My stay in Newton was for 4 nights. Spent 3 of them at O’reillys. Nuff said! O’reillys located near the center of town is a cozy older building with a small parking lot that can be hard to navigate. There is plenty of parking close by. I should add that I never ate there but the food looked good and, smelled good. I am writing a review because my wife and I sat at the bar and enjoyed our beverages with some nice Jersey folk and some pretty good bartenders. If I am ever back to Newton I will check out the food and probably boost their rating to a 4.99 or even a 5!

Quick friendly service… good pub food… good strong sangria… I had the fish and chips and substituted my chips for fresh steamed veggies… my wife said her butternut squash was good and filling… my kids didn’t complain about the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries that they split… I’d come back… no complaints.

I don’t understand how others have rated this place with four stars. Pulled in Friday night at 6:15 and parking lot was near empty, which should have been my first clue. Staff was prompt and very friendly. I ordered the fish and chips. They were soggy and oily tasting. The«chips» were French fries. The fish was obviously frozen and cooked in an over used batch of oil. My wife ordered Chili, which she didn’t finish.

The restaurants around here are a diamond dozen. For all intensive purposes; when it comes down to brass stacks this is not a pub you should take for granite. You mine as well swallow your prize and accept the fax. Great atmosphere. Great selection. Great service. Great music on the weekends. Parking is tight but there’s a public lot a stoned throw away. Also, Erin is a fantastic bartender.

Atmosphere and menu were good, but the service was about the worst I have had in a while. We sat in a booth rather than at the bar, which in retrospect was a mistake as the ONE server in sight was completely overwhelmed with just her bar crowd. Ordering from the beer menu, we asked first for a Boddington. 10 minutes later the server returned to tell us they didn’t serve it anymore and should have taken it off the menu(duh!). Ordered a Harp(this is an Irish bar after all). 10 minutes later the server returns to say they’re out of Harp. Third try was the charm w a Newcastle, although another 12 minutes ensued before it appeared with our appetizer course. Food has been quite good — ribs — when it arrived, but it’s been 25 minutes since we last saw our server, who is yukking it up with her bar crowd.

Parking lot is not large enough to fit all of the guests and employees which is a little aggravating because the only other option is metered parking on the street. The inside is a bit dark I think, even for a pub, but our waitress was very kind and our food was excellent. I loved my disco burger and the fries were great. I would definitely recommend this place for a sports fan too! TVs are easy to see from any seat.

We have dined at O’reillys Pub & Grill on two separate occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed the food and service each time.

Not so good, went here before a Newton theatre show. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get food. Sandwiches rolls were huge with little meat burger was burnt. Next time we will try another place unless it’s just for drinks. The waitress was right on top of refilling drinks

We stopped in during the spring snow storm and just had a great meal. Everything was cooked great, and tasted great. The chips for the appy dip we had were just bland so we suggest replacing them ASAP. Service was also great. Good place to stop in and relax.

Stopped in today with friends for a «brunch like Lunch» and I have to say I was not disappointed! We started with spicy Bloody Mary’s that were made by our Bartender Erin who garnished them with green olives, the perfect touch! Next we ordered some burgers. They offer numerous types, but I decided to make my own. I had a provolone cheese, jalapeño & sautéed mushroom burger cooked medium rare and it was Awesome! It was cooked perfectly, and I got a side of sweet potato fries that were delicious. Service was efficent and friendly. Erin is a stand out Bartender and deserves a raise! I definitely recommend this place for a good meal and lots of fun!

Ordered a few apps. By far some of the most awful food I’ve ever had. Over salted and tasted like the stuff you get in the frozen section of the grocery store. Will not be returning here. Such a shame bc it’s a great location and theme.

If you want dinner and a few beers at a decent price this is your pub. The Irish nachos are solid, the bangers and mash are made with an apple sauce that is an excellent twist on a classic. Portions are generous. Just make sure you get out before the live music.

All I have to say about this place is THEBURGER. I’m not sure how they make it but it is the best burger I have eaten in my life. I love the people there to. The bartender. I think her name was Erin was just great. I would say this is just the type of place you would hope for when looking for a nice neighborhood Irish pub. A true hidden gem.

Deserves 4 stars because 5 gets a review removed. After trying to get into the County Seat on a Monday, after seeing their hours and thinking they were open on a Monday, we had to come up with Plan B on the fly. And what a wonderful accident we had. Hell, we even used Unilocal to find O’Reilly’s. Went in at roughly 3 pm on a Monday(Veterans’ Day). Dead, but a few locals sat and had pints. We love situations like this, feeling like we have the bar to ourselves, and get a feel for the place without the noise and activity of a Friday or Saturday night. Draft and bottled beer choices were not large, but solid, as I saw a local offering(Angry Erik) alongside Carton’s B.D.G., pedestrian fare, and Lagunitas IPA. The food menu isn’t too large, and provides standard Irish dishes in addition to other tasty entrees. I had the Spicy Pulled Pork, my wife went with the(somewhat) deconstructed chicken pot pie, the crust was instead a puff pastry rested on the top. Dessert? Two options that day. Brownie a la mode(pass but wait for it) or Guiness cupcakes filled with Jameson cream filling, topped with Bailey’s ganache. Insanely moist and easy to eat. Female bartender(though not the one that does the beer ordering) is pleasant, knowledgeable about good beer, and steered us toward our entrees. Great picks, reasonable prices, a good time had by all. We’ll be back, fairly soon.

I like a good nosh and a good brew before a good concert. So, a friend and I were lucky to snag a table before The Musical Box show at the Newton Theatre earlier this year. Good service despite the crushing crowd. More importantly, great food and drink.

Got there at 6:35. Took 10 minutes for someone to come over and ask us for our drink order and then another ten to have them come to our table. We ordered burgers and wings. Nothing fancy. Arrived to our table at 7:40 and my husband’s wings were cold. We had to be at the Newton Theatre for a show at 8 so he ate his cold wings. After we wolfed down our food we got to the theatre at 8 on the dot. Never again.

Staff is great and the bartender was funny and helpful. I was not expecting much from the look of the place on the out side, but inside the restaurant was beautiful. We were going to the newton theater and the restaurant we usual go to was full. In a way i’m glad because we would have never tried this place. My wife and I think this is one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. If you are as burger lover check this place out, top three burgers in my life.
