This is a quaint Italian bakery. Their desserts are top notch, as well as their beverages. There is a restroom for customers if needed. They have wifi, just get the password at the register. No sandwiches or anything, just coffee and dessert.

What happened? The place looks like a dump. The floor was so dirty. The staff are so unfriendly. The ambiance has changed. There is too much light. So sad. The quality of drinks have changed too. Hope they get it together. This was my spot.

Modest coffee shop in an old storefront. They have good coffee, tea and tasty fresh pastry. Looks like a great place to hang out, read or check EMail.

The berry cream was delicious! Being lactose intolerant, it’s difficult to find non-dairy options. Thank you! The staff was very friendly and nice. Check it out!

Decent coffee and selection of drinks, but the surly service has got to go! Today when it was about nine millions degrees out, I stopped in for a smoothie. The woman behind the counter was obviously annoyed that I would order something, you know, that’s on their menu. No smile, no «hello,» no «thank you,» etc. and for her it added up to no tip. Get some friendlier people! Aside from that, the smoothie was actually really good and refreshing.

Okay, so here’s an update. There is a new owner now who thankfully cleaned the place up, got rid of the perennial dusty Christmas decorations, and painted the place. Unfortunately, the bakery case is still always half full of items with no prices. Not pricing the items causes customers confusion and also makes the checkout process much slower. If you have to ask the price of every single item so that you can come up with an assortment of affordable pastries to take to an event or to share with friends, everyone else waiting for service has to listen to you getting the rundown of what each thing costs. It is terribly inefficient. And that is assuming that the teenaged clerk even KNOWS the prices! Also, on my recent visit with another curious friend, I purchased an apple scone. Which was totally raw dough in the middle. So in question is the quality, the service, and the marketing of the goods in this establishment.

The coffee is burnt, they leave dirty towels on the counters, and the pasties are old and stale. The management is horrible, and doesn’t know how to run the business.

Caffe di Siena is the best! Love the ambience, the cappuccinos, and the desserts. Very nice staff as well! One of my Nbpt favorites.

I’ve been going here off and on for over ten years. The desserts are always out of this world. The drinks are good, the chai was nothing to write home about but the coffee is great. The atmosphere is wonderful at night especially when they have a local artist in to play. The issue I have is the management. Make sure you have cash on you. They watch your every move and they are not very friendly. If you can deal with the bad service than its worth finding a corner table and enjoying the other attributes of the shop.

This coffee and desert is usually very good. Coffee is made my a person so yes it can vary depending on who is making it. The manager lady is a little intrusive when it comes to monitoring if your cup is full and if you’ve sat too long. A little bight better customer service and this place would be a gem. The décor is comfortable.

Customers are obnoxiously loud. The Café’s biggest strength is its operating hours. The Coffee is descent and Service is good.

Nice way to spend a rainy, cool Saturday morning! Hot tea and some double mocha espresso concoction hit the spot and the pastries we tried — a pumpkin scone and fruit tart– were freshly made and really delicious.

This place is awesome just to hang out and have some good coffee and pastries after dinner with some live music. We always skip dessert at dinner when we go out in Newburyport so we can go here. Awesome café.

This place gives you the ‘aha’ moment(s). I was here at the end of March(during the rainy spring break) They have so many different types of pastries and rich coffee and sometimes live music and the typical New Englandish ambience. High ceiling, comfy sofa chairs, and sofa, contemporary table and chair seating. Great, friendly staff; the place overall is pretty big and does not give you feeling of being in a matchbox coffee house like starbucks/caribou etc. Now, what I loved the most is that they have stuff that is actually imported from Italy(in the frozen state ofcourse). I tried«fruitti di bosco» that an imported pastry and mind it, it was the best pastry I have had in the 6 years of being in this country. I wanted to buy another one and store it for the next day but my Colonial hotel room in the next block did not have a fridge. Surprisingly, I did come back next afternoon to buy another one of that and it was sold out:( And yes, I could not resist trying something else– hot chocolate and the fruit tart. All good stuff man. Do NOT miss this place when you r in Newburyport.

It seems I’ve managed to avoid the poor service everyone is talking about. I have been here a few times as Newburyport is a halfway point between myself and a friend on the North Shore. We often meetup here in the winter months to grab a hot drink, camp out in the back and play Scrabble. We’ve never been shooed away. The chai lattes and pastries are all great and the live music is a nice touch. The ambiance inside is great, and I’ve brought many the date here as it’s a good place to go on one. As it’s planted right in the middle of downtown, there is plenty of other things to do either before or after coming here. Give it a try.

So… A lovely Saturday afternoon at 5pm, my husband and I ran into this coffee shop to grab a coffee and a cup of tea. I am lactose intolerant so I requested soy milk, apparently they don’t have soy milk — first strike. What coffee shop these days does not have soy milk? I could still stomach this, but happened next was just too much for me! My husband asked for two tea bags in his mint tea and with a straight face the cashier announces, that’ll be $ 5 as she began to hand him the cup… $ 5 for a cup of tea? She continues to tell us since he asked for 2 tea bags, she had to charge for 2 cups of tea… Ok… Then… She says completely seriously, I’ll take out one tea bag and then I can charge you half… No further comment required. Ridiculous to say the least!

They don’t really know how to make espresso drinks here. Nor do they know how to steam or foam milk properly.
