Needed dry cleaners, after newly moved to area: this place well recommended, and having used many times now, am fully happy; high praises all around

E. Tarzian…11/21/14…Been trying to find a good dry cleaner for the past 20 years after moving to Newport Beach. My neighbor recommended I try C & L Cleaners… took a few garments in and can’t tell you how delighted I was .by the service and knowledge of the art of dry cleaning by C & L. Then I attended a wedding in July and put a white vintage coat from Paris on the back of my chair… where the waiter spilled gravy all over this coat. I tried to undo the damage but failed. Took it to C & L and the owner was there that day… can you undo all these stains… with your permission let me see if I can undo this damage. I will call you if I can’t…went to pick it up and I was delighted for no stains and my coat was the original color.White. In appreciate for all you did and I realize this was a difficult situation. I will be a devoted customer and will recommend you to my family and friends… Best Service I have ever had in this area… Merci.

Finding a good dry cleaner is always tough. Its one to the things we were not looking forward to when we moved to Newport Beach.
I primarily need to clean polos and men’s work shirts. Between my wife and I we rarely need to dry-​clean.
So what I always look for is a dry cleaner that is understanding when I just want to LAUNDER and PRESS. Sure, its cheaper to do it that way but most of the materials on these shirts are not that expensive.
So after trying various other coal dry cleaners with horrible results, we used C&L. Great, personalized service every time. They remember everything from previous visits and conversations.
But the main reason for this post is that they NEVER dry clean if something can be laundered and pressed of cheaper. Sometimes they even tell me when I pick up my shorts that I told them to dry-​clean but the material is fine to be laundered.
Saves me money and gives me peace of mind that I am not paying way too much for something that didn’t need to be dry cleaned.
Price-wise…their normal dry clean rates are MORE THAN HALF OFF what other local cleaners, like Kona, charge.
If you like small-​town friendliness and reasonable prices, C&: is the spot!

I highly recommend this family owned business. They have been apart of the Newport heights community for years. The owner Armen is very responsible and accommodating. All of the employees are friendly and professional. Our family has sent in everything from rugs to silk blouses and every single item is handled with care. It is always a pleasure to stop by and drop something off because of how sweet the attendant is. Our family will continue to send our weekly dry cleaning to C & L cleaners. I would trust this establishment with any delicate garment that was meaningful to me. We have never had an instance where something was missing. This is the most affordable dry cleaner in all of Newport Beach. Our family has been loyal patrons for 15 years. Thanks again C&L !

C & L Cleaners is Awesome! I’ve been a regular for several years. While their prices are competitive, their service is Outstanding! My dry cleaning and laundry are always on time and their attention to detail is impeccable. I’ve had serval garments repaired there and have been amazed at the results. Absolutely Amazed! I have lived in Newport Beach all my life and have tried out numerous dry cleaners in the area for my family of five. C and L Cleaners is by far the best company I have ever worked with and we have been using them exclusivley for the last few years. The owners and employees who work there are so personable and my order is always on time and perfectly dry cleaned or laundered. I have brought comforters, leather jackets and other unusual items. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and have been completely satisfied with their service and the prices they charge. They always help me carry my clothing out to the car and the location is so desirable .They have never lost an item or been late with an order. I was given a gross underestimate on the garments I needed cleaning due to the fact that the front desk girl (either lacking common sense or just didn’t care) did not correct my description of the item. I asked how much for my several coats (while holding in my hands for her to see) but called them jackets and she answered me with the price of a jacket. I said «great! Let’s do them all!» and I come back to coats that were MORE THAN DOUBLE in cost of the original quote. Her argument: «you asked about jackets, not coats.» I brought them in for her to see because I knew I couldn’t get an accurate quote over the phone. Does that not make sense?
In short: Prices might be good (I wouldn’t know, as I was quoted so low I didn’t think of trying anywhere else,) dry cleaning turned out good, but DO NOT go away without a written quote, if they will give it to you. My frustration was in this: the (obvious) spirit of the question was completely ignored by the front desk girl. When I talked to the owner about it he gave in that «maybe she didn’t understand» but I don’t think he understood that when people bring in their clothes and ask for an estimate they would like it somewhat accurate. One of his responses when I asked for a discount was «don’t push it.»
So I was charged (they knocked about $ 4 off) more than I might have been charged at other places. What if I had been on a budget? A $ 30 quote difference could mean gas in my car! My clothes were held hostage until I paid what they wanted me to pay — that almost scares me. I’ve never had this issue with a dry cleaner before!
I prefer going to places that actually care about their customers, not one who’s front desk girl needs to either care or get some common sense and not one who’s owner does most of the talking and has no qualms about telling the customer that they may be part of the problem.
