I wish I could give him 10 stars!!! I’ve known Dr Dhaliwal for over 14 years and I can’t think of anyone I trust more as a physician. He truly cares about his patients and their families. He gets to the point and does not sugar coat things. Some people find that displeasing but I quite like people who doesnt sugar coat things but gets to the point. He was able to answer all my questions and guide me on what to do and expect. Never met such a wonderful doctor!
When I realized I had to see a GI specialist the first person that came to mind was Dr Dhaliwal. My endoscopy went smoothly although thankfully I don’t remember it. Haha. My husband and I agree he has wonderful bedside manner and explained everything thoroughly.
I can’t thank him enough for the awesome care! His whole office staff is wonderful!!!

Dr Dhaliwal was recommended to my mother by a good friend and we were not disappointed. He recommended both a colonoscopy and endoscopy for my mother’s circumstances. The Prepropik prescription was so much easier to take to prep for the procedures — something my mom’s primary doctor did not even mention as an alternative to drinking those huge jugs of water. My mother had no discomfort or side effects at all from the procedures. Tip: She asked for a child-​size scope since she is petite. It was also easier to have the procedures done at the surgery center than the hospital. The nurses were great. We also appreciated that the doctor has a good sense of humor — especially to make you feel calmer before he puts you to sleep!

I went to Dr. Dhaliwal after 18 months of intermittent abdominal pain which was not going away despite trying numerous treatment options without success. He is very thorough, listens to what you tell him and takes the time to make you feel comfortable with him. Abdominal issues can be very complex and frustrating. Dr. Dhaliwal had a diagnosis and a preliminary treatment plan for me within a few weeks. He is extremely knowledgeable and I would recommend anyone to visit him with gastric issues. He does not presume what is wrong with you and he is one of the most dedicated Doctors I have come across. The office staff are friendly, extremely helpful and Jazz is a real people person, putting you at ease immediately. Do not hesitate to use this Doctor’s office, he is the best.

Dr Dhaliwal saved my life. I have been suffering from stomach issues my whole life. It started when I was 25 when I realized I was suffering with major lower stomach aches. I went to many «good» doctors and took many test from MRI, CAT Scans, colonoscopies, (3 of them, never saying anything about the real issues) Most of the doctors just said I had IBS and there was no cure but my diet and to have more fiber. Fast forward to 35 when I went to another dr they did a simple blood test and said you have celiac decease. I stop all wheat. For five years, I was on this diet though it helped, it didn’t solve the problem. A few months ago, again another attack and was rush off to ER. They found I had what was known as Diverticulitis
(there was a small cut in the lower colon, as well from all the damage through out the years) THIS HAS BEEN MY PROBLEM THIS WHOLE TIME! Now, at 43 I am going in for surgery. And guess what? I don’t have celiac disease! Dr Dhaliwal is very down to earth and he is very outgoing and has a sense of humor. (Not like most GI Doctors) He treats you like a human being. I highly recommend him! He is 1 in a million.

My background: I’m a healthy 28 year old who was referred to a hematologist by my gynecologist because I had high iron levels. Went to the hematologist who couldn’t figure out what was wrong and so I was referred to a «liver specialist» because he thought I might have had some kind of exposure to hepatitis in the past (Turns out that wasn’t true because a few days later, I successfully donated blood with no problems). So I filled out Dhaliwal’s new patient forms before he saw me and put down all the herbal supplements I take… such as multivitamins, vitamin D (my gynecologist put me on because I am deficient of it), apple cider vinegar pills, vitamin C, calcium, and fermented cod liver oil, and vitex berry (a female hormone balance herbal supplement). He saw the list and immediately began lecturing me as if I was a small child. He cut me off every time I tried to talk or explain why I was taking the supplements. He said every supplement I wrote down was «garbage» and if I didn’t stop taking all of them immediately, there was nothing he would do for me. He then told me if I didn’t stop taking all my «garbage», he wouldn’t be surprised if I dropped dead soon one day. I was appalled and speechless in front of him. I’ve never met anyone as rude as him in my life. Goodbye Dr. Dhaliwal and good riddance. Biggest waste of a $ 60 co-​pay and two hours of my life ever.

For years I’ve suffered from abdominal pain, temperature and chills, and sometimes a very bloody stool.
Went to so many doctors. Did everything possible, colonoscopies, endoscopes, etc
And every Doctor I went to would tell a different story and a useless prescription.
Finally my cousin told me about Dr. Dhaliwal.
Went to his office at Newport Beach.
Looked at me and did some simple hand tests and right away he sent me to Hoag Hospital and told me that he is not gonna let me out till he knows what is the problem.
Stayed there for 5 days. And he was on top of everything, did CTS and colonoscopy to figure out that I have Crohn’s disease in advanced stages.
Non of the other doctors did see it even with colonoscopy, how sad is that.
Anyway I started treatment and I’m doing extremely well. No more pain and no more medicine.

Though a little quirky, Dr. Dhaliwal was extremely knowledgable and professional during our numerous visits over the last year and a half. Sometimes cultures and humor clash with our expectations; however, his expertise literally saved my wife’s life after someone else’s bumbling! He’s five stars in our book!

I found him to be very rude and unprofessional. Any question I asked, he would cut me off before I finished speaking. He wouldn’t allow me to ask questions, and spoke to me as if I was inferior to him. On top off that, his staff overcharged me for my co-​pay. When I called multiple times, they said they would send a check to reimburse me. That never happened.

First rate!
The front office staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The office is clean and neat, neither run down nor was it over the top. Dr. Dhaliwal’s staff was able to work me in on an emergency basis. He was thorough and had an excellent bedside manner. He spoke with me in a manner which was equally informative, relaxed, and reassuring; not once was Dr. Dhaliwal patronizing as I have often found specialists to be. On top of his astounding level of compassion he is also funny.
Dr. Dhaliwal coordinated with my primary physician, over the phone right then and there, in front of me no less! I have yet to come across a physician that has done that. A procedure was recommended at the nearby surgery center and he had his staff book me for the procedure the very next working day – regardless of the hour.
In short, he is of a class far above the rest. If you have tummy troubles – go see him!
