exaggeration. I could not figure how to turn off the faucet as the faucet just kept rolling. Somehow I kept rolling the shower and had no clue how to regulate the temperature of the water. With great difficulty managed to get it at a cooler temperature and took a cold shower. When I reported this issue somehow I did not notice the hotel staff was receptive enough. They stopped by my room asked me to turn the faucet in the opposite direction than what was indicated. However it was still difficult to regulate the temperature as the faucet was out of order. All they agreed later was that they could refund me my money but what about all the hassle and additional expense of cost and time in re-​accommodating myself … Seems quite mismanaged from the looks of it .
Also the rooms that were assigned were not the same type inspite of us paying the same amount for both rooms. We just managed to somehow settle down as this was a short trip for us from Lax to Ny and then Buffalo with just one day to spend at Buffalo to see the Majestic Niagara Falls. We were already on a tight schedule with no room for delays or changing hotels. Hence would advise to stay out of such hotels as they are very limited with their inventory and just dump you with whatever rooms available. Especially be more cautious if booking through Expedia or proline as appears you may get 3^rd grade treatment from the management .

Great experience. The hotel staff are friendly and breakfast was good. The rooms were very neat and tastefully furnished. The 19^th floor skydeck is a great addition. Biggest advantage was that it is so close to the falls. The rooms have a refrigerator and it was very convenient to store milk for my baby.

Really cute bar and easily the nicest in the falls area. It’s a little bit of a walk but worth it. They have live music and a recently renovated bar area. The bar tender suggested their specialty drinks and we were not dissapointed. This is a nice bar on a date as you can actually hear yourself think and there are options in seating areas for privacy.

Very cool old hotel! Clean, comfortable and a excellent breakfast every morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would come back to Niagara again just to stay in this hotel!

I did not stay here. However, an advance call to the Concierge was helpful and informative, despite me not being a registered guest. I had to stop by to personally thank her. She then directed me to the popular and cozy Lounge which beckoned with its wood burning fireplace, eclectic décor, and $ 6 cocktails. This 1929 building is still going strong, despite Niagara New York’s recessionary landscape. A sweet blast from the past, paying homage to a survivor.

Wonderful place to stay. I’ve never encountered a friendlier hotel staff, and the accommodations are wonderful. Good location, easily accessible to the falls and casino.

Great hotel that’s a 5-​minute walk away from the falls. You can see a bit of the mist from the falls from some of the rooms. Includes valet parking and free breakfast. Staff was very accommodating and includes turn down service at night with warm cookies! Room comes equipped with a keurig and coffee. Bathrooms are nice and big, with a big mirror and huge sink. Shower is pretty big as well, although needs a little updating — but not too shabby. Overall great stay and would recommend!

Awesomeness in a tourist town. Giacomo is an oasis in the Buffalo area. Our room had great décor and privacy. The morning breakfast was on point as was the free parking valet system. The hotel bar was a cozy affair for our group. But, the bartender took care of us all night. I’d recommend dining at the conveniently located culinary school next door for lunch and dinner at least once. No complaints!

Everything about this place is 5 star. The free breakfast had bacon, waffles and hashbrowns to name a few. Free wifi and valet parking. Most hotels in the area charge per day for parking so it was nice to get it free and valet. Super clean and gorgeous room. The sky view lounge on the 19^th floor has a great view of the top of the fall and you can see the mist as well. Walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants nearby. Didn’t even need the car once we got checked in.

The Giacomo is a lovely gem in downtown Niagara Falls, NY. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the desk staff to the bartender to the breakfast servers. The rooms were clean and well appointed, a little dark for my taste but cozy and comfortable. It’s a nice renovation of an historic office building, which adds character that many hotels lack. The bar is a fun, intimate spot for a nightcap. The breakfast, which is included in the room rate, is stand out– not the usual warmed-​over breakfast you often get, but a fresh and delicious spread. If you want to downplay the touristy-​ness of your visit to Niagara Falls (to the degree that’s possible), this is a great place to stay. I’m glad we chose to stay at the Giacomo rather than battling the commercialized chaos of the Canadian side.

we just stayed here for a weekend trip and it was fabulous! a short walk to Niagara Falls no worries about parking at the hotel as they have valet parking right across the street in a private gated lot. gorgeous CLEAN room, I was very impressed and fell in love with the 2 person jacuzzi. within walking distance to quite a few restaurants, we ate at the Hard Rock for dinner. free breakfast at the hotel of eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, fruit and bagels. if we visit Niagara Falls again, we will def be staying here again!

