LOVE the coffee, LOVE the view and I LOVE the fireplace on a cold snowy new England afternoon. This place is cool and has great soup as well!

A tad high priced for a simple iced coffee, but absolutely love the atmosphere and flavored offered. As well as great staff! I’m willing to sacrifice the prices for quality

Stumbled on this place a while ago when walking the waterfront. I really love that you can get your drink in big, Friends TV show type mugs. Prices are kind of high especially for someone who needs almond/soy milk. I love that it’s dog friendly and that there’s a sign that says they share tables so it’s not that awkward going up and sitting at someone else’s table. I also really love the doors to the patio which is my favorite place to sit.

I stopped in here for a coffee and got an Iced Twix Latte and let me tell you… I always want to find any excuse to go back to Newburyport so I can stop in and get another… or try another flavor. It had great flavor and wasn’t sickeningly sweet or anything. Oh and I have to say they allowed dogs inside and on the very nice patio as well. I was ecstatic to see this as I have 2 dogs and can’t typically get a coffee if I’m by myself w/them as I don’t want to leave them outside while I go into get a coffee.

I’ve never had a bad coffee here, but it’s never been especially nice, either. Plum island Roasters is really close to my home, but I always feel disappointed. The coffee has citrus notes but there is also this plastic after taste I experience when I get their lattes. That said, the staff is always nice. Owners really need to change the card system do you can tip when you use a card. It’s a necessity!

I recently moved to Newburyport and have been to Plum Island Coffee Roasters twice. Love it here. A great place to meet a friend or get some work done, be warned though, the large iced coffee is the size of a big gulp! If you want a more reasonable iced coffee go with the small or medium ;) Plus, they have plenty of power and good WiFi if you are looking to plug in and work. So happy I found PICR!

Coming from a big city and in need of a cold brew fix? PI Roasters has got you covered. Looking for the largest amount of iced coffee you can take to go? PI Roasters has the largest size that won’t even fit in your cup holder, so hold on to your drinks! In search of a beautiful view while you drink your coffee? Again you are in luck. And lastly, need to do some computer work and get out of the house? You got it, once again PI Roasters is your place.

Will agree that us was tough to find. There was not alot of signage off the main road. If it wasn’t for other reviewers I would have never found it. Beyond that, it’s a cute place, nice selections, lovely staff and good coffee. Sitting outside was relaxing. I would come again,.

I’m very fond of PICR. It’s located in the boatyard between the Black Cow and Michael’s Harborside Restaurant. There’s a real down-to-earth Newburyport feel there. You can get a nice, strong cup of coffee and look out at the Merrimack River just before it empties into the Atlantic. PICR has wifi, so a lot of people bring their laptops. The baked goods are ordinary, but the coffee is pretty good, and it’s simply a cool spot.

In the competitive world of coffee shops, Plum Island is just OK. The service is OK most of the time, but not consistantly great. I have been buying coffee at the shop a few times a month, for years. I have never been blown away by the flavors-and do not feel like there is a passion for the product from the staff. The ordering and payment is always a litle confusing– so when it is busy the line is a bit of a mess.. The food is very mediocre– nothing that you would specifically go back for. Although the coffeee is better perhaps than a Starbucks– there are better spots in NPort if you are looking for a real good coffee drink.

Great coffee and terrific view. An old school, independently-owned coffeehouse that gives Starbucks a run for its money. Try the peaberry blend!

Great, but hard to find location on the river. Lots of space inside. Respectable selection of baked goods. However on taste of the coffee alone I prefer Atomic. There is something mildly off — putting about the(espresso) coffee here that I can’t place. Over roasted? Not pulled with enough pressure? Not sure, but it doesn’t quite do it for me.

I’ve been coming basically since it originally opened, oh 7 – 9 yrs ago(hard to peg). It’s always had very good coffee, a low key friendly vibe and a stunning location. Keep it up as I travel out from Santa Cruz CA to visit!

First time customer review: Got a Large Iced«Smooth Sailing» coffee(mix of vanilla/caramel). Definitely better than a chain coffee but nothing spectacular. I would certainly recommend this place but I’m sure there is better in town. Employees were nice and friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxing. You can set up a laptop or grab a comfy chair and read a book. Great spot near the water.

I popped in for a quick latte to go. This place has ample indoor seating with a high ceiling and lots of natural light. There is also out door seating, right next to the marina and boat lift. Definitely a nautical view here! They have a large coffee menu, but I went for the usual to get my milk. The latte was fine. The parking is in a gravel lot labeled with ropes and oil drums to delineate where you should go. A bit off the road, but worth the trip.

Friendly staff and the owner works just as hard as everyone else. I always feel welcome here and the coffee is amazing. The only thing I’d change is the prices on the food. It’s a bit expensive so I usually stick to coffee.

Of the almost 10 years I’ve lived in the area I had yet tried this place, and I am 100% sure I’m coming back real soon! Today I had one of the choices under«today’s brew»(which was only $ 1.79, how do you guys manage it for so cheap??) and split a raspberry scone with the mom. You can’t beat the view of the water either. Sort of a hard find(affordably anyway) in Newburyport! I think I’ll have to try their smoothies next time, yum!

Great coffee(especially just the regular iced coffee). Service has always been friendly but kind of slow. Absolutely LOVE the atmosphere. A coffee shop on the water? Yes please!

This place has a lot of potential– so many fantastic flavors of lattes cold and hot– numerous coffee flavors. Great location, right on the water. Interior was cute, cozy and clean. Coffee was tasty. Yet, there is a lot of room for improvement: the sandwiches are pre-made, sit in a case and don’t look that appetizing(although I did not try one so maybe I’m wrong; however, in this area there are so many fun places for freshly made sandwiches– why would I want one that is premade?) Service could have been much quicker and they almost seemed bothered to make my latte. Overall this place gets 3 stars but could be a 5 star place!
