The Southern California Center for Reproductive Medicine in Orange County is an independent, full service fertility clinic specializing in the treatment of infertility, reproductive endocrine disorders and miscarriage. The Newport Beach facility has been open since 1992. All fertility testing, diagnosis and treatment is conducted within one of our centers in Orange County for the convenience of our patients.

Business Owner

Dr. Robert Anderson is the founder and Director of the Southern California Center for Reproductive Medicine and the founder and Medical Director of the Southern California Institute for Reproductive Sciences. He has been practicing in Orange County since 1989, longer than any other Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist in Orange County.

Dr. Anderson has spent his career incorporating the latest developments in the field into clinical practice to benefit his patients. He was one of the first to routinely perform assisted hatching prior to the transfer of every embryo, which immediately doubled the pregnancy success rate of IVF at the time. He brought blastocyst culturing to the IVF laboratory when it was in its early stages leading to the first live births in Orange County from the transfer of both frozen (January 1996) and fresh (May 1999) blastocysts.

I was diagnosed with decreased ovarian reserve when trying to get pregnant. We went somewhere else first and got an arrogant and careless doctor, who missed my ovulation during the IUI treatment. I then was told that IVF would be the only way to get me pregnant. Feeling that the doctor made a mistake and wanting to get more money from us, we then asked around and found Dr Anderson. The office staff were professional and friendly. The nurses and Joan were like angels who were patient and thorough. Dr. Anderson is not the down to earth doctor you may imagine, but his great confidence, experience, and results gave us hopes and led us to decide to go with him. We only tried the first round and got 2 matured eggs! But, one of them was missing enough chromosome pairs based on the PGS testing. We decided to implant the one and only egg we got, and under Dr. Anderson ’ s careful plan, I got pregnant! Dr. Anderson did not stop there. He monitored me weekly and gave me an ultrasound every week until I had passed 12 weeks. Now we enjoy being parents of a beautiful and healthy girl! We are already thinking about going back to Dr. Anderson to get a 2nd one. If you are looking for someone with skills and proven results for many years on over hundreds patients, and you do not want to waste your money and time, you definitely should consider Dr. Anderson!

My daughter is now 15months old and I have yet to rate Doc Anderson.
My Story:
I was recommended to him by a friend. After two years of trying and being told by a OBGYN I have PCOS. I changed my diet (please note I am no where near over weight).Also my husband telling me nothing was wrong and had nothing to worry about. I finally got him to go with me to see Doc Anderson.
Doc Anderson:
People say he is a bit reserved. At this point I didn’t want someone to be on my level and cry with me. I wanted someone to see me and get me pregnant. It’s a business, and you got to focus on the results.
The Staff:
Very nice staff. The first nurse that took my blood work looked me straight in the eyes and said «we are going to get you pregnant» okay okay I did break down with her bc I finally got my husband to say yes to IUI.
Lastly the nurse practitioner first time meeting her said «let’s do this» I was a bit taken off by this, but I was like your right lets do this!
Treatment
I did one round of IUI and a lot praying! I chose to do the shots over clomid. Better results.
End of my story:
I got pregnant first shot. This doesn’t always happen and I say medicine and the power of prayer came together! My daughter is 15 months and it’s a blessing.
FYI:
— they check your levels weekly, it’s a little bit stressful wondering if your levels are increasing or not. Wondering am I still pregnant.
— they record your ultra sounds every week so you can have a video of your baby :)

You never really want to have to be in the position to go to one of these places. With that said, this clinic (office) is top notch! Dr Anderson and his staff are great! At first they aren’t super personal but after seeing them every other day for weeks at a time you will get to know them better and see what a great dr and office staff this really is. Dr Anderson is there to get 1 job done, and he does it well. I’m so glad we came here, I had lost all hope of having another child and this place turned all my fears away. You pay for what you get, it’s definitely going to cost you but will be worth every penny spent! Dr Anderson uses the most high tech procedures and equipment and truly knows what he’s doing! Yes, the office staff (some) can be snooty but I didn’t let it bother me. And, some office staff are beyond nice and will do anything for you.

I called the doctors office looking for more detailed information about packages and pricing for IVF treatments. The person who picked up the phone was not helpful, sounded busy and bothered. I specifically said I was shopping around for a new IVF clinic but she still asked if i was a patient there and if i wanted to speak to Lisa. Im not sure what position Lisa holds at the office but maybe she should of been answering the office phones instead. This office may be or could be the BEST fertility clinic in the world but Ill never find out and don’t want to find out because of the rude worker working at the front office. I advise this office and any office to please tell your front desk receptionist to be more friendly, patient and caring with people on the phone, we are paying or potentially new paying patients who are inquiring about a matter thats important to us. Given that this is an IVF clinic, we are obviously looking to spend top dollars (1000 – 20,000 $) to have a baby. That phone call costed your office money and with an attitude like that, I’m sure your receptionist has cost you more dollars than you know.

