Horizon Heating & Cooling

I had Horizon Heating & Cooling perform an annual maintenance on the two AC units at my home. Approximately forty minutes after beginning the work, I received the bill and was just a little surprised at its total of $ 558.
I was charged a $ 89 service call fee, and another $ 89 «system tune up» fee. Then among the line items charges were two $ 20 charges for «ant spray», two $ 10 charges for «condensation cleanout», and two $ 10 charges for «ring replacements». After the service, I called several other AC maintenance companies in my area (Jonesboro AC being one of these) and was told that they would not have charged for «ant spray», and «condensation cleanout», but that these services would have been included in the «system tune up fee». I was also told that the two $ 10 charges for «ring replacements» was high. Additionally, Horizon charged me $ 100 for two air filter replacements. After realizing I had been over charged for other items, I decided to look online for air filters and found the filters for half of what Horizon was charging.
I called Jason at Horizon and informed him of my concern about the charges and that I had called other AC maintenance companies who had told me that the charges looked excessive. Instead of listening to my concern, Jason proceeded to defend all the charges and tell me how «competitively priced» Horizon’s services are. He then tried to deny my cancellation of the $ 100 replacement air filters, which I had already paid for, but after a week, never received. I really was shocked that Jason was not only unwilling to remove any of these superfluous charges (as per Jonesboro AC) but also that he was trying to deny my being refunded the $ 100 for the air filters I had already paid for, but which he had not yet delivered a week later. This made me begin to question their billing practices in general and to have concerns about other bills I had received from them.
If you use, or have used Horizon in the past, I would be interested to know if they make it part of their billing practice to charge for «ant spray», «condensation clean out», «ring replacements» for all their AC maintenance customers (a means of charging an additional $ 50-​$ 80 on top of their $ 89 service call and $ 89 unit tune up fee on all their AC maintenance service).

I strongly recommend Jason Schmidt and his lovely assistant. They arrived promptly, immediately diagnosed my problem and charged me very reasonably! I am so glad they’re here in Newnan to take care of our HVAC needs!

Went by the Unilocal ratings listed here and called Jason. He was timely, professional, and fair. Was expecting the worst when furnace stopped working, but Jason diagnosed the problem and very reasonable with the pricing. Thank you Jason.

I did not actually use their services, but I called to get an estimate on having the e-​coil in my unit replaced. I was only going off of Unilocal,and did not realize they only serviced in Coweta county. Since I do not live in Coweta county, Jason was open and honest with me that his estimate would be the highest of anyone’s because of the travel time it would take to get to me. I appreciate his honesty, and if I ever have friends or family in Coweta county looking for heating and cooling repair, I will recommend they call Jason at Horizon Heating & Cooling.

These guys are first rate! We got and entire HVAC system put in our house and got it for a 2 story house. The whole experience couldn’t have gone any better. Jason and Jake were 100% professional. A job done perfectly! Thanks guys!

I have used Jason’s company for both heating and cooling issues left over from the previous owner/​builder. He always comes with an assistant, which really lets him focus on the job. He explains the issue in layman’s terms, so you truly understand the problem and the fix. His wife (who runs the office) is polite and knows her stuff too! We have been very pleased with their service.