The room was beautiful, though the fireplace didn’t work. It was spacious and nicely decorated. The room was complete and clean. Note that our room did not have a view of the falls. Also, the lounge/​observation room on the 19^th floor is NOT wheelchair accessible. We were not told this and discovered it on our own. Disappointing, especially since they host a wine hour up there. They handled our complaint professionally. They have secure parking. It’s also a 10 minute walk to the US falls and about 30 minutes to cross the bridge to the falls in Canada. There are also lots of restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good but the staff had a hard time keeping up with juice, silverware, etc. The hotel staff made great efforts in the details, but you’d expect that for a room that costs this much.

Beautiful room, wonderful staff, great location (walkable; no passport needed if you’re American). Especially enjoyed talking with Veronica at the front desk. Be sure you do Maid of the MIst (which is a 10 minute walk from The Giacomo).

I was mostly satisfied with my stay at The Giacomo. It’s an older building right by the falls, and the guest rooms seem to be mostly redone and updated. The bathrooms are huge and very nice. I did stay in one of the large suites at the top of the building, which seemed a bit dated and very dark. They do valet your car, which is nice.
I was surprised there was no room service. I had a number of friends and family staying in the hotel and I think we all tried calling down for food and drinks. Also, the bar only had 1 server and was really running low on selection. We had a huge wedding party staying here, and we drank them out of stock the first night. They said if they were unable to restock the for the second night they just wouldn’t open, which was a big concern to us since we were planning to have an after party there. Also, my mom was charged $ 16 for one glass of wine! Crazy!
While the rooms and beds were nice, if you’re looking for other amenities, this isn’t the place.

*3.5 Stars* Convenient hotel if you’re looking to visit Niagara Falls. An easy 7 – 8 minute walk to the falls on the NY side, complimentary breakfast and valet. AND complimentary evening cookie delivery — freshly baked and warm right to your door (it was the best part of my stay).
There is a private parking lot next to the hotel. Since it was full when we arrived, valet was very convenient. You will have to park in front of the hotel entrance and block the right lane of traffic for valet, but there really was not much traffic at all.
The rooms themselves are decent — I didn’t think they were as great as the reviews made them out to be. Although the bathroom was very spacious and modern, the bedroom area was dim and dusty.
The 19^th floor sky lounge view also wasn’t as spectacular as I was expecting from other reviews. Take the elevator to the 18^th floor and walk up the stairs to the 19^th. Again, kind of dusty, but the room is decent if you’re looking to bring up a bottle of wine and relax on the leather couches. You can sort of see the falls, but I really would not say the view is a selling point.
Above average hotel based on the service/​hospitality. Would stay here again for the proximity to the falls, but not for the view itself. Our rate was around $ 240/​night in April. Please note: they got rid of the complimentary car service about a year ago.

We can’t say enough great things about this hotel. Classic Art Deco style! The lobby is stunning as well as the lounge area where we stopped for a drink after dinner. The service was impeccable from the staff that greeted us to the bar tender. The rooms are gorgeous. Completed updated and plenty of room for a boutique hotel. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we slept in our our trip. You can also go to the top floor that is enclosed where you get 365 degree views of both the US and Canadian side of the falls. We would definitely stay here again!

So loved this place !!! The rooms are beautiful, and very welcoming. The staff was so kind, very friendly, honestly friendly. The lounge on the 19^th floor, they have such a beautiful view! I will definitely stay there next time I’m anywhere near that area!!!