Dr. Anderson and every single member of his staff are amazing! The whole office is very organized and every single person is very accomodating. The office is nice and clean. Dr. Anderson is definitely great at what he does. First Time patient consultations are done in the afternoon and morning appointments are for current patients. They are even open for a few hours on Saturdays and Sundays so it makes it really convenient. They are detailed and always available to help no matter what! The whole process is super organized and easy to follow.

After almost giving up on believing that we would be able to conceive a child of our own, a friend, begged for me to meet with Dr. Anderson. I had seen another RE and he had advised that we only had a 10% chance of conceiving. Which was beyond devastating. After hearing this, we had decided to move forward with adoption. The same day that we were going to begin the adoption classes with the State of Calfornia, I met with Dr. Anderson. He provided a very detailed consultation. His final statement sold me. Which was something along the lines of, I think we have a very high probability of being able to help you. I was beyond excited and we decided to give Dr. Anderson a chance to work with us. Sure enough, after our first round of IVF, I am currently 7 ½ months pregnant!!! Dr. Anderson and his staff is exceptional. The Ladies in the office have such a warm presence and always insure that you are comfortable. If you have lost hope, please see him before you give up like we almost did. We will be forever thankful for our baby girl!

Best Fertility Doctor ever… knows what he is doing 100% At first he might not seem super friendly, but he comes around in time and he is kinda funny. More importantly his expertise and knowledge is above and beyond. I had seen another RE for over a year and it was one of the worst experiences in my life. My gut had told me no, but due to expenses I cut corners and went anyway and have regretted it ever since. It still haunts me the whole experience. So then after all that wasted time, money and emotions we then were about to sign up and start the adoption process… but my yearn for Dr. Anderson wouldn’t leave me so my husband and I had to try even though this was our very last attempt and we would not then be able to do adoption either if this didn’t work… but I just HAD to try Dr Anderson. Let me tell you, from day one it was a real hope and all the odds in our favor were pointing here. They are honest and thorough and your success is their success. It is a detailed process and journey with much testing along the way, and if there is any hope he gets the job done… you can «almost» guarantee it. Dr. Duran is wonderful too, I did see him a few times during my weekly visits that I sooo looked forward to coming too. The entire staff is wonderful, 5 stars hands down! Sometimes I hear it works better on the frozen cycle. For me… I was pregnant with twins (boy & girl) within 3 months of the process. It was the best experience of my life!!! I can not say enough about this place! Doctor Anderson and his staff are Remarkable!

Dr. Anderson did what I paid him to do… get me pregnant. His office staff is great and its easy to get an appt and be seen on-​time (well its easier in the Mission Viejo office rather than the Newport Beach one) but overall he monitors you very closely and has a great success rate. I would say at first he was hard to warm up to but then later on we were more jovial with one another. My only complaint is that during my IVF process I got a condition where I was hyper-​stimulated and I gained a lot of water weight/​fluid. He waited until I could barely stand it anymore (I was carrying around 20 lb of fluid in my abdomen) before he admitted me to the hospital to get drained. I just would have liked to have done it sooner because by the time I got drained I couldnt stand up very well. But that condition passed and I was able to conceieve with his guidance and knowledge.

Dr. Anderson is a great doctor, and very professional. Dr. Anderson performed a laparoscopy on me, and I received excellent care. Following the procedure, I did one cycle of fertility treatments, including IUI, and got pregnant. I have been seeing him for the first trimester, and I have absolutely no complaints. They monitor you very closely, with an ultrasound and blood draw every week. He is an excellent doctor, and the office is readily available for appointments, to answer questions, etc. They are open starting at 6:30 am, 7 days a week, including holidays.

dr. anderson is double board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. he’s not only good at what he does but he’s actually board certified as well which is important when you are spending a whole lot of money.
the doctors (anderson and durron) do their consultations in the afternoon and see patients in the mornings from 6:30 a.m. to around 10 during the week and weekends usually from 8 to 11. this is great if you have to be at work early or don’t want the whole world knowing what’s going on with your reproductive life because really 10 visits a month is a lot.
it took us 6 cycles of IUI (3 with clomid and 3 with injectable drugs), about 10 plus visits a month and a whole lot of EXPENSIVE drugs but we are finally pregnant. dr. anderson and dr. durron are excellent physicians and monitor their patients VERY closely. the doctor sees you every week during the first trimester for monitoring (bloodwork and u/​s). it was awesome watching the baby grow from week to week. the best part was having a DVD from week eight on. amazing!
the nurses are wonderful. they are nicest people you will ever meet and they genuinely care. the office staff is equally friendly and caring. they made a very difficult situation tolerable. i would highly recommend them. good luck!
