Outdoor furniture by Barlow Tyrie is a prominent part of our business and we carry the entire line of teak, metal and woven furniture by this prominent British maker.

History

Established in 2004.

Didriks is an independent, locally owned business that first opened its doors in 2004. The Observatory Hill location, situated just northwest of Harvard Square on Concord Avenue in Cambridge, was originally located on the ground floor of the space and later added the lower level. The initial focus of the store was outdoor furniture, which gradually expanded to include all categories of homeware.

From the start Didriks began to build a web presence, with online shopping destination didriks​.com as well as a blog and social media platforms.

In 2012 the Didriks corporation added local kitchen store Local Root under its umbrella, just down the street on Concord Avenue. This sister store shares the flagship’s ideals of excellent customer service and quality home products with superb functional designs.

In 2014 the owner opened additional locations of Didriks and Local Root at The Mill at Newton Lower Falls.
