Was pleased with this one compared to other ones have been to. It definitely is more modern and up to date and plenty of room. Staff could be a little more helpful but Maybe it was just a busy day though some seemed very lost. Prices are right in line with other places and sometimes cheaper or more but after all they have to compete with one another right.

This Modells in Newton is brand new, organized, and has a great selection of everything. The service and prices are also superb. Great location(not on weekends though!)

The help needs some help. I was there a few weeks ago looking for soccer cleats for my daughter. The kid basically pointed to the area and didn’t seem very motivated to help me find my daughters size of which there were only about 2 pairs in the whole store. Would have appreciated having someone take some initiative and help search for the size we were looking for.

As much as I want to like this store, I never seem to have luck! I feel if its not on sale, its way to over priced! When you think of it, its in a horrible location with TJ Maxx and Marshalls down the road! I would go to those two place first over modells any day!

This place is good for sport textiles, and shoes but it has only one catch, its almost impossible to find even though its on a Needham Street, a really busy place, and its a big box store, Its behind the Papa Gino’s, about half way up the street from the Farm Grill, but there is no sign on the street that I could see. Its way down in the back The selection of all sports stuff is wide the prices are much more reasonable than the pretentious Dicks Sporting Good.. I got my son’s ice skates there, and the people were extremely helpful

I had a great experience at this Modells and will definitely return! I was on a hunt for a swimsuit so I could use the pool at my YMCA without flashing the whole place; unfortunately, hunting for such a thing is near impossible when it’s October in New England! I tried so many other sporting goods stores, places like EMS and City Sports, and even TJ Maxx at hopes they had some in their clearance section since it’s out of season! It wasn’t until I got to Modells that I found what I wanted. The staff approached me while I wandered around trying to find the swimsuits and pointed out where they were. Sure, there weren’t many to choose from but I just needed one. The price was reasonable enough that I splurged and got a pair of cotton shorts(super cheap, at $ 6!) and a no-slip very thick yoga mat with carrying case(only $ 25!). This is definitely my go-to place for any sporting goods!

Modells is conveniently located to me, which is the only reason I would shop there. Every time I go in there, the employees have no interest in greeting or helping me. I walked in the other day looking for a specific football jersey(Reggie Bush). I asked the woman working there if they had it. She looked up, said«No,» and turned around so I was standing there looking at her back. Um, ok. I asked her to see if any other stores had it, since they had it in child’s small(I am a child’s XL in football jerseys). She sighed and walked over to check. None in Massachusetts. That’s fine, but did she have to make me feel like I was putting her out for looking for an item I was willing to spend $ 50 on? Later on, I needed to try something on, and I had to ask an employee to unlock a dressing room. Once again, he acted as though I had asked him for his first born child. I worked in retail for years, and my manager would have had my head if I had acted like that to a customer. The managers could do a better job educating their employees on proper customer service. Going forward, I will drive to the City Sports on Route 9.

Always a sale going on, got a bunch of work out stuff for cheap. They also have a ton of boston sports clothing like a wall of sox clothing. The stores pretty big and I actually do business with them through my company and the managers here are all good people. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. Swing by and you can drop a small amount of cash and pick up a bunch of new gear for working out or loungin.

I’ve had nothing but good luck at this Modell’s. Far cheaper than your average sporting goods store… a great place to buy a pair of sneakers or a sports bra at a reasonable price. We also got a NFL regulation-sized football for 70% off because it was no longer in the box. Just like the old radio jingle I heard growing up outside of NY, «Gotta go to Mo’s, MODELL’S!»
