Our first time here with this business and our first experience started out a little rough. I wont bore you with the details but after dropping off my boat i walked away and was not pleased with the experience. Which is why they didnt get 5 stars.
However, it is what happened once we picked up the boat that will most likely cause me to return. I found they had integrity and honesty. They could have performed work we requested and made another $ 1000 but upon their inspection they said everything was fine and the work didnt need to be done. Had they done as we requested we would have never known any better and they would have been a tad wealthier. That goes along way in my book!
They kept to the time schedule for job completion and washed the boat for pickup.

While docking my boat at a public dock, did not see an exposed nail head and put a 16 inch long tear in my Gel coat.
I dropped the boat off with only 2 hours notice, and it was repaired to perfection in 24 hours at the price quoted.

We brought our 28′ sailboat in for bottom paint and a thru-​hull repair at the advice of our bottom-​cleaner. We had anxiety about the crane part of the job — but the crew flew our boat right into and out of the crowded yard smoothly and set it down exactly where they intended, it was almost magical to watch. The team was friendly, professional, timely, and the prices were fair and as originally quoted. We will definitely be back.

I brought my boat for a mechanical problem. They Diagnosed the engine problem, and offered the exact solution. I am glad I chose South Coast Shipyard for all my Boat Repairs and maintenance. I also had my bottom paint done last year. They do every thing, Excellent job guys,.

Eric was able to accommodate our boat on relatively short notice. Our stuffing box was replaced and the bottom was to be painted. Peter, the owner, showed us problems with peeling paint on our boat bottom. This is a problem that we were aware of but didn’t think that it was severe as it turned out to be. We had the bottom stripped and properly prepped for an excellent bottom job. He indicated that we did not need an LP job but only a good wax job. The boat looks fabulous.
We did have some problems with over spray from construction at the property next door. Telling Eric on Saturday morning lead to the problem being addressed by Wednesday. Three professionals came to my boat for ½ day and totally rectified the problem. Excellent customer service. We would definitely recommend and use this yard again.

I made a mistake due to a misunderstanding. If anyone read my previous comment about this company, please disregard it. I went back to them and was stunned at their integrity! Even gave me hundreds of dollars off my bill simply in good faith and to show how much they care about their customers. I was blown away and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company to anyone/​everyone. I look forward to giving them more of my business.
