History

Established in 2012.

Local Root opened in 2012, the sister store of Didriks just down the street on Concord Avenue in Observatory Hill, Cambridge, MA

The owner wanted to create an intimate local kitchen store specializing in high quality products, with excellent, knowledgeable customer service.

In the same year Local Root launched their online site, blog, and social media platforms.

In 2014 they opened a second location at The Mill at Newton Lower Falls. Local Root is constantly expanding their inventory and services to meet the needs of cooks and aspiring cooks in the neighborhood and beyond.
