Rebel Run Canine Suites

I have been taking my dogs to Rebel Run for the last 12 years. If you are looking for staff who treat your dog like one of their own, then look no further. You cannot find an owner with a bigger heart. Kathi cried when I lost both of my Shepherds within a year of each other — she truly loved them. My dog, Doodle, starts going crazy (in a good way) when I’m about 6 blocks away because he knows where he’s going. I drop him off for both daycare and boarding. I think his excitement to get to Rebel Run is the best evidence that this is a very special place.

Mattie loved her stay at Rebel Run! She received more TLC than other boarding places, as well as lots of doggie playtime. Heidi and Kathi were welcoming to her and our family. We will definitely be back!

This place is really special. Our neighbor recommended it and our dog, Picolo loves it here! They adore him even though he can be a bit crazy.

The best way to know that you are bringing your dog to a place where they are safe and well loved and cared for is when your dog gets extremely excited before you even make the last turn onto the street, and when they exit the car, they run straight in to be with their friends without hesitation! This is how my dog Daffi reacts every time that we come to Rebel Run.
I started taking Daffi here over 3+ years ago and it was the best thing for both Daffi and I – Daffi needed to be able to run and play during the day, and I needed a place that I was comfortable leaving her at. Rebel Run quite literally became Daffi’s second home while I was at work and when I would travel out of town. She would come home happy and exhausted from play.
Kathy, Heidi and their team love the dogs that come to stay with them and they interact and get to know all of them – I always can get a play by play of the fun that Daffi has when I come to pick her up.
Unfortunately, I changed jobs and moved down to San Diego recently, so Daffi is no longer a regular at Rebel Run, however, because Rebel Run has become a place that Daffi loves and I fully trust Kathy and Heidi to look after my pup, Rebel Run will always be my first choice for doggie boarding.

I have been taking my dogs to Rebel Run for over 10 years. Every time we pull up, MIka’s tail is wagging (she is an 85lb white german shepherd) and she runs right to Kathi or Heidi or whomever is there ready for her stay. She loves it there and I have complete confidence in the quality of the care and attention she receives when she is there. Whenever she needs a bath, I always go back to Kathi because I know she honestly cares for Mika and the feeling is mutual.
Prior to learning about Rebel Run, my previous dogs came home dirty, smelly and a few times with kennel cough and would cower whenever we got close to the kennel — not with Rebel Run! This never happens at Rebel Run.

This review is long overdue. We’ve been taking our mini schnauzer to rebel run for 2 years now and Xander just loves it there! We’re moving out of town and will sure miss this place!
Peace of mind while you’re gone — for a day or a week — and they are so close to the airport… very convenient.

Discovering Rebel Run is the best thing that has happened to me, Chowder and Crackers. Kathy came recommended by my aunt and although it’s far from my house, she is right down the street from the airport.
My pups have stayed here twice now, once over Christmas and recently while I was at a week long work trip. I was hesitant at first, only because they’ve never done an overnight anywhere, only day camp.
First of all, Rebel Run is affordable! For my 2 dogs, its right around $ 50/​night; compared to other places that charge $ 50 for each dog.
Second, they aren’t kept in kennels all day, which was my concern with Petsmart. Not only did I want them to be taken care of, I wanted them to have fun!
After their first visit over Christmas, I knew they would be ok when I went out of town for work. On our drive down there this week, they were clueless in the back seat and probably a little confused. But the second I pulled into Kathy’s driveway, they couldn’t get out of the car fast enough. They ran in and didn’t look back. I felt like a mom on the first day of kindergarten.
I couldn’t be more satisfied with how my dogs are taken care of at Rebel Run. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter!

Rebel Run is a wonderful place. Kathy and Heidi are great and truly care about their canine guests. I’ve been boarding my dogs there for years and never worry about them when they’re there. Unfortunately, I’ve had to put my dog to sleep recently so will not be back there for a while but am so grateful that they were there when I needed them!

We just picked up our dog from her latest stay at Rebel Run. As always, she came home happy, clean, and obviously well-​loved. Kathi and her team treat her like family every time, and no matter how long it’s been they always remember us and our dog and her quirks. We miss our girl like crazy when we go out of town, but we never have any doubts that she’s healthy and having a great time in our absence.

If Unilocal had 6 stars, Rebel Run would get it. Kathi and Heidi and crew take our beloved Jake once a month for 8 – 12 days when we travel out of town on business. Let me just say that Jake’s tail starts wagging when he gets in the car, because he knows where he’s going. They are the kindest most dog-​loving people I know. Do not think twice about leaving your beloved pet here– chances are they will enjoy it as much as– or more than — being at home! :)

Our dog Botti loves Rebel Run. He is always excited when we get there and leaps out of the car. We use both the daycare and the overnight boarding services. Never a worry. Kathi and Heidi are the best.

Kathi and her staff at Rebel Run have been wonderful to both my dog and me. I have a rescued shepherd who came to me with very special needs. Every staff member at Rebel Run has gone way beyond what I thought I had a right to expect from a kennel. It’s more like a ‘home away from home’ than a kennel for my shepherd. And considering all her issues, that’s really saying something!
I travel often on business and am completely comfortable leaving my girl here. The facility is clean, they provide physical activity for their ‘guests’ and, most important to my furry family member, the food is good!
It’s super convenient that Rebel Run is open seven days a week, including a full day on Sunday. They will work with you for any special needs your dog may have — and they never act like it’s a hassle. It’s just the right place to leave your dog when you need to be away.

This is a long overdue review as most of my Unilocal seem to center around my travels: restaurants, hotels and the likes… the irony being, that if it weren’t for Rebelrun Kennels, none of this would be as easily possible.
Conveniently located near John Wayne Airport, I have been taking Lola, my shepherd cross here for almost ten years. There is no place that I would trust her well being and happiness more. The owners and people who run this kennel are compassionate and dedicated and over the years Lola has become like family to them. She genuinely gets excited when we turn down Riverside Drive and she realizes where we are going.
Smart girl that she is, she even responds with tail wagging to me asking her (cue the baby talk voice…) «do you wanna’ go see the puppies?» Try getting a more than mildly physically handicapped 90 pound dog into the backseat of a car (who absolutely HATES the car) and you know that they’re excited.
The kennels themselves are extremely clean and well taken care of. Lola always seems content and non stressed when I pick her up.
I know Lola gets a lot of love here and I would recommend Rebelrun to anyone who needs a comfortable, affordable home away from home for their most loved four legged friends.

I became aware of this kennel after my mom went to go meet & possibly adopt a dog at one of the shelters across the street. Its on a cul-​de-​sac in a residential neighborhood, and it seems that almost every house on this block has been converted into a shelter or kennel. Strange, but not necessarily in a bad way.
I have left my 2 dogs here a couple of times, and its so convenient because its right down the street from my house. Plus, they’re open on Sundays unlike the previous kennel I was using. The staff are very friendly and are obvious animal lovers. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs in their hands, and will definitely be using them in the future.
