There is no one like Ve Loyce in the area and no other place like Monsters of Massage. He is the best! Back, neck, shoulder pain is no match. Wrist, elbow, knee, ankle injuries, headaches, sciatica, hip problems, etc. Ve Loyce knows what needs to be done and using pressure points he will help you heal from injuries or problem areas and release the pain from your body. He can tell you if he can help you and how many sessions you need. It is painful but it is nessesary and gets the job done.

After being recommended by my chiro to see Ve Loyce, I decided to come here. 3 visits later, I’m sold on the monsters. Ve Loyce is great, nice guy and his hands work magic. Don’t come expecting to relax, come expecting to have the demons worked out! I had lower back pain for 3 months straight, after my first visit I was healed. Amazing. I will continue to visit him regularly.

This place is all about deep tissue sports massage. You don’t come here for some foofy spa massage. Ve Loyce has been doing massage in the gold country area for over 20 years, with my family as some of his first, original clients back when he was working out of a Chiropractor’s Office in Gold River.
Ve Loyce is an awesome, friendly person (you’ll know him by the badass mustache) and a master at the healing arts. We have a family history of neck and back problems, and coming to him has helped so much. I recently went in to visit the new office space, and to get my shoulders and neck worked on after a rollerskating mishap. I went in with, among other long-​lasting problems (I work in an office all day), a lingering post-​workout type deadness to my legs and back due to improper stretching paired with some practice falling on my skates. The very day after my visit to the Monsters, this feeling has mostly gone away.
You don’t have to be a serious athlete to patronize here, but many do. Long distance runners, MMA fighters, members of the military, and outdoor sports enthusiasts are a big part of the clientele here. Check out the wall of signed pictures from clients.
VeLoyce’s new apprentice, Jared, featured in a Placer Sentinel article this month, is also pretty talented, but as he’s my brother I can’t sit here and offer an unbiased review.

If you are a distance runner that puts in a lot of mileage and want to get worked on COME HERE!!! They work with a lot of Western States 100 runners and you can find them at the finish line of local 50 milers.
I came in thinking I was fine as I hadn’t had any issues, man was I wrong. I was withering in the good pain that I was receiving! Worked out all my kinks that were there but not as prevalent.
Remember to bring cash as they don’t take credit or debit cards. That is my ONLY quip.

This is not a spa: This is where you go when you are in pain, and need relief, or if you want to stop something from developing into a problem. Veloyce is THE monster. I’ve been to both Jared and Veloyce — both amazing. If you are a local athlete, you might see them at various events around the area — a good way to check them out. Otherwise, they are on the town square in Newcastle. Easy to get to, easy to park.
