Meet the Business Owner

William W.

Business Owner

I started playing drums in 1984 and within 1 year began teaching friends in high school. In 1992 I built a full time teaching practice that continues to this present day. In 2004, I taught a group percussion class at a local middle school. I also currently teach at my private location weekly. I teach drums and music like a language built on the fundamentals. My goal in teaching is to develop and encourage the student’s musical ability through the drums. I concentrate on the student’s technical proficiency, theoretical knowledge, drum set independence, snare drum rudiment vocabulary, stylistic interpretation, meter, learning methodology, transcribing and compositional skills. I emphasize incorporating the music that the student enjoys, as well as exposing him/her to other styles. Because of my system eventually my students can learn to continually teach themselves.
