It has been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, mind and body. This being said, it is easy to conclude that the eyes are undoubtedly the looking glass through which we view the world and our surrounding environment. Oddly enough, located directly behind these physiologic movie screens, known as our eyes, resides our brain, the center of gravity of the head, and the balance-​processing center of our entire body. This is quite an interesting and important set up to say the least. But what if our eyes were constantly lied to? What would your life be like if all the information that passed through your eyes into all of your sensory computing systems turned out to be false? How does our complex body react under such conditions? The answer is simple… the answer is pain, dysfunction, and disease.

The focus of NUCCA chiropractic is on a small misalignment of a bony structure that connects the head and the neck, a condition that is called the atlas subluxation complex. This misalignment can block the communication between your brain and the rest of your body resulting in pain, stress, tension and overall physical and emotional manifestations. After precise x-​ray analysis, a three-​dimensional mathematical portrait of where your head, atlas (the first vertebra), and the rest of your neck is in space is created. This tells me what is needed to correct your misalignment and «put your head back on straight.

History

Established in 1978.

Dr. Glenn Cripe graduated from U.C. Irvine in 1974 with his degree in Social Science. While attending UCI, he was a four year all-​American in Tennis.

After injuring his low back and neck in the waves of Hawaii, he went to many different health care doctors ranging from orthopedists, chiropractors (traditional) as well as physical therapist to name a few. It was only when he received his first NUCCA adjustment in 1974 from Dr. Alvin Dettloff, he got tremendous relief within hours. At his suggestion, Glenn enrolled in chiropractic school in Pasadena. After graduation, he drove back to Chicago and interned with one of the founders of the work, Dr. Marshall Dickholtz, Sr.

Dr. Brian is a recent graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic college of Los Angeles and is a new addition to our office. During his time at Cleveland, he began the campus chapter of the NUCCA club and would later become integral in getting NUCCA implemented into the curriculum.

On your first visit to our office, you will meet with the doctor of your choice for an in-​depth one-​on-​one consultation. A complete history will be obtained, and specific exams will be performed based on your personal findings and needs. During this time, hip and leg checks will be performed to indicate if an atlas misalignment is present. Upon completion of these exams, we will take 3 x-​ray views which will be taken from the side (lateral), from above (vertex), and from the front (nasium). This will create a 3-​dimensional picture of your atlas and its relationship to your head and neck. these x-​rays are integral in determining the specific adjustment that is tailored for you. There are over 2,000 potential misalignments and each one is particular to the individual. Your x-​rays will be analyzed to the smallest degree to ensure absolute precision and confirm objective evidence of a misalignment. After your adjustment, a post (after) film will be taken in order to confirm the correction
