History
Established in 1994.
Begun part-time as upscale resale shop, more fun than antique or thrift shops «where your money goes around more» and symbolic of life — up and down and all around. This is demonstrated by the many stories behind the merchandise, accumulated in a journal which eventually will become a book/series. The most dramatic being the sudden death of the primary mover-and-shaker ten months after opening. The hobby became a necessity, requiring a one-person operation and years of on-the-job training with very limited funds, observing trends, acquiring patience and learning that the store has a life of its own, not always controllable. Being helpful to customers is primary, not pushing sales and a wish-book tracks their requests for special needs.

Born in London, England. Assorted business experiences, including several years at NBC, living for several years in diverse cities such as New York, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco and L.A. — at sixty years of age I was content to be managing a mini-storage where I would have time to write. But life had other plans — and with my 75th birthday upcoming I’m surprised to find myself more active than ever, with an agile mind and body that belies the stress involved in the drama of the store. The store is very sociable and a constant learning experience. I had no idea there was so much «stuff» in the world, such electic collectors!