Loved this hotel!
My wife and I came here on an evening stay-​cation getaway in Niagara Falls and we had an awesome time.
We booked a jacuzzi + fireplace room and with a AAA discount it came to under $ 189/​night with tax. Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels in Niagara Falls.
The attention to detail in the renovation of the building is incredible. It’s Art-​Deco style with a mix of luxury apartments and hotel rooms inside. The building used to be a huge post office, was left to ruin but was restored and turned into this beautiful hotel/​apartment hybrid.
We loved the wallpaper throughout the hotel and the chic room. Very comfortable bed.
I’m docking a star because our Internet did not work the whole time we were here. I called numerous times to the front desk, but they were unable to fix it. They sent up some cookies to our room as an unexpected surprise and that was nice, but I honestly wish they sent up some milk to go along with it! Our plan was to just relax in the hot tub and watch Netflix for a while to decompress, so our plan was foiled by the lack of Internet… so we actually had to talk to each other, which I guess wasn’t so bad ;).
To summarize: if you’re a tourist coming to the Falls or even if you’re simply a local who wants to getaway on a special night, The Giacomo is the place to do it. Without a doubt. Just bring your own Internet.

Perfect boutique hotel in Niagara Falls, NY!
I stayed here about 3 – 4 years ago when they first opened, and enjoyed it. After returning last weekend, I remembered why my first experience was so satisfying.
We were looking for a hotel near the casino (American side) because the Seneca Niagara was booked for the evening. I ended up finding the Giacomo on ORBITZ, and after using a promo code I received, booked a Saturday night stay for $ 165.00 (including taxes). Fantastic price, compared to other hotels in the surrounding area, and for a weekend night.
The rooms are stunning! From the very modern wallpaper, to the bedding, and to the art work it automatically puts you in awe as soon as you enter. The room has complimentary k-​cups with a mini Keurig machine. There are also complimentary bathrobes hanging in the bathroom for your stay. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious. The bed was so comfy, that I easily fell back and felt like I was lying on a cloud all night. I loved the shelf above the bed. I used it for my glasses, a beverage, and to charge my phone. (see photos attached for the room)
The staff was friendly and courteous upon arrival and departure. They offer free valet parking to their guests upon arrival, so you need not worry about walking in the frigid temperatures (or smoldering heat in the summer).
5 stars for staff, ambiance, comfort, location, and all amenities.
PS — Complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning until 10:30 am… sadly, we missed this :(

My traveling companions were on a mission to NOT stay at the Sheraton. [To the Sheraton’s credit, they let us cancel the reservation with NO fees. That hotel is pretty bad for a Sheraton brand.] Anyway, the Giacomo welcomed us with open arms.
The rooms here are modern and updated with huge comfy beds. The bathrooms are beautiful, too. [I want a shower like that one day!] It was a great place to relax after a long day at work. The hotel also has an upstairs lounge with an amazing view.
The employees were really nice as they set-​up a corporate rate with us, so we got an even lower rate than the Sheraton WITH a free breakfast. There’s free cookies in the lobby, not to mention free bottles of water and a box of yummy chocolate in the room. It’s free valet parking, too, but it’s a little silly as you just have to park in the lot adjacent to the building. But, whatever, it’s nice to have the car waiting for you in the morning. Oh, and free wifi!

Wow. 5 stars isn’t even enough for this wonderful boutique hotel. I can easily say that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It’s an old building with a lot of charm that was saved from demolition years ago. And thank goodness it was. A true asset to Niagara Falls.
Each room is tastefully decorated with contemporary/​modern finishing and exposed piping/​ductwork. All the rooms are unique, with different colors, paintings and layouts. The rooms have large windows for natural light but heavy curtains if you want to sleep in.
The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever experienced.
On the headboard they leave the most delightful little chocolates (including truffles) on a silver tray.
Keurig coffee machine on the desk, not your expected old hotel coffee machine.
Delicious free breakfast with REAL eggs and food (not the powdered crap that you find at chain hotels).
FREE valet.
FREE car service within 5 miles. We had them drive us to dinner and then pick us up from the casino.
On the 18^th floor is an awesome observatory lounge with lots of leather couches, a computer (we put on Pandora so we had music), a private bathroom, a sink, and an AMAZING view of Niagara Falls and Canada. We brought champagne up here and relaxed, having the space all to ourselves.
All of these features sounds expensive, right ??? For the room I was in (no jacuzzi, no fireplace — I had the most basic room you could buy but it was still HUGE and great) I paid only $ 160 (with AAA rate). That included taxes. GREAT deal. You could pay much more for a «chain» hotel.
HIGHLY recommended.
