Beginning to Advanced Piano lessons which include music theory, and able to creatively incorporate various styles: classical, pop, rock, blues, jazz. Experienced working with students with special needs including attention deficit disorder, ADHD, autism, difficulty with vision, legally blind, learning to play by ear, playing with double-​jointed fingers.

History

Established in 1992.

Graduate of Heidelberg University, Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, and graduate of Old Dominion University with Master of Education. I moved from the Chicago area to Newport News and began teaching music in the public schools in 1992. In 2015, I retired from the schools and now teach piano full-​time privately.

Worked at Newport News Public Schools, Epes Elementary music 1992 – 1998, and 1998 – 2015 Woodside High School piano. Also taught music theory, chorus, elements of the arts, and senior seminar. These were all magnet classes, Woodside is a magnet of the arts and communications school.
